I was right about the NY, once a bully, always a bully, and that too a cheating hypocritical entitled, manipulative, cunning and probably a sociopathic jerk.
Oh my that looked like a real slap, Bo Ah's face was red (props to her in the scene)
Now it seems everyone is confused, filled with regret and in denial (the trio-SY/HJ/Mr Kwon)
I think what HJ is feeling is natural, when you spent so much time with someone in such a short time and suddenly poof distance, it can be heavy on the heart.
SY oh SY where is your courage, you lack it with HJ and your dad. Time to be a man!
Stalker, stalker, could it be NY is behind it or the Gardener sent to her on purpose coz SY threatened him? It has been made clear that somebody is watching HJ, many scenes indicate that, plus the missing pajamas is another hint. So so creepy man.
Now the kiss, I am sorry it is inappropriate, he is hurting, misleading and confusing her again. HJ does not deserve this. She needs to be treated like a person worthy of love and respect. At no point has he even taken her out on proper a date, spent time courting her or even tried to listen to her story, everything had been done sort of by chance or him trying to say I wont be talking to her, missing her or coming to see her because he was genuinely interested in getting to know her. Just simply claiming to be destiny and I act all HJ should be grateful to have someone like him chase her. if SY wants HJ, he really needs to step up his game like a real man who sincerely wants to be her destiny/love.
Ok really enjoyed the two men competing for her attention, that was really funny. Everyone is angry at Mr Kwom but he is only one who pointed the obvious to SY that he is doing all this because he actually likes HJ and not because of the spell. This made him think and now he is more rational about his real feelings for HJ.
Also Mr Kwon you snooze you lose, regrets are realisation that come too late. HJ literally threw herself at you but you wanted to be the bigger man, so now you reap what you sow. But I did like their date at the shelter, it was sweet, and him talking to her at the event was also sweet. When will SY actually spend time with her like that?!!
I just hope HJ gets to slap NY like proper bitch slap, so waiting for it.
Wow really? why so? I thought this character is almost similar to her real personality as she is chirpy and you…
The scene where she is eating, drinking beer and then dancing, that is such a normal thing to do. I don't know about others, I think a lot of girls do those things when they are alone. oh well you can't please everyone .
He also respected and valued the FL's hardworking and generous nature, and despite avoiding social attachments,…
She also was more interested in camping and barbeque but he was the one who was like shouldn't you be worried about spending the night blah blah. That thought did not even cross her mind, she was interested in pork belly. this means she is realistic and grounded, not even swayed abt insinuation. She left both SY and Nayeon rolling her eyes at the cafe. She was more concerned abt made to look bad,
Just continue bashing and hating Jo Bo Ah and this drama but you can't deny the fact that this drama consistently…
Wow really? why so? I thought this character is almost similar to her real personality as she is chirpy and you know normal like most girls. There is a saying by Horace "Nothing is beautiful from every point of view." Means people are going to find flaws with someone from every angle they can. I will say it again I like Lee Hong Jo's character.
I stopped watching and when I was , most of the time I was fast-forwarding. The story is no longer about the four leads, and I am bored. When will it get better?
I really hate it when people call characters like Hongjo childish or immature. Woman literally studied her ass…
I like her. Anyone who can eat alone and go through life alone for the most part are the strongest people. She is who she is. There is also nothing wrong about wanting to belong to a groupie like her co-workers, it is natural for anyone who wants to be part of something. All she wants is not to eat alone anymore. She even befriended the kid in the park, and took him out for lunch. The fact she actually said thank you to SY for hanging out with her, calling and talking to her made her feel important. Noticed how she did not even mention having a good looking rich guy chasing after her. Sometimes all we need is someone to ask us, hey how are you? and that can make a difference in our life.
