I'm pretty sure this will happen. There's no way he'll be cast as second lead again after his newfound popularity (unless he wants to because the role really speaks to him, like it was the case with Lee Dong Wook and Goblin). He was even the first lead in several projects before Start-Up, albeit those were projects with less popular screenwriters and actors.

I agree with both of you. I'll add to that list Do San breaking the name plate of In Jae's stepdad and Dal Mi kissing him as a reward, ugh. Nonetheless, there are still many more things Dal Mi hasn't seen.

I second that. People have different motivations to watch dramas. Some just want to rest their tired brains and just chill for a while without thinking too much about what's happening on screen. And others are the exact opposite like you already pointed out. Sometimes the motivation might even change depending on the mood of the watcher.

Not trying to defy your statement, I'm just genuinely wondering about those polls you mentioned since I haven't seen anything like this and was actually under the impression that Ji Pyung is more popular even among Knetizens (although Do San inarguably also has a lot of fans). Do you have any links?

I feel it's a bit unfair to compare Start-Up to My Ahjussi since those two dramas are on a whole different level, but I completely agree with you about Ji Pyung and Dal Mi being soulmates. Both understand each other, show the other party respect and support each other in their own way. But different from you, I can't stop myself from imagining what a beautiful romantic relationship they could have. I'm certain it would be one that would last for their entire lives. My Ahjussi is a bit different in this aspect since the circumstances were totally different and the focus of the drama also lied on something completely different, but in the case of Ji Pyung and Dal Mi, I can totally see them in a romantic relationship.

Oh yes, he shouldn't cover his forehead haha. He's handsome any way, but he looks even more handsome to me without his forehead being covered, to the extent that I can't stop staring at him haha. The 1N2D members said the same in a recent episode about him looking really handsome this way after his forehead made an appearance when his hair got wet btw haha.

I suppose so since our present time is 2020. It doesn't make sense to me to have the drama end in 2019.

Guys, I just realized that the SST guys are talking about having a long vacation in the preview. So does this mean they haven't stopped working for 2STO after those three years and they'll eventually return to the US?

That would actually be my dream ending lol. I think we're all pretty sure that Dal Mi will still be hung up on Do San during those three years (while probably becoming closer to Ji Pyung in a friendship-like relationship). So let's start from there. To be fair to Dal Mi, she hasn't seen many of the sides of true Do San that we viewers got to see. So, after returning from the US, Do San will still be his old self but has learned to not be swayed by others' expectations and to show his real self to others (character growth check). While interacting with this Do San, Dal Mi realizes that she was hung up on a fantasy and she actually doesn't really like him for who he is. At the same time, since she got to know the real Ji Pyung during those three years, she realizes that she has feelings for him and they slowly start to build up a romantic relationship (we might only get to see the start of this blossoming relationship). Dal Mi told Do San the harsh truth about her true feelings, and after crying another river, he eventually returns to the US. Then comes in a cameo of a bubbly female version of Do San who's also an engineering nerd and perfectly understands his way of thinking. She starts working as Do San's assistant and we as viewers can imagine that they'll eventually fall for each other.

Another time skip during the last minutes of the drama (remember we were in 2016? 2016 + 3 years makes 2019, so there's still one year left). We get to see Dal Mi and Ji Pyung's wedding that has been foreshadowed all this time through the noodles they always eat together. Maybe we also get to hear news about Dal Mi being pregnant and thus can be happy for Ji Pyung for finally getting the family he never had. THE END

I completely left out the business side and In Jae in this wishful thinking but we'll obviously also get to see how Dal Mi becomes a successful career woman and rekindles her relationship with her sister. Just throw this in somewhere along my lines lol.

Well, I'll definitely go and watch it (unless all tickets get sold out within a minute and I don't manage to get one or something like that lol), so I can at least tell you guys how it was, if this is a tiny comfort for you.

Haha, good that I mentioned it. And thanks for elaborating on this! I'm having so much fun reading and thinking about all those cues and what they might mean. It makes watching dramas even more enjoyable with all those things in mind.

Yeah, since he's busy with his new play until the end of March, I wouldn't expect to see him in a drama again before the middle of next year.
