Am I the only one that noticed the Wuxia story was so similar to MDZS? The name "Lan Zhen" reinforced it. Intentional or not, I liked the references to MDZS (even if they were unintentional)

I feel like people who are disappointed just weren't looking for this type of series. They probably wanted a huge political party, action, mystery kind of plot. But that's like looking for kinnporsche type of drama when watching Cherry Magic. It's not that the script is bad, it's just not what they expected. In reality, they got the wrong idea on what The Next Prince is actually supposed to be. Because if you take The Next Prince without trying to make it fit all of your ideals and tastes, it's amazing. people need to accept that sometimes a series isn't bad—it's just not their taste.

I remember when I temporarily stopped watching Thai BL's during the entirety of 2025 and switched to primarily JBLs and KBLs.. They were so fan service-y and very non con. Luckily they got way better in 2025, and I kinda ran out of K and J BLs to watch so I'm very glad things are evolving for both Thai and Korean BLs. JBLs on the other hand..

oh trust me you can't find a more straightforward and communicative couple in a k-bl of 2025. It definitely gets better, continue watching.

okay if Heartstopper is your example as a good bl, then you have bigger issues. No offense, I love Heartstopper! but those shows you listed are known to be horrible representation of homosexuality, and it's known to be for the straights in a way. The acting isn't great either. I feel like you just want the over-acting and dramatization that kdramas provide you with. And that's okay, but don't go around here pretending like this is a poorly acted and unrealistic series when you just don't like accurate representation of gay high Schoolers being high Schoolers. Maybe you'd be better off watching straight shows or just back away from Thai dramas because you don't like shows that show how romance goes for gay teenagers and doesn't just follow how media makes gay relationships look like.
