The cast seems to be top-notched. Now, I just want to know the amount of romance there will be and if this is…
Taking the historical situation and facts into consideration, every kind of ending seems to be possible.
Li Shimin (Emperor Taizong of Tang) overthrew the Ashina and other Eastern Turkic tribes in the years between 628 - 631.
One of the Ashina leaders, Shibobi, submitted to Li Shimin while the other, Duobi, got captured and taken hostage by the Tang Emperor to assure there wouldn't be an uprising again, causing the Ashina and their allies to submit to the Emperor.
So, in front of this background, everything could be possible for a fictional couple.
Li Shimin survives, of course, so, the plan to kill him historically fails. The rest will have to be left to the writers...
Li Shimin did not kill the Ashina leaders, so, a lot of space for interpretations here.
I think, it will depend on what the writers will plan for the heroine - if she can forgive and go with her lover or if she'll be vengeful to death...

What chemistry? I almost feel like me and my neighbor have better chemistry than these leads. That just me though…
Hahaha!!! I guess, we'll get to see that happen...for sure. ;)

Is it bad ? I mean... silly dumb plot , main leads acting unreasonably and things like that ?
Someone uploaded the first six episodes to YT (not sure, how long it will survive until Youku kills it), but for an own opinion, you should possibly have a look at it.

I'll do my usual 10-15 episodes ride before I decide, if I drop it or not, but if one's here for a visually stunning fantasy production - that would be in vain.
As I said, being loyal to some actors could possibly get me to watching more, but they perfrom in other dramas, too, so, I can support them there.

I watched the first 2 and I don't know about this one. Just can't tell if it is just meh or I am just in a slump...
You're not alone...

It is certainly not captivating to me. Not that I understood anything when watching raw. :-D But still, it was…
Indeed! The posters and the trailer looked so good and the cast is amazing, but the result is an utter disappointment. Fantasy got lost here, no doubt on that.

Title God of Lost Fantasy Spoiler
Is it bad ? I mean... silly dumb plot , main leads acting unreasonably and things like that ?
The trailer and the promo pics are by far the best of it, so far!

It's not silly or dumb, definitely not, but there is nothing outstanding about it. It's a medicore production without anything that would make it special:

So far, the story leads you to the typical sects, disciple training, school plot with that one outstanding hero. As the summary gives away, his family will get slaughtered, so, nothing new there too.

Fantasy really got lost here as there is none. The CGI and the special effects are lame and look poor, the costumes and settings are nothing exceptional with perhaps a few "fantastic" ones added. It's the typical drama filmed in Hengdian and they didin't even make a try to make the whole thing look like a fantasy tale.

The cast is so good and they all get wasted here...

I'd like to know what the directors of "Ever Night" or "Tribes and Empires" would have made out of it, but the way it is, it's a let-down.

Personally, I'm here for Huang Hai Bing and Jing Gang Shan, but as I guess, their characters won't survive till the end, I'll be out of here at the time their characters will pass away...

Still 30 episodes to go and it's not sure what will happen next, but, so far, it's really a likeable story.

I think, that's all on pupose: I think, the characters will grow/grow-up over the time the story will develop.
I love, how the little leading girl tries to change. How she got the master swordsman to teach her was hilarious and I think, the worst part about her is definitely the voice actress.
Can't help, I feel drawn to thos drama. lol

A cast consists of more than just leads. Just sayin'...

Yeah its pretty entertaining but I really wish they used a different voice actor for the FL. This one sounds like…
Yep! I agree! A little bit more grown-up would sound nicer.

is there a love triangle and is it like really prominent?this looks really good so i hope not lol
Ten episodes into it and there is no love triangle and I don't think there will be one. The ML knows exactly which girl he wants and I have the strong feeling, so does the girl.

Ten episodes into it and I think it is a gem!
The cast has a great chemistry and you can literally feel that they all had a lot of fun working together. Everything's and everyone's on spot and the balance between serious parts and humorous parts is perfectly done.

The martial arts coordinator did a great job and even if it's not to miss that they haven't had billions and billions of money for the show, it doesn't matter at all, because the performances are so good. The whole show gives off those warm vibes it needs to feel for the characters and to be willing to understand what they are doing and why.

There were some visually stunning, high-glossy productions, lately, where everything breathed the breath of perfection, where costumes and settings were full of gold and silver and pomp and glory and wealth but with no warmth in acting or characters or storytelling...

And then, this little production comes along and kicks the asses of all the idol-stuffed, high budget and 'all-the-same-stew' productions - I like it!!!

Love your review. You should post it in the Reviews section too so that it doesn't get lost in the comments here.
Thank you. :) I will consider it. Might do a longer review then.

Back then, eunuchs could adopt others to continue their bloodline
It would be rather continuing their family name, then, because their bloodline can't get continued.

Started watching without big expectations, actually, without any expectations.
Romcom and school are normally not my first choices, but, surprise, so far, I like this one.
Kris Fan is excellent in the lead and, to my surprise, I also like the leading girl (even though, I'd wish for her/the voiceover to simply talk in a normal voice).
What really dragged me in, for now, were the excellent martial arts choreographies! Nice hand-to-hand fights and nicely done swordfights and choreos with other weapons like spear or bow & arrow etc.
Fingers crossed, it will remain that entertaining.

This could have become the ultimate highlight of 2020:
It has a good story, it offers an excellent cast with some extremely outstanding performances, it has gorgeous settings, it has a decent CGI and it got filmed in an extraordinarily beautiful and aesthetical way.

And still, it didn't manage to become the ultimate highlight of 2020...because it didn't manage to keep the thrill and the pace over all three thirds of the series.

After a tremendous and breathtaking start with great character and story introductions, it lost its focus, got draggier and draggier and finally ended up as just another romance taking away the thrill and the at first brilliant storyline.

The women, once badass swordswomen, turned into cry-babies as soon as they confessed their love to their significant others and lying around in bed wounded or sick worked once again as perfect water injection to drag the series out to 40+ episodes.

The try to intertwine several stroylines to lead them to a satifying end once again failed, because the writers obviously lost track of all the threads they came up with over the length of the show.
Focussing on two or three storylines would have made this more thrilling, more compact, more rounded and more moving ahead instead of standing still for numeorus times.

Cutting it down from 43 to 35 episodes would have given it a much better pace (and it would have left some more money for the production team to give all storylines a proper ending).

Why it's still much better than most costume dramas of 2020, so far??? The cast!!!
The acting was top notch by almost everyone involved and the truly amazing performance of the cast in a whole finally got topped by the absolutley outstanding and breathtaking performance Shi Yun Peng delivered as Zhu Yan!!!

The passion, the devotion, the brutally honest play this young man delivered is far, far above the acting skills and acting levels many actors and actresses of his age can offer, at the moment.

Shi Yun Peng performs in a different league, if it comes to acting, together with Chen Xing Xu and Qu Chu Xiao, who are both of the same quality, and I hope, I really hope, to see him in more major and main roles in the future.

We have enough beautiful hatstands with handsome faces and no acting abilities overcrowding dramaland, we need some more character actors and with Shi Yun Peng, Chen Xing Xu and Qu Chu Xiao we have promising ones at the start!!!

He does finally do justice to Dongfang Bubai with his performance after Joe Chen turned the character into a horrible Mary Sue in 2013.
By the way: All of the young cast members do a great job, thinking that it's the first role for many of them and they get amazingly supported by their veteran colleagues.
