Iirc he is the first born son of King Yong and Baili. But at the time of his birth Baili was just a consort, so his status is not the same I believe.

In the novel they randomly meet when they are out in the world doing their first thing. But it's just a few sentences about that in the novel. But they met soon after they both basically got their Fen Xi persona.

Or it is as you suspect and it takes for a turn for the worse after this with his older brother. I also feel like its then Ren dad that will be the bigger problem for Xiyun later rather then his son.

Did ML already know FL true identity?
In the novel I believe they both suspect who the other are but they did not wish to confirm it. Xiyun prefers being the carefree Bai Feng Xi and her father is a really good father who lets her do what she wants. But as Stellaris said they did not spell it out loud in the novel for how long they both suspected who the other was.

Thankfully we will see what happens tomorrow already. Would have been harder to wait for that until Monday. But yeah I felt bad for him during his flashbacks but killing the servants was not a nice thing to do. That particular Feng family really isn't very harmonious.

I believe it's meant to show that his father is not that fond of him after all. A good father should ofc be happy that his son has safely returned.

Why yang yang is pretend to be weak
Basically his stepmother wants to kill him to get her own son, the third prince on the throne. So after she tried to poison Lanxi many times as he was younger he decided it was better to pretend he was not a threat to the her son taking the throne.

Basically Prince Lanxi has one persona in court and another one when he is out in the world. As a prince it is hard to move freely so he has another persona for the things he want to do out in the land. There will also be more explanations in the drama itself why he basically has two different identities.