Something about this show feels very nostalgic to me. It reminds me of the 2010s romcoms written by the Hong sisters.…
He always seems distant and ackward around her, and yes I noticed that too how is always so composed when talking to her but he is not like that with HJ from day one, he guard has been down. Also he refused to take the purse the bartender gave, which I am sure she left on purpose so that he would return in back to her. Then the fake call from her friends urging him to come and she saying the proposal was not ready, it is a ruse. When they are at the old palace, him smiling was because he was thinking of HJ, and he immediately avoided kissing her and ran off.
You have some good points but here is the problem that I have with him. You don’t know her or him enough to…
I concur, it is common courtesy. Also they are all civil servants, who are bound by code of conduct. There are rules in some countries, whereby civil servants who are found guilty of being in an affair will have to face disciplinary action. In HJ's case, she will be the one having to face the consequences.
It is also common courtesy for even strangers sometimes to stand up for others , and like you said if someone you know is getting involved with a guy who is already in a relationship, it is best to tell them.
Having a guy visit a girl in the middle of the night drunk, the optics are not good. Considering HJ who is already being bullied and humiliated by her colleagues, no harm in someone who is a superior asking SY to draw a line instead of dragging HJ down and making her look bad?
The makers of this show really know how to portray very sensual, delicate and soft visual. They have a signature cinematography if you have seen their previous works. I was so surprised to the leads from The Killer is also Romantic--nice touch.
The actress playing the princess is really pretty, and I must admit I did like the princess and Lord Wuan's story. It was so funny how she was talking non-stop and he could not sleep. She was so adorable and lovable character.
The main leads story I read was inspired by a famous folklore. Butterflies to me sound like a metamorphosis like every main character had to somewhat transform from one state of being then to another. There was also a scene, where the princess hands Lord Wuan a caterpillar , on purpose.
It is a great love story, I did enjoy FL's Cinderella's transformation, the slow burn romance between her and the husband. It was endearing, selfless and passionate.
Their dad was the comedian of the show, him not getting along with his sons, throwing things at them and refusing to step into their mansions.
Now the ending, clearly it is made to look like the first episode but there are difference. The first she wakes up, the weather is same as the last scene but her expressions are different. When she woke up after her poison was reawakened (Ep 2) the weather was winter, there was snow. I think it is safe to say when she woke up in the first episode, she already predicted what was going to happen, and then it happened in the second episode where she woke up all distressed and the husband's hand was already on his sword, which was not the case in the first and last episode.
In the last episode we see her waking up twice, the first without her husband, then after she gets ready, the daughter and husband suddenly appear. Then there was the whole get together. Again she wakes up exactly like the first episode but she was smiling looking at her husband shining his sword and placing them behind him. Maybe and this just a maybe, the last shot is actually when she really wakes up from her dream but since she has seen the future already, she knows that everything will eventually work out.
But what a series man, it was really good, kind of puts the full-fledged ones to shame, I might add. My favorite will always be A familiar stranger, the scene where the general shoot the arrow passing through her veil and killing the enemy behind was sexy. Also I adored the little girl a lot.
In this one too, when ML first meets the FL, he pierces the sword into the guy, just inches away from her face. Some parallel there.
There is also some significance to the chime, like an indication of what's coming.
I don't know how they're going to solve this love potion issue. But if his feelings are genuine, I still don't…
The potion is to nurture the feelings. HJ works with plants which means planting things to life. The disaster nullifying spell also has the word flower, which was not a mistake. SY referred to himself as a flower. The flower/love will bloom. The curse will be lifted only when they accept their destinies with their love reunited. Quoting from Kungu Panda- "There are no accidents."

It has been mentioned that the Shaman who wrote the book was dismembered by the Jang . The Jang being noble family killed the Shaman like most people do with witches (burned alive), and probably also coz the past SY loved the past HJ. But with all things magic, the persecuted scorned them with misery and ailment.
