I started watching asian dramas when most of these Taiwanese releases are already considered outdated, so I never got around to watching most of them (whether it was because it was hard to find online, the poor quality, the cringey outfits lol), so I think having remakes, especially since most of them are more than a decade after the original release, is appropriate and fine for newer audiences who didn't grow up with these storylines. I also feel like having a drama based on a previous drama doesn't mean that everything about them has to be compared, parts of the story can be different but still make for an enjoyable watch.
I was honestly hooked to Forget You Remember Love and really did not care that it was a remake of Prince Turns into Frog. For me, it was still such an enjoyable watch.
TLDR: I think it's okay to prefer one version to another and make comparisons, but these new versions still deserve the opportunity to show what they got. Viewers should go in with an open-mind and understand that things can and will be different.
It's interesting to see such a difference in ratings. It seems like people either give it below 5 stars, or 9-10 stars. Nonetheless, such an enjoyable watch that was super fun and cute for me. I do feel like something weird happened with Tine and Sarawat's chemistry in the last episode, but I'm too invested and in love with this drama to let the last episode ruin it for me hehe. Idk, I was really really hoping we would see Tine do some initiating. I feel like it's always been Sarawat chasing Tine and we don't see much of Tine doing anything for Sarawat? Probably gonna go back to the earlier episode and rewatch cute scenes tho. I'm really gonna miss looking forward to new episodes tho and do hope for a season 2 to further develop all the relationships!! Ugh, Idk if I'll really ever be over this drama it really stole my heart
This is such a cute post awww! I started with Taiwanese dramas way back in the 5th grade I think. I grew up in a family that watches a lot of TVB dramas dubbed in Vietnamese loool but they were usually crime fighting dramas and I just wanted something cute and fluffy, so I started my own drama watching journey :) ALSO YES JUST STARTED MY FIRST BL A FEW WEEKS AGO UGH SO GOOD MWAH CHEF'S KISS
Taichu and Dawei are adorable. I ship them. Dawei has been working all the time without having a personal life…
Haven't finished it yet but they both deserve the world and so much more. Dawei is such a loyal goofball and Taichu is such a darling. Dawei deserves a big fat raise and YES he should go on vacation with Taichu
idk I felt partially frustrated with Yun Yi basically attacking Qian Yu to give her back Jun Hao because up til that point, they painted Qian Yu as a strong-minded and outspoken girl, yet she got swallowed up by Yun Yi's words. i kept wanting her to stand up for Tong Hao and tell Yun Yi that it's not her choice what Tong Hao chooses to do.
