For some reason the early voters always result in a down grade of the ratings. The true rating usually comes out later when more episodes are released.

It's a bit dated since it was filmed long ago and held back per Kokuto. I'm watching though since I like the actors. If I don't get bored and start fast forwarding, then I'll usually watch the lesser tier series as fillers while waiting for the S series ep's to drop. I'm not fast forwarding with this one so I'll keep watching.

Agree, his agency so far hasn't pushed him too far out of those minis. I saw him in a first major role as the constable in Your Sensibility My Destiny but I think his best role yet where he was able to shine was in Decreed by Fate.

Prior to that one, I saw him in Legend of the Dragon Pearl. He was excellent in that one as well.

Having worked for one of the biggest law firms during my career, I feel that you don't understand what her legal advice in the background may be asking her to do to prepare for a final show down in court. She is up against a powerful agency, who is also preparing for a battle and making moves behind the scene. Korean boy band, TVXQ, had three members who successfully terminated their contracts with SM Entertainment due to alleged mistreatment and unfair contract terms. Time will tell whether ZL is able to pull off the same victory; however, the moves she's making currently are probably necessary for her final court battle.

Watching for the ML. FL is doing her best but the ML is a natural and out acting her by a mile.

Agree, some serious themes but with a definite lighthearted spin as well. FL gets away with a lot for sure, lol. It's interesting as that character you mentioned clearly likes her and helps her when he can; however, he'll also let her die. He's activated so many plots like the tribe attacking the garrison that could get her killed. He definitely has a secret plot other than just working for his evil master that takes precedence over his feelings for her.

I must have missed that explanation. At least they gave a motive, unlike when the gates were wide open and the tribe walked right in to challenge the garrison with no explanation of how that happened, rightfully called out by some people, even though it was a plot device, lol.

Agree, since this covers only 1/8th of the story, not much character- or plot- development. That is one of the reasons I hope it continues to S2 or even S3. Reading a novel or watching the donghua / anime is too slow for me.

I think we have to hear from the novel readers. The father survived and was wandering around the town that was flooded, where many villagers died. ML had sent his men to try to save villagers in case things turned sideways, which they did. Did the father's son die due to trying to save villagers if he was one of the men sent to keep an eye on things down there, which would be a strong motive for his anger? I don't think it's been explained yet.
