Worst BL this year - don't wast your time on this one

This was the worst BL series I've seen in years. I ended up fast-forwarding because I somehow thought it might get better later on but no, it didn't. Strange story, extremely slow and boring, I don't understand how the famous actors, neither the main roles nor the supporting roles, could even agree to be in such a bad series. There are tons of BL series released every year - this is not one you need to prioritize watching.

Romantic and cute series from China

A typical romantic comedy/drama series. Maybe a bit slow, they could have cut a number of episodes.

A plus for the female characters who weren't as silly as they tend to be in many similar Chinese series. The lead has a clear character and role in the series that isn't just being a romantic object to the male lead.

Maybe didn't leave any deeper traces behind, but absolutely worth watching within the genre.

Slow and predictable BL in a school setting, have seen better in this genre

Really liked both leads and their acting, two young guys we'll definitely be seeing more of.

But the series is incredibly slow, had to fast forward through parts of it. It feels a bit like watching the same episode over and over again, not much happens, they could cut the episodes in half and it would have been much better. Also a bit tired of these school series from Thailand with multiple gay couples without any real plot.

Feels more like the production company has used the series to test and showcase a few different couples to see if the audience likes their chemistry, more than some of the the couples have any function in the story.

Can't really recommend this series but hope both leads get another chance in a series with better scripts and production.

Interesting series from China, beautiful and intimate but with a sloppy ending

I really enjoyed this series. Didn't really maintain high quality throughout but had an interesting story and good acting overall BUT I didn't like the ending, like the production just gave up at the end. It would have gotten a better rating from me if they had worked more on the ending.

Still think this is worth watching and great to see a Chinese series with an LGBT theme manage to get around the censorship.

Don't miss these spinoff episodes if you enjoyed the original series!

Finally you got to meet Tian and Pupha again! Humor and sweet romance in two very watchable spinoff episodes to the series A tale of a thousand stars. If you liked the story and characters in A tale of a thousand stars, you will definitely like this one too. Related to Our Skyy2: Bad buddy. The two series are woven together in these total of four episodes of Our Skyy2.

Too Much Silly Slapstick for My Taste

Here’s my take on the series: It had an interesting concept, but it just didn’t land for me. This is a story about a successful LGBTQIA+ superstar who, after coming out and rising to fame, suddenly wakes up in the body of Khun Woradet, a nobleman in the 18th-century Thonburi Kingdom.

It really wasn’t a show in my taste. I honestly don’t even know why I finished it, I should have dropped it after two episodes, it just didn’t get better. This is a slapstick comedy but the characters are so exaggerated, far too silly in my opinion, not my type of humour. The storyline is messy and it often felt like the same thing was being repeated over and over during the series. I had totally different expectations for this show. It was dull, I fast-forwarded through several parts. There are so many BL series now from Thailand now and this is not one I can recommend.

Cute Korean Love Story – But Haven’t We Seen This Before?

“Something’s Not Right” is a light Korean BL drama that tells the story of two high school students navigating their complicated feelings for each other. The series focuses on two boys, whose bond starts as friendship but slowly transforms into something deeper—though both are too scared to admit their feelings.

The series is cute and has a cozy, feel-good vibe that many viewers will appreciate BUT, the pacing is a major issue. The story feels dragged out unnecessarily, with long stretches where absolutely nothing progresses. It is incredible repetitive —after a few episodes, it feels like you’re watching the same misunderstandings play out over and over again.

The biggest frustration is the lack of communication between the main characters. Episode after episode relies on the same formula: they like each other, they misunderstand each other, they avoid talking, and then repeat. It’s not just frustrating—it’s exhausting. It’s a shame because both actors do a decent job with the material they’re given, and the production quality is actually quite solid for a web drama.

The emotional stakes are low, and the tension barely changes throughout. Instead of building toward a satisfying climax, the show spins in circles. That said, there are moments of charm—some of the side characters are likable, and the soundtrack is pleasantly mellow. Fans of soft, slow-burn romances might find something to enjoy here. But for many viewers, especially those who’ve seen other recent BL dramas, “Something’s Not Right” doesn’t offer anything new. With so many similar dramas released lately, this one blends into the background. Cute? Yes. Memorable? No.

