As ML and FL (when she pretended as He Rufei and wore mask) used to learn together at the same academy and taught…
2nd ML saw her 1st time when she sold him a medicine and then in the brothel (both time she impose as a male).. just few seconds later , he saw her dancing in female attire . That was easy to catch. But Xiao Hue knew her as a boy with the mask . About 4 years later, he saw her face as a male( it is hard for us to process, but in ancient time, men , specially aristocrats, were with delicate and peculiar feminine beauty ). Show has its flaws, but if you liked it in general, read a novel, it's perfect.
In the novel she was 16, he was 21. In the show he was 4 when his mother died. At the same time when massacre happened FL's mother was pregnant with FL.
I never thought I would rewatch it after almost a year.... But here I am... Changing to higher rate....yet one thing stayed the same- it's my favorite character Wei Yan. He stole the show and my heart. Kudos to the actor who was breathtaking and astonishing 🔥🔥❣️

No,he won't recognize her. They were together at the academy for 1 year and weren't close with each other. After, both went to military, but to different places.
I can't wait to figure out who is the male lead can you please spoil me who is he based on the novel?
I just saw ep 6 , the boy's name is Fang Xianye. Han ling Qiu is ML's acquaintance from the period when ML was abducted. But HLQ has amnesia and doesn't remember ML.

Sorry, I can't remember the name . What I do remember is that he is dominant in court politics and in public , that boy and ML are like enemies (but in reality, they're good friends and work together)

He is himself, but he was abducted when he was young and his family found another boy to replace him. That other boy impersonated him for several years and was sent to live with 'his' grandmother. ML got to be himself again at time when the massacre happen ( on the way to capital). p.s. the boy who acted like ML is alive. There is a story what happened to ML in those years while he was missing...

With just a little bit more of romance,it would be 10/10. After 2 lifetimes, my little boy finally got the girl.🥹
p.s. I hoped for emperor's death in last 10 episodes, but alas...

Hopefully they'll stay on the right track until the end.
