Even I have the similar feeling....Loved other actors acting skills but reba is lacking some emotions ...for me…
I thought Reba's acting has improved immensely from the other dramas she has portrayed in. Her portrayal of ChangGe really allows her abilities to shine. No longer is she playing someone dim-whitted, sub-standard or have her heads in the cloud... this character is sharp, mature and sensible. And I think Reba's depiction is on point!
I thought the scene when she cried for Mimi was so genuine. I cried along with her because the emotions displayed was so raw and real.
Someone posted an idea for a modern drama for ChangGe... so i thought i'd air my thoughts.
So I was thinking: given the theme of the pursuit of peace in ChangGe, what about in the 21st century, two brilliant rising star lawyers working in competing law firms, fighting for justice, and then have their paths cross and they become lovers.
The thing I wanted to share about the ending :I really loved the fact that they showed Changge's dream coming…
What a beautiful tribute!! I love the beautiful eagle soaring through the sky. It's the picture of freedom... brought about through peace achieved by many sacrifices made.
I really feel for Princess YiChang. She spent a big portion of her life chasing after a meaningless dream. There is something very depressing in that frame where she is sitting on the steps of the court room of the old kingdom. She looked defeated, and was pretending to be brave. Her story in a nutshell: 1. Her one glory in life was when she was summoned into the Sui kingdom to be told she was going to further the kingdom by getting married off to the country in the grasslands as peace treaty. 2. She was there 30 years, widowed 3 times, and passed on like a batton from one khan to the next. 3. She has one son, and she was never allowed to mother him or spend time with him. So tragic. And in the end he doesn't side with her. 4. All this time she is furthering the Sui kingdom while in the grasslands, and the dynasty falls. And she is left without purpose, hope and home. So, in her goal to resurrect the Sui kingdom, she was trying to fulfil her duty as princess, and also to enact revenge on being used and abused by the Khans.
But she lost her way. In wanting revenge on her abusers, she became the abuser. She became a monster. Leaving so many dead because she wanted to bring back Sui, just so she could feel the sense of glory and pride that gave her the identity she liked.
She forgot the big picture. The best thing she could have done to"further" Sui would have been to protect and preserve human life. Accept defeat and move on. She was figuratively flogging a dead horse.
ChangGe said to her her homeland still exists, there are still Sui people alive, they have not been annihilated. She could still represent them as person of authority. LSM could spare her. But in the end, she chose death.
I'm just curious at what is this white powder they keep putting on bleeding wounds and their sore magically recovers the next day like as if they're all cured.
In episode 49 when they're having that sweet heart to heart conversation in the woods at night... notice how A'Sun slyly looks up and down at ChangGe when ChangGe enquires what his 3rd wish was. He never said it... but we know exactly what that wish was. *WINK WINK* * NUDGE NUDGE*
Underneath all the gentle, caring, patient, protector exterior... he is a man afterall. *WINK WINK*
After finished watching ep 43-49, ep 49 is a bit rushed, but still I like it.We should watch the subs eps to fully…
Exactly! They look at each other like they're the only people in the room... super uncomfortable for others, but so sweet. I love how they "romance" their love with the custom of the day.
They base their relationship on trust, respect and honouring each other expressed by how they care for one another, and risking their lives for the other without a second thought, and they make their intentions so clearly. They know where they stand. No misunderstandings. No jealousy. Just straight up, no room for third party. They build each other up and bring out the best in the other.
I feel so sad when LSM talked about his last conversation with ChangGe's mum. She lived such a miserable life wrought with loss, missed opportunities, and guilt. She is the sole survivor in her family, was saved by a dashing general who she fell in love with, only to be raped by his brother and forced to be with him. Her ray of sunshine is ChangGe and in order to save her, she had to harshly rebuke her and send her away. She repays LSM's rescue of her by revealing to him the murder plot her husband (crown Prince) was planning on him. She repays ChangGe by making LSM promise to give her freedom and protection. But feels guilty she has nothing to offer her husband after betraying him. Such a sad ending. Such a sad predicament she seems to find herself in.
Best part was how you could see that she had tears in her eyes, but only once she was in his arms could she let…
She trusts him so much. Let's it all out with him only. No putting on a brave face, no pretention, and she knows he gets her pain and is able to comfort her. And goodness, his broad shoulders just seem so comfortable. That right there is what everyone should look for in their life partner: A trustworthy and empathetic mate.
wow, I can't believe I actually followed through the whole drama as it airs from the very 1st day it aired without…
Me too @day! I'm not one to patiently wait for a drama and tend to only watch when the whole series is out, but this one was special. I was hooked since episode 1 and love it more now that it is finished.
I really enjoy watching BTS for both couples. There we can really see how comfortable Zhao Lusi & Liu Yuning interact…
Of course Reba is happy shooting this drama, Leo can match her energy level: A. Acting: his acting abilities is A class B. his gentlemanly demeanor - he doesn't complain about her weight when he does the princess carry C. Leo is just downright charming - he seems so down to earth and always ready for a laugh
He's let Chang Ge believe he was responsible for her mothers death, this whole time, because it gave her fighting…
you're so right! they manipulate CG's knowledge by concealing the whole truth from her in hopes that she will not commit suicide. Now that's love! They care so much for her welfare, that they choose to be the "enemy".