There are many BL series being released in Thailand now, this one is not one you need to prioritize

It is a Thai BL series with a very strange story. The absurdity of a panther and a penguin from the zoo turning into two human boys in high school who also fall in love with each other. Also with action elements when they are hunted by some trafficking guys/hunters and then some invisible goddess who helps them.. it's just a bit too much and so many unexplained gaps in the story.

The two main characters do their best though and the chemistry between them is good, we will definitely see more of them later on. The series has some cute romantic scenes and is one of the most innocent BL series that Thailand has produced in recent years, no nude scenes and no jealousy dramas at all. But no, I'm sorry but this one doesn't even reach an average rating for me.

Romance and mystery – Great chemistry between new BL couple

Khemjira is a 12-episode Thai BL series that mixes supernatural elements with romance. The story follows Khem, a young man cursed to die before 21, and his journey to break the family curse with the help of Pharan, a skilled shaman.

The series wasn’t quite what I expected, but I got drawn in anyway. The new actors did a great job, and the lead couple had fantastic chemistry that made their relationship feel real and engaging. The second couple also had good chemistry, but their romance felt almost unnecessary in the story. It seemed a bit forced to fit in so many gay couples, which slightly took away from the authenticity of the main narrative.

Khemjira feels fresh compared to many other Thai BL series. The story is exciting, and the supernatural angle makes it stand out. It might have been a little long at times, and the plot could have been tightened up, but it kept me watching from start to finish.

Overall, I really enjoyed the series and the journey of the characters. I hope the lead couple gets to star together in more projects because their chemistry was one of the highlights. It’s a nice change from the usual Thai BL shows and worth watching if you want something a bit different and a little more adventurous.

A gripping dive into the Omegaverse

ABO Desire is a 16-episode Chinese BL series set in the Omegaverse. The story follows Hua Yong, a rare Enigma posing as an Omega, who becomes entangled with the powerful Alpha, Sheng Shaoyou.

As someone new to the Omegaverse genre, I found myself initially confused after the first episode. The whole concept with Alphas, Betas, Omegas, and Enigmas was completely new to me and a bit confusing. The series almost requires that you take some time to understand what the Omegaverse is in order to follow the story properly. I didn’t think I would like it at first, but I quickly got hooked. By the midpoint, I even looked up the original novel and read it, which gave the series an extra dimension since not everything from the book was included in the show.

The performances were solid, and the chemistry between the leads was really good, making their complicated relationship feel believable and engaging. The series is visually interesting with a dark, intense atmosphere that fits the story.

The only downside was the finale. It felt rushed and could have benefited from an extra episode to properly wrap things up. Still, despite the hurried ending, I really enjoyed the journey, got emotionally invested in the characters, and would recommend this series to anyone curious about the Omegaverse.

I’ve watched a lot of Thai series lately, so I wanted to try something new — and this was definitely that for me. It’s a completely different kind of storytelling, and if you haven’t seen similar series or films before, you need to go in with an open mind and definitely not compare it to Hollywood shows. I, for one, am now curious to watch more Chinese series and will definitely keep an eye out for more Omegaverse stories in the future.

Love in a violent world - raw, brutal and beautiful

A six-episode Japanese BL series that explores love in a violent world. The Journey to Killing You tells the story of a yakuza leader and his handler, caught in a dangerous and complicated relationship.

The series is visually striking and emotionally strong. Its short length makes it easy to watch in one go. The story is honest and brutal, with no sugarcoating. The direction is artistic, giving each scene a haunting beauty.

The lead actors give great performances, and their chemistry is very real. The story is intense and sometimes hard to watch, but it keeps you interested.

This series can divide viewers — you will either love its artistic and honest style, or you won’t. If you usually like light, cute Thai BL shows with perfect visuals and polished characters, this is completely different.

Special episodes deliver exactly what devoted Sorn-Jun fans crave

For fans of My Stubborn, these specials continue the story in the same style. They offer extra insight into the characters after they get together. My Stubborn Special Episode is an extra addition to the main series, so it’s important to watch the full show first to understand what’s going on. The specials don’t have much plot but focus on spending more time with the main characters after their relationship finally begins.

