Yes, I ment the S.C.I. novel. One gay couple was indeed changed for the tv drama into a straight one. One of the main characters had a brother in the novel who was changed into a sister for the drama. This brother in the novel was one of the main reasons why I stopped reading though.

Hi, I can only tell you from my subjektive point of view. Since I've started watching chinese TV shows Killer and Healer is the best drama I've come across so far. You get a solid story but the real strength lies in the unmatched chemistry between the two main leads (haven't seen any other drama where it was so good). You also get perfect casted actors for nearly every character ... and a cute cat (if you like cats :). This drama isn't a fluffy one in general. It has often very serious scenes but also some funny and quite a number of lovely ones. The two main actors, Mao Zi Jun and Yi Bo Chen, did an amazing job. Give it a try and maybe watch the first five or six episodes. Then you will know if you like it (I really hope you do). XD