The curse makes the men in the family have illnesses, and die. It feeds off their energy , which leaves them all with illness that end their lives. SY dad one was curable but his as it was mentioned a genetic disorder. With curses it usually has to serve enough time like a cycle (eg: three generations), which is why the present day shaman said all the misery, pain and curse will come to an end, now that the owner of the box has come,. This means everyone who born during that Joseon period are now reborn in almost the same position in present time. Mayor= king , daughter=princess, SY and his family = rich /noble while HJ in charge of parks and handle complaints = like a shaman?
The shrine has been under the Jang's care because they see it as a way of retribution but the present day shaman allowed it to be demolished cause the curse has come to an end, as such the Jang do not need to protective it anymore.
I really like the parallel you mentioned with his parents. The fact that they made the characters similar with SY like his dad and his mom like HJ. The sage or guide is a great analogy, sometimes we need to nudged in the right direction, also one must want it enough for it to open like HJ saying people don't open up to her which is why the box is also not opening but she made a wish, voila! it opened. Just like how suddenly all the ingredients for the love potion suddenly appeared on her doorstep. The mistake with the disaster nullifying spell is also not a mistake. HJ is in charge of the plant/flowers and SY referred to himself as flower.
The most important thing is that the curse will only be broken once the destined lovers have accept their fate/ united again. The love has to bloom.
Mr Kwon has received either a yay or nay. from viewers. From my perspective, he seems to be a nice guy. He likes HJ already, which SY confirmed. He started noticing her after she blocked the water from the protestor, then he looked her up and found out that she is a dedicated civil servant. He stood up to her bullying colleagues about the video they posted. He did turn her down most probably office romance can be complicated and it seems he has family issues. When he asked her out for coffee, he asked why does she like him, and she said about his visits to the dog shelter, which moved him. HJ also said he seemed lonely, and they were alike. Again what she said affected him but he was practical in asking her to find someone better than him. Even his colleague told him he missed his chance with HJ, which made him a bit upset.
If he had dated her then turned her down and told her to find someone else, yeah he is a jerk. But it seemed like that he cares enough to say she deserves better. Obviously the move to the same house, kind of made him think if there could be something because he has been trying to push her away but she keeps appearing, hence their get together at his house, Now with SY who has a GF who is also the mayor's daughter pursuing HJ, probably nudged him further into possibly being with HJ. This is probably just male ego. Also Mr Kwon did say he worked hard to get where he is while SY was playing basketball and still got ahead.
I know it seems like a rude or imposing that he told HJ not to get involved with SY, and he is right. SY's GF is the mayor's daughter, and it will be HJ who will ultimately pay the price should the mayor and city hall people come to know. Also him asking SY not to bother HJ is also right, coming drunk in the middle of the night to a girl's house is inappropriate, even more so if the guy already has someone. It is unneighborly, because if Mr Kwon was like an old uncle or aunty, no one would have thought what he said was wrong. I mean she is an orphan too and probably think SY is just playing with her or using her.
I actually like their progression from that little encounter by the window, him actually praising her work, him actually asking how she bruised herself, standing up to her colleagues, their little housewarming date and just sitting by the window watching the rain fall, then him accompanying her for lunch at the convenient store, I dunno ...I find it romantic in a very subtle way.
I just hope they don't ruin his character, But from the preview it does seem like he is pursuing HJ and competing with SY. Now do I have second male lead syndrome? I do like dark brooding, mature characters. But we all know he is not going to get the girl. Hopefully there are enough dogs in the shelter to mend his broken heart.
I am loveing the tension between them.. I get butterflies when Jang shin yu looks at her with those eyes 🥺🥺..…
Girls like Na Yeon are red flags, they are usually bullies , self-serving and toxic. She deliberately pushed the proposal coz she saw him with HJ, then she conveniently started working at the City Hall, then she calls HJ and calls him fiance. From the preview again she is establishing her territory that SY is BF. She is well aware of what she doing and it is all deliberate, not love, more like I am not going to lose to HJ coz she is sub-servient to me.
Oh my that looked like a real slap, Bo Ah's face was red (props to her in the scene)
