Hello omo, i hope not replying you too late. I just checked your top rated dramas and by looking into those my thinking is you’re not someone who's just into pure romcom but also into romance with strong stories?

Then I think you shouldn’t watch TOOL rn bcs the fl character is exactly what you described(can’t blame her though in the drama they have like 10 years age gap so it’s kinda understandable to some point), if you’re into XZ’s drama than i think TYM might be a better option imo as it’s story has better depth but it’s a bit low budgeted compared to his standard so the cinematography and there’s some other stuffs which might not make you interested. If you want some recommendations you can dm me as I also am a fellow who consumed solely kdrama for 3/4 years then it’s been a year shifted to cdramas. You can also just check my watchlist and decide from there if you have time.

well the thing is, she's not an idol actress. The project she takes are a bit serious than the regular rom-com; in internationally we prefer regular romcom more than serious meaningful dramas thus you might see a lot of edits, reels etc of those so these looks like more popular. But the actual high value awards and critical acclaimed goes to actress like her.

Ahh maybe my choice of word were bad, by cold i actually meant he was cold and kinda rude to the world (he had reason ofc) except his fl’s in those 2 drama.

And by doormat i meant that in these 2 he’s actually very much sacrificial for the fl’s; in here we’re not yet to see his backstory like what he actually used to do before coming back to this place (remember he came in the first episode to deliver some stuffs to his colleagues families) and after gaining his memory he’s settling down here only because he wants to stay closer to her.

Overall im enjoying this drama like his all other works and was bored so it was kinda fun to compare his other characters

in l&p he was cold nonchalant while in eat run love he was a doormat lover boy.
Then in destiny brings demon he was again cold blooded nonchalant while in LS70s bro is again a doormat lover boy

everything else bout the drama is going strong atm but what trigger me the most is when Rayan and Wang open their mouth because i already am too familiar with their VOICE so it really feels weird with this dubbing.

he might disappoint you in the way that after TDoBY the only "idol romance" typa work he's done is the friends to lovers one. But if you wanna watch serious acting with serious project this is the guy you can definitely bank on. An extremely versatile actor he is and i'm so happy that despite his age being perfect for idol drama's he takes the risk to always does more serious projects.

This two female was up there for the love and partner thing the most and they both hold prominent place in the heart of ml. While Lin'an was also a love interest (there were countless of them like her xd) she was mostly in scene for the harem drama they caused tbh.

really enjoyed some aspect of the show. honestly, if they didn't go to the traditional routes of mc has to end up together with a he and let ml moved on completely as he was hinting towards the fl to move on with liao lan as an example towards the mid 20 eps and his arc with the secretary eileen was also so good, if they end together i would've gave it 0.5 more,
another arc was the so obvious patriotic last arc for which i have to minus 0.5 more, apart from those this was a fantastic watch.

I just finished the drama and i just don't know if i should give it a number rating .I've always enjoyed violent, gory with lots of stress dramas but this really made me feel very different than others shows i usually watch.
Maybe i really liked CHT as a girlfriend from the very start and as i continued watching the entire drama my heart felt so heavy that i couldn't enjoy the stellar acting every cast has shown here. It became so bad some point that everytime i started a new ep and the opening track start playing, instantly my heart goes heavy mode. sighhh

Well this defers very much on the genre btw. The type you mentioned, there actually is a lot like that but those cdramas are with traffic/idol casts romcoms which mostly made for catering the 16-22 years old female centric audience so what you described is what should be there to get the traffic, no? But I think we shouldn’t judge cdrama as a whole just for those.

On the contrary if you want to watch the opposite of it I would recommend you to go for male centric dramas(you will find them a lot if you just surf a bit) or dramas with slight romance as they do shows mature portrayal.
