can somebody explain, why is LYN always holding his beads? I think from his drama before it wasn't included but…
Yes the beads are his, it's become an habit to relax and they chose to implement it in this drama. Even his dog Daimi has her own beads. But there's nothing religious about it. It's about counting the beads and the gesture that brings some kind of relaxation effect. It was a fan of his who recommended it and since then he's almost always seen with them.
We've seen ML 's mother die right before his eyes when he was a kid, while FL' s mother died in EP 2, they are definitely not brother and sister πββοΈ Her parents used to work for his parents. That's all.
Absolutely YES. I think they would even be bestie. They are both resilient, practical and resourceful young women. They can be cunning and even ruthless when needed but their hearts are in the right place. Together they could rule over a city and make it flourish.
Watching the battle over the rating is kind of fascinating, when I went to sleep it was at 8.9, when I woke up at 8.1 and now after watching ep5 at 8.4 π
I think he's someone DW will be able to trust and rely on throghout her journey, but they're not meant to be more than close friends. I think her refusing to stay with him when he proposed her to instead, secretly go on YZJ's boat was a way to highlight that she could have had an easy life following him, maybe even marry him. But she'd have to renounce her dreams for that. And her dreams ( and her little brother) are all she has. If she started a relationship with him she could never be really free like she craves to be for so long. She would never be independent but would have to rely on him for everything. She could never open and own her own businesss, make her own money because of his family important position. His father is an important minister an he him-self is closely connected with the power struggle. She couldn't even be his legal wife, only a concubine because she has no background. That would be like voluntarily going into a new prison of sort, only this time it would be a gilded cage.
huh did u even watch the drama right? how's he screwing her over? his interaction with her are logical. he doesnt…
I think a lot of people overlooked the fact that DW's family downfall was also YZJ's family downfall. Because his family was betrayed and then executed they both became orphans and had to fight to survive. So far we've seen what DW went through but not what he had to do get in the position of power he's in today. And the pearl is clearly connected to what happen to their family. For DW it is a way to prove her identity to maybe reconnect with her father. But for him it is a very precious clue to finally avenge his family. He's clearly been living for this this whole time. Of course he wouldn't let it go just for anyone.
Also it is quite clear that life on board of his boat is way easier than what DW had to go through in the pearl cave, everyone is nice and even look out for each other at one exception, the greedy guy. If YZJ really was such a heartless man this wouldn't be possible. We've seen what cruelty does to people in the first 2 ep, even DW's friend Lala was ready to denounce her if she could profit from it. Once DW's mother killed the guy she was forced to sleep with, she should could have stayed silent and escape with DW, instead she runaway screaming that DW had killed him. He could have treated her better sure, but he's still far from a monster from what we've seen before.
If ZJR is some kind of Prince charming very easy to like/love, someone you easily feel like you could rely on, who always follow the rules and do the right thing, YZJ is more like a dark avenger, a wild card who like he said to DW doesn't play by the rules but makes them.
So if Duanwu's mother is Lady Yan then Duanwu also is a Yan? So how is she related to Yan Zijing?
If you watch carefully you can put it together with how YZJ is actively looking for DW's mother, and what is said about the Yan family who used to possess the pearl cave.
Didn't see so much cruelty and violence coming. Lusi being my favourite I can't see her hurt and suffer
Yeah there's a lot of very clear sexual assault/abuse here. Which really isn't so common in CDrama, most of the time it's only alluded to in dialogues and if someone isn't paying attention they can even easily miss it. But here it's really in your face. At least in the 2ep I've seen.
Nope her parents worked for YZJ's parents. But his family was wrongly accused/ betrayed and executed, so the downfall of their families are related. They both went through a lot because of the same event.
THE F*** IS WITH LYN ALREADY BEING SICK IN 2EP ???? I SWEAR THIS GUY π€π€π€ YOU'D BETTER KEEP BREATHING…
That would be true for other actors, but we are talking about LYN here, his death rate is 80% in costume dramas π«& being ML didn't do anything for his survival chance in AJTL π My only hope is that ZLS is his lucky star because he DID survive in The Long Ballad! πβ¨
I managed to watch the first 2episodes before going to work and all I can say is so far so good πβ¨ Even if I didn't already liked the cast I would still recommend for the story itself. Hopefully it stays that way till the endπ€ I think they did a fantastic work on creating very striking settings for the pearl cave & pearl cave secret market. I don't think I've ever come across something like this before & it makes this drama stand out even more. Of course this is only just the beginning. I think I'm gonna have to re-watch those 2 episodes to really take it all in. Anyway I hope everyone watching is having as much a good time as I'm π€

Just 1 tiny thing to add...
