The sexism...10 years age gap is not a problem when it's the guy who's older but when it is the girl everyone…
You did not, no worries.

I love vivid discussions, so, from my side, everything's fine. Not sharing the same opinion doesn't mean to offend each other.

I always take this as something inspiring and interesting.

Unfortunately, too many people are too easily offended in the days of social media and under the shield of being anonymus.
And too many people tend to take too many things way too personal.

I don't like all those fan-wars and those ugly fights about idols, just because some are unable to accept that different people have different opinions.

Discussing things on the same eye-level is much more fun than fighting over a star who doesn't even know that this one single fan exists...

Why should I?
As I said above, I'm not here for the idols, I'm here for those numerous actors, who co-star and guest star:
Wei Bing Hua, Jing Gang Shan, Wang Chun Yuan, Wang Li, Hu Bing, Ruan Sheng Wen, Sun Jian, Geng Le and some more...
Some are loyal against their idols, I am loyal against my fave actors. Always was, always will be...

No, I have a problem with the performance NOT looking credible. That's BIG difference.

She looks as if she kisses her little brother and not her potential lover. So, have you ever thought that being wedded and being a mama might possible influence her performance and that she cannot act as lighthearted as she did before she got married???
No, for sure, you've not!!!

And have you ever thought that kissing a ten years younger boy might possible not have felt as easy for her as kissing a ten years older Feng Shao Feng???
No, for sure, you've not!!!

Sexism simply sounds better, doesn' it???
And I'd always be careful of whom you accuse of sexism.
My boyfriend is five years younger than me...no regrets about that, so far.
Your turn, now...

That's not sexism, dear, that's my personal point of view.
And as I said above, I don't give a damn about age-gaps as long as it looks credible, no matter if the female is older of if the male is older. Here, it does simply not look credible. End of line.

I just didn't update my progress, yet, as I'm not yet finished with taking screencaps. Means, I'm watching each episode twice before I'll update my progress: Once for just watching the epsidoes and once for taking caps.

I'm not sure about my rating, either at this point of time. So far, I find it an incredible waste of talent.

I wonder, how this story would have looked like if a director like Kuk Kok Leung would have made it. Sadly, he didn't...

Oh, by the way:
I'm definitely not watching this series because of the leads. I'm watching this for the whole bunch of excellent supporting actors and guest stars.

So, you can safe your probable and possible "You're a hater, because you criticise Zhao Li Ying and Wang Yibo" and "If you don't like it, why are you watching it" statements for someone else.
I'm not here for them...

Lol...
I don't care about the age-gap.
I don't give a f..k about the age-gap.
Not. At. All.
If it looks credible, even twenty years don't bother me.

But here, it doesn't look as if two potential lovers kiss, but more as if big sister kisses her little brother.
Not. Convincing. At. All.

Sun Jian would have been a way more fitting actor for the male lead.
Be it his looks, be it his acting skills and be it his age.
Everything would have made this a bit more credible.

But seeing Zhao Li Ying kiss the little flower-boy Wang Yibo, who looks more like her little baby brother than her character's lover, looked so weird and out of place to me.
Sorry, in no way credible and convincing...

"Into the Badlands" with Daniel Wu? Holy shit, that's tough and great stuff. Not to everyone's taste, though, I'd say.

This production can be so grateful that it has so many great veteran actors and supporting actors to co-star and guest-star. At least something to stay tuned for.

I wonder why this is tagged 'wuxia' and 'martial arts' - every true wuxia and martial arts production would lower its head in pure shame over something less than medicore like this.

A sleeping pill disguised as costume drama...

They use a live guinea pig for the dagger? WTF!
I heard several times, that they use fake-fur, but I don't buy this for a split second.
I got raised by a mother, who worked as a tailor specialised in fur when she was young. God, how I hated her telling me she "loved" that job. Still makes me wanna vomit.
I'll never mix up fake and real fur ever again.
Sadly, they still use a lot of white, silver and black foxes, raccoons, raccoon dogs, bunnies, mink and other poor critters for the costumes, in c-drama. :(
I really hope the Corona virus will finally bring the fur industry down as it obviously happens in several countries, meanwhile.

