Title The Love Proposal Spoiler
What happened to Shane? I don't remember what happened to him!
I think Time got him arrested.

well the main leads are Shancai and Dao Mingse. Why are you sorry for those who ship them? I feel sorry for you…
He may not be what Shancai/Gorya needs but he is can`t be called boring.
He is autistic and that makes it harder for him to socialize and relate to other people, but at least he is a good loyal and supportive friend of hers throughout the whole story and does fall in love with her along the ride.

Hana Nochi Hare (HYD sequel/next generation) played with the same tropes but can be 100% unproblematic. It did…
I remember watching Hana Nochi Hare when it came out together with my sister. It has NOT the same vibe as the Boys over Flowers Franchise usually have. Plot may be the same, but is a more fluffy and cuter in the execution despite being very dramatic. Haruto by the way not only showed a false image of who he really is- he is a stark coward who can`t stand up for himself from the start.

There is a stark contrast to him and Tsukasa. You just feel pity for Haruto, for how pathethic and lost he truly is- the same can`t be truly said for Tsukasa. Tsukasa is a formidable, strong, passionate and a hateful character.

You yawn for what Haruto may bring to the table, but you will feel outrage every time Tsukasa lift his finger.

Haruto is not a problematic character therefore the sequel is not problematic itself. Yeah he uses his power to expel students from school- but he does not use violence or the extreme bullying Tsukasa did.

That really takes the Boys over Flowers vibe off from the screen. You will feel delighted and entertained.

But there is none of the intensity, excitement and shock that a Boys over Flowers version can give.

3 words to describe Time: Kind, charming and thoughtful
Those words are better suited for Touch, although i don`t disagree with you.
Time are very charming and kind and thoughtful to the people he loves. But he is also very fierce and lets no one step on his brothers toes. Time for me is brave, passionate and strong.

He is this steadfast warrior who guards his family from intruders. It has always been him protecting Touch from the bad guys.

One concept i find fascinating about this drama version of BOF is the Race against Time. We see it in the way…
The Neverland episode really shocked me! And it is one of my favourite episodes because it is such a huge part in Gorya`s and Thyme`s journey. Both Gorya & Thyme are in their own worlds, reflecting and learning and coping with the struggles coming their way.

In their own imagination they have entered "adulthood", but in reality they have run away from their true destiny. They are stuck in this "Neverland" notion, but it is not real. It is not their true selfs at the moment.

this will be frustrating to watch if you're class conscious, they don't dig deep enough into the issues, its all…
I understand what you mean.
It is entirely impossible to make a "100% unproblematic" adaptation of Boys over Flowers. You take away all the "problematic" elements and the story will loose its essence and direction. Some countries have even created dramas that are BASED on Boys over Flowers without being a true adaptation, just taking bits of the plot and taking away the problematic elements and it creates a whole different story. But there is no feels that Boys over Flowers can give.

I am surprised by how much i enjoyed watching this part in the series! I love how the womanizing Lom becomes such a smitten loverboy for Kati!

Margie & Boy have such a natural chemistry in this one!
I was also so happy to see the other couples!

The romance in this one is slow-burn but soooooo good in the way that you feel them developing this care, trust…
That is one of the reasons i don`t get some viewers who expect a intense romance of slap-kiss genre like Kluen Cheewit. Alice & Davin are bound by their duties, having more serious responsibilities. Sathit from Kluen Cheewit made Jeerawat`s life living hell, he overstepped any boundaries and got a sadistic kick of hurting Jeerawat. Their romance is toxic and dark whereas Davin would rather cut his own arm than ever hurt Alice.

Sathit wanted to control and possess Jeerawat, using domination by raping her. An act of violence.

Davin never wanted to possess Alice, he respected her so much.

The Crown Princess and Kluen Cheewit are totally different lakhorns as day and night.

"If i fight, i will lose" -ThymeThis was Thyme fighting for change, fighting to keep the light within him. He…
This is what i have always been saying. Portrayal is not promotion. This is the writers telling the viewers that change is possible, people can change and become better. Thyme took this to the next level in ep 11. Why should we bash him for his past, why can`t we forgive him when he is trying so hard? Give a human being a chance when he does show regret and remorse over his past deeds, this also speaks up to how unforgiving our society can be.

How did F4 romanticize violence and bullying when there was horror music/theme everytime it happened? I did not…
I don`t agree with how you think the writers portrayed violence in this show..but with your comment i feel like what you are really saying, is that it doesn`t even matter whatever character developement this character got. In your eyes he is evil because of his past and no amount of change will ever change him in your view.

I am totally alright with that. I respect that because i have a sister that thinks the same.

One thing for sure, i have a friend that fell in love with the Bully in our class from high-school. He pursued her when they went to the university and when i got to know they were dating i was shooked to the core. I freaking screamed at her face "This is the guy that locked you in the basement in our school, who trashed your absolutely favourite book (that was gifted by her deceased grandmother) who let the other guys throw water at her clothes during break (i got some of that water on my clothes also, i was livid!) and even stole a kiss from her IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE CLASS when she screamed at him. This guy was crazy..but ahhhhh yeah we know what happened next.

Oh, today they have been married for 5 years and have two kids together. And he is the sweetest guy on earth. She is practically shining with happiness with him, makes me wanna puke

You totally spoke up my mind about Tsukasa`s character. He is truly iconic!

How did F4 romanticize violence and bullying when there was horror music/theme everytime it happened? I did not…
Portrayal is not promotion. The violence is essential to his character, without that violence, the essence of him is gone. Is he a bad person? Yes, at first. Even when he does try to change, he still regress like we saw in the scene you mentioned in ep 7. But what the writers showed in that scene was that he is in his lowest point. This is Thyme at his lowest, but he will only get better from there, which also shows when he swear to never use violence and even closes the stadium.

This is a fairy tail of sorts, there is not to be expected realism in a bully romance and beauty and the beast kind of trope, but at least this show clarified that any form of violence is wrong.

For Thyme to change, he even refused to lift one finger to save himself when all the guys almost beat him to death. It was the cost of his humanity, his utter punishment for all his bullying in the past. This show doesn`t romantisize the bullying. They called him out for it...and they punished him.
