I just finished the drama and i just don't know if i should give it a number rating .I've always enjoyed violent, gory with lots of stress dramas but this really made me feel very different than others shows i usually watch.
Maybe i really liked CHT as a girlfriend from the very start and as i continued watching the entire drama my heart felt so heavy that i couldn't enjoy the stellar acting every cast has shown here. It became so bad some point that everytime i started a new ep and the opening track start playing, instantly my heart goes heavy mode. sighhh

Well this defers very much on the genre btw. The type you mentioned, there actually is a lot like that but those cdramas are with traffic/idol casts romcoms which mostly made for catering the 16-22 years old female centric audience so what you described is what should be there to get the traffic, no? But I think we shouldn’t judge cdrama as a whole just for those.

On the contrary if you want to watch the opposite of it I would recommend you to go for male centric dramas(you will find them a lot if you just surf a bit) or dramas with slight romance as they do shows mature portrayal.

wow what a sharp observations from you two, what im going to write here; from the novel it might be a major spoiler but it won't count here as in that angle (the original is actually a harem and ml has double digit love interest there lmao) the series didn't followed the original novel much.

In the original Lin'an half sister which is Huaiqing is the ultimate partner for ml and the consort you mentioned which is duchess Nanzhi is his ultimate true love. This two female was up there for the love and partner thing the most and they both hold prominent place in the heart of ml. While Lin'an was also a love interest (there were countless of them like her xd) she was mostly in scene for the harem drama they caused tbh.

Glad i stared the drama despite poor rating but i also understand the reason behind poor rating. This drama is a very mature one with heavily focused on business and it portrayed a very realistic tone. The romance was also very mature and not over the top as other drama, and it very much not be of majority's choice. So its very likely that people might go for this drama just by looking at the cast and get disappointed on its realistic portrayal. And for me, if not i have to work hard for not finding good subs i easily would've given it 9.5.

why actually shen yue is dropping so much do you know? i remember it was actually one of her drama that made me an asian drama fan so its sad to see this now

do you know the funny part? The same act for that cherry got so bashed and ratings got crashed is actually the same reason Sang Yan(first frost) got so much loved and rating is almost 9. the reason for using that as references is the fl 'chasing' part is actually kinda similar to that one, even say for the hong kong arc is also very similar like one of the lead leaving and other chasing, just the role got reversed and yet here we are; people and their double standard sigh

well thats good than, ZLH usually doesn't do the "fictional man" character thus his drama usually get low ratings here in mdl but the higher rating in this one indicates it has gone well

you've watched first frost i saw in your acc so you might like this one as well, some plot is quite similar like the way the guy in first frost never gave up on the fl but here; its reverse. this is a classic ZLH drama where he's like always a close to reality typa man and not a fictional man. so far The best thing was the only one he acted as a fictonal man if i recalled correctly and thus it has higher rating.

the thing is that in the original japanese version, they're actually siblings. its just that kdrama won't get past censorship if they keep it that way so they twerk it a little.

its a mature show and i think the low rating is because the cast (yiran and ying lu) has done fair share of feel good shows and their fan might have expected the same here but as its a super heavy drama they might have just gave negative. so my advice to whomever might come here to find review for this is don't trust the mdl ratings, its an emotional ride so if you are prepare to watch then go for it.

like yk not supporting is okay but just don't know why people straight up hating on such a drama, i also founded the cinematography very beautiful in this one, there were so many scene the view was beautifully portrait. Also more hate on another drama i've seen in this site which is Such A Good Love but since i've started it i'm liking it very much (just on ep 7 though so can't comment much but still)

This is in some major way The first frost but reverse, yet one has gotten so high ratings while the other can’t even get past 8 marks, i just don’t understand the fellow mdlers.