Title Qin Dynasty Epic Spoiler
They use a live guinea pig for the dagger? WTF!
Wouldn't surprise me. The horses in episode one don't look happy either after the heavy cart crashes when Lu Buwei and Yiren take flight.
After all, all the fur and pelt used for all the costumes worn in c-drama also comes from animals that partly get skinned alive, gassed or brutally killed via electirc shock. One thing, I highly dislike about c-drama.

I hate it here. Truly one of the most toxic pages. I normally don’t like both-siding things but this page is…
Sadly, this happens to almost all discussions on drama series, where some so called "idols" are involved.
I'm not here for ZLY or WYB at all.
I'm watching this for actors like Hu Bing, Geng Le, Wang Li, Wei Bing Hua, Wang Chun Yuan or Jing Gang Shan - and still I got named a "hater" by some of those sick hardcore fans.
I tried to explain, what's wrong with the directing, with the camera work and with the CGI - and still I got told, I'm a "hater" by some of those sick hardcore fans.

I don't even think, these people are fans at all.
This kind of "fan" needs attention at all costs, because the only way this kind of "fan" can define his/her poor ego through is creating hatred by all means - and they are not even thinking a second about how this could do harm to their claimed fave actor or actress. Sick, really sick!

God! How horrible! These girls aren't skinny, they are meager. It looks sick, to me. If that's what the industry and the fans support, something's utterly and horrible wrong with the system.
Gladly, not all actresses do this. I love my sweet Liu Xiao Xiao. She's not all skin and bones and I hope, she won't ever end up like that.

Yes! I heard something like that, too. That they wanted to promote Dylan Wang and therefore delayed the production, which made Arthur Chen unable to return, because he'd have to finish school. Then, they offered him a new role as "compensation". Well, for me it didn't work. With all the cast changes, "Ever Night 2" was just a bad joke.

Yes! I'd like to hear that definition, too...would be interesting to learn what I obviously missed.
Well, I will never understand how people are constantly able to mix up two totally different words: Criticism is NOT, and I mean NOT, the same like hate. Never was, never will be.
But, of course, if one's mind is so narrow, that they can only hate, hate, hate, they naturally think, others have to hate as well.

I watched more episodes just to see if the arguments here are worth it.1. Too early to judge? My opinion, 12 episodes…
I sign EVERY SINGLE WORD, you dropped here.
Especially what you say about the way this got filmed.
"The Moon Brightens for You" - no masterpiece, either, but the fight scenes are great!!! And at least there is interaction between the characters!!!
Here, there's nothing...
And, yes, the camera team and the director don't deserve the money they got paid.
Close ups can work - if they get people emotionally involved - but especially in wuxia, the characters need to be filmed "in motion" and interacting. Wuxia isn't just "standing around, looking good and stare into the great nothingness of a blue or green screen background".
Great directing and camera work you can find, if you check on the dramas of Cao Dun or Kuk Kok Leung, for example...but, of course, they wouldn't have filmed a drama like this in such a trashy way...
And the chemistry??? What chemistry!!!
I say it openly, the hype about Wang Yibo, I don't get it, but I can at least see him try to get this character to life. He's still so young and he does at least what's possible for him to make the character work.
ZLY aka Mrs. Feng Shao Feng doesn't seem to get involved at all. She looks bored in every scene and while her co-actors try, she does not.
In "Princess Agents" she had to move her ass actingwise, because Shawn Dou. Li Qin and Wang Yan Lin were literally stealing her laurels with their performances...
Here, she doesn't have such a counterpart...and it shows...

So true.
With this cast, it could have become a highlight at the end of a horrible year (so many trash dramas and not to mention that virus), but I already had trust-issues when it came to this director after he already killed "Princess Agents".
And I really wonder, why Zhao Li Ying worked with him again after she openly vented her anger about him having "tricked" her into playing in "Princess Agents" by telling her they'd film the whole novel, which had never been his plan.
Here, with "Legend of Fei", everything looks even cheaper than it already did with "Princess Agents": Settings, costumes, weapons, attire, CGI, visuals, sound - everything looks as if they worked their way through a second hand shop or a landfill...
