I’m giving it a try, because it may be one of those “it’s so bad it’s entertaining” type of dramas. I always say, if I got through Revamp, I can get through anything.😩
Well, I was right! It all played out like I said after episode 6. Ran got knocked up, said the meanest thing possible to persuade Yai to leave her, and raised Dao as her little sister to keep his nutty mother off her scent. I hope they tell us how she faked the abortion because it was very convincing. I guess she smeared some ketchup on her thigh to make it look like she was still “bleeding.” At first I was like, “That’s some shoddy medical work! They didn’t give her a sanitary pad???”
Yai’s mother is certifiable and a hypocrite. I still don’t like Yai or feel bad for him. He’s a predator. Period! His poor self-control as a grown man in high school and his brain-cell deficient mother completely altered not only Ran’s life but her whole family’s. Poor Dao is suffering the worst, especially once she hears the truth! And it’s gotta be a mental toll being an uncle and pretending your niece is your little sister. Goodness. My boo, Sam dodged a bullet getting rejected by Ran! What a circus.
I love the grandmother! I need her to kick her botched daughter-in-law out of the estate and have fun spoiling her long-lost great granddaughter. I’m sure Yai will be a wonderful father. I just don’t like the way he became one.
This drama is so good (even though both leads are dry as a saltine cracker on the hottest day in hell) and quite different for a rom-com! I guess Yai and Ran will rekindle their love and rebuild the family his mother shat on before it could even begin. Hopefully the truth comes out about how she was the cause of the breakup and fake abortion.
Nana doesn’t love herself. To chase a dude who doesn’t want you for 15 years is mental illness. Get a life!
I’m just now catching up on episode 7. The fact that Yai admitted he kept going when Ran said to STOP and that the unwanted pregnancy was his fault is exactly why I have a problem with him. He took advantage of her and her naivety as a GROWN MAN still in high school.😩 He has no right to be angry at her in the present. He should’ve never been with her in the first place. Creep!
I was about to say IKYFL giving us this tragic early 2010s Chinese BL ending!🤧 They had a whole memorial service and then he popped out like Thriller in a bridal tux. Well-played, writers! You almost had me.
I’m sorry, but I’m a sucker for father-son bonding, so I was so touched and relieved that Pa apologized to Chat for his preferential treatment of Tinn and dragging his entire existence every day. The affection Chat received from him was very sweet. It’s a shame that it happened as a result of being imprisoned for a failed “reverse coup” that harmed the very people their family wanted to lead again.🙄
This series was top-tier! I just wish we got more couple time and less vignettes and political upheaval. It also would’ve been lovely to see some JathRi romantic progress! They’re not simply “ladies who lunch” or besties. I haven’t forgotten how they looked at each other eating that cake!
I’m now dubbing the title, “Edge of Cornea.”🥹 They put our tear glands throught it!
Chat looked so excited finally being his father’s boy.😂 Pa said, “Give me luxury, or give me death! We ride at dawn.” He wasn’t going to give up his chiffon drapery and high ceilings without a fight. Chat actually had some talent for military field work, just not accounting! Even in the bad times, there’s a silver lining.😆
If I collected all the tears shed in this series, I could fill a man-made lake in my backyard. I’ll never forget “Tinn Face”:🥺. He went through a lot! Who knew a beloved servant would grow up and come in *Miley voice* like a wrecking ball and tear everyone’s sh*t up?😳 This has truly been a classic tale of the haves and have nots, and how tables can always turn. Like Grandma Highness said, one day you can be on top and the next you can fall. What a case study! Seasons of suffering can be a master teacher. Grandma and Tinn “taking coconuts and making desserts” and finding joy in the simple things and finding new purpose was a deep lesson!
I knew Ki Hwan was weird!!! Ki Beom seemed to really care about Sun Young and even when she was misunderstood as a mistress, he believed in her and defended her honor against her slanderer and assailant. Even though the evidence against him was damning, something felt off about it. It also didn’t make sense that he left with an umbrella to give to Min Ji but didn’t bring along the scarecrow cosplay, but his brother would have plenty of time to change clothes and post up in the cornfield while Ki Beom went out to help Min Ji. Yet it turned Ki Hwan gave a false testimony and he went after Min Ji with the umbrella!
