I used the deepl translator to maybe shed some light to the term 江枫余火. It translates it as "The remaining fire of the river maple" (although the tree river maple seems to be written with different characters in chinese). I then remembered the explanation of the characters the name of Chen Yu Zhi is made of and combined all of them. 遗风余泽之乎者也江枫余火 is translated as "The remains of the wind and the fire" ... Where do these translations leave us now, (ignoring the fact that they most likely are totally wrong)? Wind can stand for CYZ and fire for JYL. They are kind of opposite at the first sight. But wind also can support fire, depends on the situation. Fire needs the oxygen brought by the wind to last. My heads hurts a bit right now :)

Episode 37 was too rushed. Too many people died in too short a time. Esp. Chu Ming and Zhao Mo Qing. They deserved a bit more time a few more lines. Maybe I should think about it again. This series paid so much attention to details maybe I will find that all is exactly as it should be, even the almost silent passing of some of the characters.
I watched the edited ending of Taotilychee first. Thank you thank you thank you. It's what they deserve. Nothing less. I also watched the original ending. Knowing doesn't save you from tears. And if you pay close attention it was more than just well made. The acting (tears tears tears) but also the setting when JYL sits in that empty street, with literally no one else around. It was as perfect as the whole series was. I prefer a HE though.

Episode 36 was just awesome regarding the relationship of Jiang Yue Lou and Bai Jin Bo. Just a few minutes but they contain so much. And once more I really can't wrap my head around the exceptional acting of Mao Zi Jun. This scene was so different from the one when the mother of JYL died. However, it was as profound in the way of acting and transporting the emotions of the figures. It even leaves much space for the audience to have their own thoughts about the feelings and thoughts of the figures. It made me recall their stories from the beginning of the drama 'til this point. Jin Da Cheng became really likeable at the end. I am very fond of this actor. He did an amazing job.
Guys I just read a short fanfic and I have to share this one. It certainly crosses some boundaries which the tv drama and probably the novel too don't cross. But it does it in such a nice and gentle way that it really fits them, in my opinion.

At least "White jade has flaw" makes sense and if you look at these both characters it's understandable. Both at first sight appear like flawless people but reveal more and more darker emotions and motives in the course of the drama.
I found out that white jade stands for purity, truth and clarity and that there is a common motif in chinese arts which consists of two men; the “Jade Twins” (it symbolizes friendship).
