After thinking about the episode I have come to some conclusions:I didn't realize it yesterday but it's practically…
Oh, I just noticed something else. I'm currently rewatching ep. 12 and I think you're right after all. Ba Reum was shown taking out a knife from an evidence box a few days before the murder. So I think he really did plant the new evidence himself, but it will have Yo Han's DNA.
As for the knife, you're right. Something is wrong there. I was thinking that maybe Ba Reum took the knife out…
Also, Ba Reum's expression in the scene when Moo Chi explains about the pipe was a lot different from his expression when Moo Chi explained that the culprit is a psychopath in front of the president. He didn't seem surprised or frightened. He actually didn't seem nervous at all, only concerned.
which episode was it that mentioned Daniel Lee is looking for his sibling? Don't remember any part that mentioned…
In ep. 1 when Daniel Lee comes to Han Seo Joon's house. Han Seo Joon asks him at the entrance if he has already found his lost younger sibling. They didn't specify it, but Daniel Lee is adopted and since he mentioned an organization dealing with adoption is looking for his sibling, I assume they were separated at young age and adopted into different families.
As for the knife, you're right. Something is wrong there. I was thinking that maybe Ba Reum took the knife out…
And there's another strange point. We saw that Ba Reum attacked Kang Deok Soo in the field and later dragged him with the chain. But Moo Chi explains that the culprit waited for Kang Deok Soo on the bridge and lured him into that pipe. Maybe the traces leading to Moo Chi's conclusion were actually staged by Ba Reum as a first attempt to clear Bong Yi from the accusations.
I also found it strange that Ba Reum would do such a sloppy job and get caught right away. Even if it was his first planned murder, we shouldn't forget that he's a genius. And there's also Daniel Lee's team who would certainly help him hide the traces. So it would actually make a lot of sense if Ba Reum planted the traces on purpose imo.
Unless it's like you said and the new evidence was planted by Daniel Lee and has a different DNA. But they have no reason to. Nobody suspected Ba Reum and why would they care about Bong Yi being accused?

As for the knife, you're right. Something is wrong there. I was thinking that maybe Ba Reum took the knife out again to save Bong Yi from the suspicions, but would he go as far as to risk being caught for Bong Yi?
Actually, maybe he's being sly and he anticipated that Moo Chi would forgive him and help him hide the crime. Moo Chi said "I would've done the same for you too" when Ba Reum asked him why he would help Bong Yi hide the traces if she's the culprit. Maybe Ba Reum is relying on that sentence.
I really hope it's not someone else's DNA. The story would take such an interesting direction if Moo Chi knows that Ba Reum killed the rapist.

Oh, I really like the twins idea. I kept wondering when they'll finally address Daniel Lee's lost sibling again since there must be a definite reason why they mentioned this in ep. 1. It would make so much sense if they actually already used this card by making them twins.
Ep. 12 hasn't answered yet how Ba Reum knew where to look for Bong Yi. Did his subconscious tell him where to go since he saw the crime scene as a child before (aka the opening of ep. 12)?
Bongyi was the dying child in the opening right? The pink shirt was the same as bong yi's and the puppy. I remember…
I don't think Bong Yi asking Yo Han if they already met holds that much importance. Even if they did meet before, I don't think it was that scene. They were so much younger and looked completely different back then, how could Bong Yi possibly recognize him from that? And on top of that, she was badly hurt. I doubt she could take a good look at Jae Hoon.
Actually, this scene holds so much meaning if we suppose that Jae Hoon is Ba Reum. We already know that Jae Hoon always wanted to be like normal children. Here in this scene, he is asking himself why people are crying over Bong Yi's case, but now as an adult after the surgery, Ba Reum cried for Bong Yi too, so he finally got the answer to his question from back then.
Through the surgery, Jae Hoon was basically granted his wish of becoming normal (or at least understand normal people) in an ironical way. He is now slowly getting the answers to everything he wondered about before one after another.
Yeah i noticed the lack of conversation about Mouse after my tl and the irony is it happened after the Baeksang…
But everything points to him finding out it's Ba Reum, how Moo Chi said he's not surprised why Ba Reum isn't asking him how Bong Yi got out, and there's also the previews for the next episode. Even the written preview for ep. 12 already pointed in this direction.
Of course, we never know haha, there can always be a twist. But I actually don't want there to be a twist. It's a direction that surprised me, I didn't expect the story to go there, so I really want to see how it plays out now. I'd be really disappointed if the DNA turns out not to be Ba Reum's after all.
I saw people dropping this drama after episode 11 because this got too dark for them. It depends more on taste…
Indeed, they really don't hold back on the darkness haha. It's super creepy but I don't mind it. But it's definitely not for everyone.
I also wonder why they don't just make all episodes 19+, I don't really get what criteria they could have. Furthermore, it's not like you could just skip the 19+ episodes since everything is important, you either watch it entirely or not at all, so why not give the entire drama the same rating?
Btw, I also started watching Taxi Driver which is rated 19+ as well, but Mouse's 15+ episodes are a lot darker than Taxi Driver's 19+ episodes lol.
Or that must be why Dr Lee did not win the Nobel. Lol. His tests are not even 99% effective and I think he is…
Daniel Lee is definitely not only in Ba Reum's mind. Otherwise the scenes when Daniel Lee's helper talks with him on the phone, cleans up after Ba Reum etc. wouldn't make sense.
You just gave me an idea. Maybe there's no new predator but Ba Reum is investigating past murders and trying to find the culprit(s). I need to take a closer look at the photos on the wall in the preview, maybe they give us some clue.
Edit: I just watched the preview again and I think he's really investigating an old unsolved serial murder case.

Indeed, there seem to be way too many predators in this drama haha. Maybe the sample with the positive result is actually from Ba Reum himself? This would also serve as a way to finally reveal that he's been a psychopath since birth (and not only after the surgery) once it comes out that it was actually his sample. But then there's still the question why Ba Reum gives Daniel Lee new samples in the first place.
I noticed that there's always at least 3-4 years between the writer's dramas. If she actually takes that much time to plan, research and write her dramas, then wow. I haven't watched her other dramas yet (but I'm planning to very soon), but Mouse is indeed very detailed. I have high hopes that everything will be logically untangled in the end despite the story's complexity.