The episodes highlight how Sorn has softened, while Jun shows more maturity, courage and confidence. There are several longer explicit sex scenes that feel natural and not forced in the story, though they do take up a bit more time than some viewers might expect.

If you enjoyed the main series, these episodes are a nice bonus that deepen the connection with the characters. Overall, My Stubborn Special Episode is a worthwhile addition for fans who want to see more of Sorn and Jun’s evolving relationship.

A tip: watch with headphones if you don’t want people around you to think you’re watching adult content.

Famous for the explicit sex scenes - but so much more: perfect casting and outstanding chemistry

My Stubborn has gained attention for its many explicit adult scenes, but it’s much more than just steamy moments. It’s a modern romantic drama set in an office environment that blends humor, heartbreak, and authentic emotional depth.

The series follows two young men as they navigate their relationship, exploring their sexualities and feelings while dealing with personal and professional challenges. Their journey from sexual curiosity and exploration to genuine love is portrayed with sincerity and realism, capturing the complexities of emotions.

This BL stands out from the many others that awkwardly force NC (sex scenes) where it doesn’t belong. In My Stubborn, the explicit scenes feel natural and essential to the story. Unlike many series where actors seem uncomfortable, here the cast handles these moments with confidence, making them feel genuine rather than cringe-worthy.

The modern office setting adds a relatable backdrop for the romance and drama, grounding the story in a familiar world. The series is often funny but can also be heartbreakingly emotional, allowing viewers to truly feel the characters’ pain and growth during tough times.

The only criticism I have is about the side couple. Their story felt completely unnecessary in this series, and their chemistry wasn’t very convincing either. Honestly, the show would have been even better if this part of the story had been left out entirely, as it never felt believable or interesting.

Casting is superb — the leads fit their roles perfectly, and their chemistry is undeniable. Watching their connection evolve is one of the show’s biggest strengths. The performances bring warmth and authenticity, making the characters’ journey believable and engaging. Overall, it’s a well-acted, emotionally rich series that balances steamy moments with genuine storytelling.

A friendly tip: if you don’t want people around you to think you’re watching adult content, it’s best to use headphones. And if you’re uncomfortable with explicit sex scenes, this series might not be for you.

Stay by My Side After the Rain is a warm and easy-to-watch Japanese BL series about two childhood friends who were once very close, but grew apart because of misunderstandings and one-sided love. Years later, they meet again as young adults—and this time, they get a second chance at love.

The story is soft and emotional not too heavy but touches on real-life issues like coming out to your parents, standing up for yourself at work and among friends, and growing up with a parent who struggles with mental health. These themes are handled with care, and give the story some extra depth.

The characters feel more real than in many other recent Japanese BL dramas. Their emotions, reactions, and struggles are believable, and the two actors do a great job bringing their relationship to life. The chemistry between them is natural, and the slow build of their romance feels sweet and sincere.

Even though the pace is a bit slow at times, it fits the mood of the series. It’s a calm, feelgood story that still manages to say something meaningful. Definitely worth watching!

A Heartwarming Tale of Friendship and First Love

Secret Lover is a charming little Taiwanese BL series that tells the story of two best friends whose relationship slowly turns into something more—after one of them has secretly been in love with the other for years. It’s a soft and warm exploration of love, identity, and the fear of not being accepted by family and society.

The pacing is on the slower side, but that actually works well here—it gives time for the characters' feelings to develop naturally. The series never tries to be overly dramatic, which makes it feel more grounded and relatable. There are some heartfelt moments dealing with coming out and the fear of rejection, but they’re handled gently.

What really carries the show is the chemistry between the two lead actors. Even though this is their first time in main roles, both give surprisingly strong performances. Their interactions feel honest and full of quiet emotion, and it’s easy to root for them.

This isn’t a show full of twists or intense drama—it's more of a feelgood story that’s perfect for a rainy-day binge. If you're looking for something light, sincere, and sweet, Secret Lover is definitely worth checking out.
