I think both NDS and HJP are very human, and I really have positive feelings for both even if I like Dosan more,…
I mostly agree with what you said but just wanted to point out that people tend to forget that Ji Pyung is also a genius (but using his intellect in another field). It's not being made as obvious now that they're adults, but when we look back to when they were young, the parallelism with Do San winning the math olympiad and Ji Pyung winning the investment competition is very evident. I'm convinced this shows that they were both child geniuses and are equally intelligent.
the only problem is dalmi will never leave with him if thats his plan... she isnt gonna leave her grandma alone…
Right, there's also that. I don't think she'd leave Grandma in Ji Pyung's care since she wants to create lots of beautiful memories with her grandma while she can still see.
Oh my! I just realized something, I know what the writers are going to do.OK hear me out..Alex wants NDS to come…
Now that you mention it, it indeed wouldn't make sense for Do San to leave Dal Mi behind in the same place together with Ji Pyung. The problem is just, how is the writer going to justify his magic character growth during the time skip when Do San and Dal Mi keep sticking together? He's too focused on Dal Mi right now to see anything else and that wouldn't change if they leave together.
Or maybe Do San is indeed planning to take them all with him, but Dal Mi refuses and stays behind and Do San has to leave anyway since he already made a deal with Alex.
There should have been two seperate love lines and no triangle at all. Dal Mi with Do San and Ji Pyung with In…
Now it's too late for that imo. I also don't want to see them together in the end now just for the sake of giving everyone a love line when they barely had any interactions so far.
I read some rumors that the writer is getting death treats, because HJP isnt getting Dal Mi, I hope this isn't…
It actually wouldn't surprise me if this were true, some Knetizens can be really crazy, this is nothing new. But yes, it's so so wrong and I hope that incidents like this will stop.
There is a scene in the drama that contradicts your theory, though. I don't remember which episode it was, but…
Well, you basically disregarded my comment and just repeated your original point, but besides that, the concept of someone being made for someone doesn't even exist. People all have different personalities and you might be more compatible with certain persons than with others, but there simply isn't something like a 100% sure match made in heaven. If you personally believe Do San matches her better, I'm fine with that, but it's definitely wrong to see him as the only possible person she could be together with.
I was just thinking, what is really wrong with Start Up, and how could it be better? I think the one thing wrong…
There should have been two seperate love lines and no triangle at all. Dal Mi with Do San and Ji Pyung with In Jae for example. Then Ji Pyung fans could just have enjoyed seeing Ji Pyung opening up to someone and becoming happy and Do San fans wouldn't have felt threathened by Ji Pyung's popularity.
Also as someone who roots for HJP...hating the criticism against NDS for crying /being emotionally weak-Yes HJP…
I agree with you that crying and letting your emotions out is totally okay and sometimes even very necessary. My personal issue with it is more that Do San seems to leave it at that. What I'd love to see is him letting his emotions out, but then get back on his feet and actually act, and that at least partially rationally and not solely led by his emotions. Basically like Dal Mi sometimes did in different situations. He should learn from Dal Mi in that aspect. He probably will till the end of the drama, but it has stagnated too much already and we're already at ep. 10. Like others said already, only a time jump will probably help now, but then we wouldn't actually get to see any character growth but magic.
How I wished I knew some insiders who could spill the tea about where this drama is going, lol. Three weeks suddenly feels so far away, I'm really getting impatient and just want to know already what all this mess is supposed to mean.
Interesting! After knowing how much time and effort was put into the script and directing, I think this shows…
I second that, this fact only fuels my hope lol. It's hard to believe that the writer (who wrote pretty decent dramas till now) would take two years to write a total mess. And I also agree on Jung Hae In's character in While You Were Sleeping not being as fleshed out. I did really like the character, but it didn't make me root less for the first lead.
HJP lacks the basic sense of empathy and consideration for others because nobody really cared for him when he…
There is a scene in the drama that contradicts your theory, though. I don't remember which episode it was, but Han Ji Pyung said something like "I only want to tell you the truth so that you can grow" after he said some harsh words, and Dal Mi answers something like "don't worry, I'm not someome who will be hurt by that, in fact, I actually like hearing criticism like that". Those weren't the exact words, I don't remember the scene that clearly since it was in one of the earlier episodes, but it was something along those lines. So, I think it's a little bit far fetched to say Dal Mi doesn't like people like Ji Pyung. On a side note, I also remember that scene in stark contrast to Do San who took similar words from Ji Pyung very personally.
I think we can't really say that one or the other is the only right one for Dal Mi. There are good arguments for Do San and also good arguments for Ji Pyung. If you see it from the other side, there are also good arguments against Do San and also good arguments against Ji Pyung. It's up to us (and to Dal Mi or rather the writer) and thus to personal preference which arguments we weigh more.
The way the plot and characters are presented clearly pushes people more towards one character as we can see from all the comments and shipping wars here, but there's nothing wrong with personally still liking the other character better. Both standpoints can be justified.
The list of currently trending drama actors is out: 1st place: Suzy (same as last week) 3rd place: Nam Joo Hyuk (same as last week) 4th place: Kim Seon Ho (was on 6th place last week and 9th place two weeks ago)
Let's go Kim Seon Ho! I'm sure he can rise even higher.
Guys, Kim Seon Ho's Instagram is about to reach 2 million followers, what an achievement!
Now I wonder if there has ever been any other Kdrama actor whose number of followers jumped so high in such a short amount of time. I really don't know since I usually don't follow what's happening on Instagram, but it's hard to imagine that there are many cases like this.
And let's guess where he'll be at when the final episode airs, just for fun. I'll say 5 million.
He had to play a second ML to become more popular (when he already did a much better ML role and yet so less people…
Very true. I wished Catch the Ghost had happened after Start-Up. It's such a shame that everyone slept on this drama. It really didn't deserve the low ratings it got (I mean the ratings in Korea, not the MDL rating, although the MDL rating could be higher too).
I wonder if writer/director knew JP/KSH popularity would be this much lol. KSH said he was afraid he might be…
Just to clarify, he didn't say he was afraid he'd be hated because of his character, he actually said he was afraid that people might dislike the character because Ji Pyung tends to be very direct and harsh. But I am under the impression that Kim Seon Ho generally worries too much about things, it's his personality, so I never really believed that his character was intended to have traits that put him in a bad light. I believe Ji Pyung was indeed designed to be an attractive character, but things went wrong in other aspects (I won't elaborate on that anymore since this topic has been touched upon here enough times already).
Coming back to your comment, me too, I'm really happy for him! I saw his previous projects as well and thus noticed him a long time ago already, and I was really wishing for his big break. I actually already expected him to gain popularity through this project when I first heard about it. Since Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk are power houses with an incredibly high number of fans, it was obvious that lots of people would turn into the drama and thus discover him. But I didn't expect it to skyrocket like this. Anyway, it was definitely a very wise choice of him to choose to star in this project next to those popular actors. No matter how good of an actor you are, people need to discover you first and thus the popularity of co-stars can help immensely.

All joking aside, I find it amazing how many different interpretations are possible with this drama.
