Season 1 is mainly based around HillEaster reconnecting and JohanNorth meeting, the others are introduced as Easter and North have their Freshman friend group and Hill and Johan have their doctor friend group.

Season 2 is where things get weird because Season 2 is the entire compiliation of 3 shows merged together.
Beside the Sky - Tonfah/Typhoon story
The Sun from Another Star - Thit/Dao story
Lately, It's Winter Season - Tiger/Dueannao

HillEaster and JohanNorth are in all of these 3 shows as side couples.

From what I can remember, they interacted very little in Season 1.

Dao and Thit didn't have any history with each other so their isn't much to be worried about compared to most of the other CPs in this show.

Yes, all of the CPs have their own drama set within the Fourever You Universe, some were told in Season 1 and the others were told in Season 2.

Peach Lover and My Stubborn comes to mind as NC heavy shows.

Addicted was produced (2016) before the BL-strict censorship came from China (2020-2021). Yes, it was cut off during airing due to China's censorship, essentially because a legitmate BL-drama became very popular and mainstream which concerned the government. Stay with Me (2023), is a remake of Addicted but done through a "Bromance" lense and it stuck closely to the censorships.

I hope this makes sense and also explains very simply about CBL then and now.
