I read the review (above) after watching and reading some info about it and the story behind it. I usually deep dive when a movie or drama really interests me and I want to learn more.
This movie is not “An interesting modified adaptation of one of SK’s longest-lasting pansori performance folk tales” (in my opinion of course) as the reviewer states but an imaginative tale of the creation of the folk tale.
The “Heungbu and Nolbu” folk tale has many, many versions and this movie is one writer’s version of how the story came to be. I loved , too, how the writer included a nod to how “The Tale of Sim Chong” might have been created.
I thought the movie and all its elements wonderful. The actors all brought their best also. RIP Kim Ju-hyuk You are missed. 10/10
I’ve all ready dropped My Merry Marriage and Desperate Mrs. Seonju, both earl on. I feel like giving up on this one too! Today’s episode was the most stupid one so far.
Rating should be 9.5 for Yoon Park and Ju Ji Hoon’s cameos alone! I’ve all ready rewatched that comedy gold again. Ju Ji Hoon’s facial expressions 🤣🤣
I put this on hold after watching the first 4 eps. I cannot express my disappointment enough. My fault, I guess, for having such high hopes after anticipating it for so long.
I will finish it though, after all eps air. I’ll be hate watching it then.
Great article! I went and read online articles about Dr. Lee Guk Jong after watching the drama but this ties it all in for me. Thanks! Oh! And I’m reading the webtoon!
I really want this pairing! But I’m beginning to hate speculative articles with ”in talks”, “reviewing”, will reportedly”,”got the offer”, and “in discussion.” I will skip these types of “reports” in the future. I love him and I love her, just tell me when it’s a done deal.
Couldn’t the writers at least given Jang Soo a noble ending? Like saving someone? Anything but that senseless “white truck of doom”. Could he have avoided it if he hadn’t been distracted?
