I do think anyone other than Feng Suige taking the throne won't make any sense.
His sister would hand the nation to their enemy to please her husband and his little brother would be nothing more than a pawn used by his mother and grandfather.

The PM pissed me off so bad. All the villains so far do. Their motivations are so flimsy. Like, just admit you want power at this point, because your other reasoning doesn't make any sense. How are you gonna blame the emperor for your son buying you a fortress and an army? That is treason. And then he was also the one that killed the empress!!!

A lot of the actions of characters started making a whole lot more sense, when I realized that the emperor founded this nation. He is the first emperor and the current villains are all just envious, thinking they deserve to be in power more than the emperor deserves it.

Feng Suige would still need some support though. An emperor can be as ruthless as he wants, but if he has no backing at all, the officials will just keep opposing him every step of the way. His rule would be either very bloody or very short. Or both lol.

The current Emperor was short sighted, by not ensuring that FSG was supported by at least some of the officials.

She saw the man she loved change into a person she didn't recognize or trust anymore. She didn't want that to happen to her son. I agree she was a bit naive and impulsive with her actions, but I cannot blame her for wanting her son to have a choice.

Seems like this emperor is the first emperor of this new nation. They were probably just a regular couple (able to interact without all these extra rules between an emperor/empress) before he ascended the throne and then changed.

I know right. So much tension every time the interact. It's like two tigers sizing each other up. 🤣🤣

He's not evil, no. But he did get to walk away with his reputation intact and his future secured, while Beiyu got abandoned and slandered. He was the older one. He was just as (maybe even more) responsible for what happened between them, yet he stuck his head in the sand, ghosted her and let her take the fall for something they both did.

He did deserve to face some of the consequences too. If you think about it, what he goes through is exactly what Beiyu went through (malicious rumors and lost opportunities), so I don't believe it was that unfair to be honest.

I don't think the point they were trying to make is that you're supposed to feel admiration for Qingyu for what she did.

She is young and angry. She wants justice for her sister and she tries to get that justice by essentially throwing a bomb into the wedding party. She then has to face the consequences of her actions. If you keep watching you will see her mature and realize that things aren't so clear cut or easily solved.

Ah, oke. Maybe I was giving her too much benefit of the doubt lmaooo. I mean she walked straight into the crowd....😅😅

Mumu got in her head and made her think he was doing this bc he felt bad for her and bc he is impulsive/has a hero complex. She's also afraid her mom will actually retaliate against him if they keep interacting. She told him she hates him to make him dislike her and back off.

It was my understanding that she got caught on purpose...

She realized that it wasn't in his best interest to run away with her. She didn't take the supplies or his bankcard and she walked right into the crowd...

I was so mad at her mom at first and I still think she goes way too far, but I feel like she's also a victim in this. That family says jump and her husband says how high and mom doesn't have any say, no matter how loud she gets...

The dad acts like he has no control over his wife and children, yet his inaction when his family demands things is very damning.

They were heavily hinting at that already, if that is true.

His world is getting rocked even more and he doesn't like it. Better to sweep everything under the rug, so they can have their fake peace at Beiyu's and Qingyu's expense. He's starting to develop the same mindset as his dad, which is really worrying.

Then again, I guess her toxic, entitled actions also come out of place of love for her son. In her mind she and her son are 100% the only ones getting wronged.