The bookstore was certainly central to three crimes. Ki Hwan also didn’t feel real. He came across as too naive for his age, like he was putting on. Also, Ki Beom shined as the town’s “Andy Lau” and their mother’s precious youngest. Meanwhile, Ki Hwan was very awkward and forgettable. He definitely would have soft hands! However, I still have questions about the sweat and titanium in the hair samples. Perhaps the testing technology still had some ways to go. I will say “well-played” to Ki Hwan. He had everyone fooled with his act. I kept second-guessing!
How many women need to be murdered in the same spot for these locals to stop walking alone by it at night?😩 Hugging your purse and squeezing your eyes don’t make you invisible to the killer.🥀
Now I see why Cha Si Young does what he does. He’s not a sociopath after all. I had a feeling he caught his father with Tae Joo’s mother and misunderstood Tae Joo. His father was abusive and sounds like Si Young was an “outside baby,” so he has a lot to “prove” and takes the fast track to success.
Ngl I liked seeing the chingus rekindle their friendship and then fight it out when Si Young relapsed.😂
I can’t believe I waited seven episodes of buildup to see a stale, unsalted saltine cracker kiss, especially when a few episodes ago Dr. Rit and Wayu set the house on fire with their flying sparks. We finally got a TBL with top visuals, and the beautiful waterfall ambiance, and they kiss like they’re suffering from advanced TMJ???😭
What did we do to deserve the torture of Sri’s subplot? He’s a background character at best. He’s supposed to be making cameos helping the main couple form, not lusting for the most dangerous person a man can fall for.😩 Bath time got cut short to watch him sigh under the moonlight, drinking liquor like an alcoholic uncle AGAIN??? He needs to go to wherever they wrote Jabber Jaws Jumpa off to.
He’s an ambitious sociopath who’s too arrogant to know when to call it quits. I’ll never understand his “methods.” He’s just wasting time and resources to boost his record when the real perp is still out there, creating “rework” for everybody and endangering the community.
i love every thing that you said, like why would you sleep with the girl???????especially after telling the dad…
I was honestly not expecting them to take this turn, but it makes sense as to why their relationship ended so badly. What made Yai’s actions especially uncomfortable was that Ran told him “this is wrong” and he kept going! The strange age gap as classmates made it feel like a power imbalance. I’m disappointed in Yai too. He can’t blame teen hormones. He’s a 20/21 year old high school senior. He should’ve been pursuing college or working young women.
I can’t wait to see what unfolds! The way he was cupping her stomach in the mirror like an early pregnancy belly was truly shocking. The plot is definitely getting juicy!
I loved it! It’s sweet and funny. Din and Hom grew on me, and I’m pleased with the ending. Lom and Kanghan were such a visual couple and had incredible chemistry. I truly believed them as love interests. I’ll miss this drama and the fashions!
Wait a minute! Do we have a past unplanned pregnancy??? Pa asked Yai if he could trust him and he said yes, and then he seduces our girl with a big future ahead in his dead grandmother’s bedroom, who he talked about being dead btw, and then knocked her up? On top of that, his study abroad credits didn’t transfer, so he’s technically three grades behind and a 21 year old high school senior???
Jail!
Teen Mom: Thai Edition.
Where’s the baby? Abortion? Miscarriage? Still birth? Adoption? False alarm? Is Dao really Ran’s daughter but being raised as her little sister??? Omg!
Did Pa die from a shock-induced heart attack?
Did Ran dump Yai on some baby mama drama? She didn’t want to pull him down, so she made up a reason for breaking up to make him hate her?
No wonder Ran is so downtrodden and depressed. What a horrible graduation! Who wouldn’t have Resting Cyborg Face???
I hope I’m wrong, but it’s a lakorn, so I could be right!
I don’t like Yai! He’s abusive and manipulative like his mother. Team Alex until the wheels fall off and then grab a jack and put a donut tire on it!
Honestly, it would’ve been a hoot to see what life would be like living with Sam and his attempts to leave his playboy lifestyle, but I admire Ran for not relying on men to save her. I like her sense of independence, even though she’s very boring to watch and I’m not sure what the appeal is that her creepy ex and two handsome younger men are chasing after her. Yai is in love with the Ghost of High School Past. Ran isn’t that vibrant girl anymore, and he’s drab too.
My girl Carissa stays playing mean girls who want men who don’t want them.🤣 Nobody does it better! She’s a great actress. 💕
