On General and I Aug 14, 2021
Having watched the whole thing three times, by now, I'm still annoyed that they didn't seem to have time to give Chu Moran just a single longer moment in the last episode and that he didn't even show up at the official coronation or what-so-ever ceremony at the end.

Chu Beijie and Bai Ping Ting, defintely one of the dumbest couples ever, would have ended up dead, lost, in hopeless situations several times without Chu Moran risking his life and his head for them again and again and again.

Pathetic!!!

this just aired, and someone gave it a 1????
Some people already know they don't like it, before it even airs.
*knocks head against wall*
That one thing is dead certain: the idiots won't die out...

Finally something worth watching. Cool cast, nice settings, nice costumes, great fight choreos and no actors and actresses recruited straight from the kindergarten...
After all those pseudo-wuxia series we got fed over the bygone months, this is finally a true wuxia story - the first true highlight of 2021...I almost lost hope, this would happen...

Totally agree! Both of them are very talented actors. Haven't watched their previous works yet, but I'm most interested…
I'm sure, you'll enjoy their other series. Both are excellent if it come to acting and they both have a talent for comical scenes as well as for drama and romance.

Where can I watch this in eng sub?
Sadly, no one has subbed this, so far. It's such a nice drama with a good story, cool fight scenes and a very good cast. I wished, someone would pick it up for subs...but I could only find the RAW version.

i agree with the camera work and editing skills , the close ups sometimes pissed me off i mean if i were them…
Some directors simply have the feeling, indeed. Totally agree with you. Unfortunately, the majority does not and, to make things worse, there is still the horrible problem named censorship.
I don't have a problem with an overlong series getting cut down a bit, but ruining whole series, storylines and plots just because the idiot censors think it shouldn't be in a drama and demand scenes to be cut out...pure horror.
As for the camera work: One can always see when a director cares for the whole project and not only for his part of the production. The good ones, you'll always find with one eye behind a camera as well.

Yep! I don't know if today's drama series' directors and camera teams totally forget about the great way directors like King Hu, Zhang Yimou, Tsui Hark and others developped camera work. Those amazing directors made/make the camera part of the story, like a living and breathing character. It's not just zooming in, zooming out and another boring close-up...

So far, so good. Eight episodes into the show, I'm really enjoying it.
The pace is good, the balance between action and talking is nicely done, so far, and the performances definitely don't disappoint.
Actually, I had in mind to skip this series as I'm neither a fan of Dilireba nor of Leo Wu, but I find it really entertaining and the great amount of top-class co-stars totally adds to the fun, too.

The only thing, that really annoys me is the camera work.
The same boring camera angles over and over again, especially if it comes to close-ups.
Is this really the best the camera team was able to do?
Not to mention the director. Did he not check on his camera team or does he really not mind the uninspired way the series got filmed and cut?
I wonder what directors like Kuk Kok Leung or Cao Dun would have made out of this.
For sure, the whole way of filming would have been way more in the fave of the actors and in fave of some way more dynamic cuts and a way more inspired camera work...

Anyone else here for Wei Bing Hua (General Chang He), the gorgeous Chu Moran from "General and I" and the badass Zhang Shun from "Water Margin"...???

true. i just watched the kdrama "run on" and i loved it so much because the leads were normal people. funny that…
I couldn't agree more. I saw Wang Yan Lin in "Across the Ocean to see You" and his character was so adorable. The kind of boyfriend a girl would long for: sweet, creative, caring, a bit shy...the normal lad from round the corner.

I think, I liked his and Li Yi Tong's performance so much, because both, even though popular, are no idols. Both seem very grounded to me and aware that the "idol-status" can go poof in an instant but that the "being a deep and great actor"-status is worth way more than any "idol" award. C-drama really needs more actors and less idols, in my honest opinion. More quality and less scream-factor.

Wang Yan Lin and Li Yi Tong need to get reunited for a drama series - doesn't matter if historical, costume or modern day drama.

They were so naturally cute together, it must be rewarded - with a great story!!!
Not the crap we get fed day in and day out for a couple of years, by now.
These two need a story that matches their incredible acting and performance skills...

Actually, it's a shame, anyway, that Wang Yan Lin doesn't get cast for the male lead more often.
He's by far a better actor than most of the little flower boys artificially promoted to fame, these days, and he has way more to offer than playing the class-clown or the leading man's best friend - these are roles way and far below his actual acting abilities.

And Li Yi Tong - no need to talk about her enormous talent. She's just lovely and so extremely versatile. Always a pleasure to see her on screen.

You give 2 stars because of ZLY but most of the budget went to her alone..... I wonder why she needs so much money.
Yes, I agree about "Princess Agents".
It had this certain dynamincs and the chemistry amongst the characters was great and well balanced.
Shwan Dou, Wang Yan Lin and Lin Geng Xin were excellent male leads and Zhao Li Ying and Li Qin were the matching female leads.
The supporting cast was great too and made me forget the many plotholes of the show.
The first part up to Yan Xun taking flight and Yuwen Huai's death was better than the second part, though, and I still think it would have been better to keep Yuwen Huai alive as the main villain till the end. It would have given part two more impact and balance. However, PA is definitely better than LoF, which feels tried but fails to deliver.

I was just wondering, why she went to work with THIS director again after she already knew what kind of shit he did with and to "Princess Agents".
I remember her big rant about the director having tricked her into filming PA by telling her they'd do the whole plot and not just half of the book.
She knew, what she'd get herself into, so, if she really let out a rant about LoF, too, all I can say is, she should think before saying anything or she should just keep silent and perform.
To know what would wait for her if she'd work with THIS director again, still accepting the salary and doing the filming and then ranting about what a big crap the series is makes her whole attitude sound a bit non-credible.

This drama is about youngsters kicking oldies ass , nothing else . Lousy in directing , poor storyline & predictable…
I wonder, why some people praise the "fight scenes" and the "martial arts" of this series. What martial arts scenes, please??? There are none...
Currently watching "League of Legends" (2013) and compared with that one, "Legend of Fei" presents kindergarten fights with plastic swords...
I just feel bad for the great veterans like Zong Feng Yan, Hu Bing, Wang Chun Yuan, Ruan Sheng Wen, Wei Bing Hua or Jing Gang Shan...

Whenever I look at him, I think, it's hard to believe that he'll turn 50 next month. Hu Bing and his two years older brother, Hu Dong, are definitely eye-candy material.
