#TheStoryofPearlGirl has been released on Netflix and entered the Top 10 Series List in the following countries…
Many people on here appear to be very young. I am not. You cannot compare young actresses with those who came before. Sadly, the world of film seems to be much kinder than that of television. Raise the Red Lantern took the West by storm. I don't need to name these actresses. However, one of these most famous of Chinese actresses, domestically and internationally, is Maggie Cheung. She started out as Jackie Chan's girlfriend in his Cop Story franchises. It seems to me the young actresses of today are really not given that basic training and grounding in their craft. They are all good, but given the right script and production they could be outstanding! Bai Lu is one that comes to mind.
I thought the same when I tried to watch Love between Fairy and Devil and didn't continue, but I enjoy Love Game…
Sorry I read your post and Sheruchan's together, so one could say I was replying to both of you at the same time! I like both actresses, but I do think that Luis is let down by the storyline of Pearl Girl. Couldn't finish it.
Now now, and how do you know that those comments are from Zhao Lusi fans? You’re so sure about it, but there’s…
Firstly, I apologise for my throw-away remark 'international recognition. It was strictly unfair of me. About 14yrs ago my Vietnamese cousin-in-law introduced me to Sth Korean and Chinese drama. As an Australian, I had long been enjoying Chinese films so it wasn't a giant leap. They now take up the vast majority of my viewing time. I find many programmes from other countries banal, shallow and often boring. Of course, Sth Korea and China aren't beyond criticism. Therefore, please allow me to have an opinion. Further, there is probably a huge difference in our ages. I am 78yo! I have seen a LOT of films and dramas in my time. I couldn't finish watching Pearl Girl, yet I watched Eastern Games to the end. I am desperate for part 2 of Flourished Peony to be released, and yet, there are probably quite a lot who didn't like part 1.
