You sound biased, ngl. He's a cutie but nothing you say makes sense to me. It's a matter of perception, of course. You think I'm wrong and I think you're being absurd putting him so highly and neither of us will change our minds this way. XD I won't go on and defend GM because I'm not biased, I just think he's one of Korea's best talents and that's all I know and I just can't seem how he's overacting. The feelings you nurture for YSH, however, I nurture for LJS. He makes me feel that exact same way you're describing XD and that's why I say you sound biased because, for LJS, I am.

You're going overboard saying this is a waste of time for me to be watching though. The main point of the show to me is the political powerplay/breaches in the law system. How could it be what you claim after the events in episode 10? Things are no longer running around their father/son relationship (that seemed pretty fairy tale-ish to me btw). I made it very clear that the only thing that bothers me is his dramatic scenes not getting to me (except in episode 10) and I'm repeating myself over and over with this so I'll just say it again: I love the show, the plot, the story (except episodes 7 and 8) and the cast too, so why would it be a waste of time just because I think SH isn't doing a good job? I don't hate him and I don't see where you're coming from with that remark, really.

Imaginary cat was really sweet and I kept shipping his character with Bok Gil instead. XD They were adorable. And I think I have all his works in my list. I'm looking forward to watching Warrior Baek Dong Soo (because of Changwook tbh). HAHAHAHA All you said there applies to me and Jongsuk's characters so far, mostly in I hear your voice and Doctor Stranger. I clawed my face out of anger and frustration so much and I just wanted to run away with baby Suk and keep him away from harm. ; A ; Bias is strong for him. OTL

It's a great drama. We all know it's a long way before the happy ending in most dramas but I wouldn't say this one is extreme melodramatic. So far, at least. ^^

Oh, so I guess I got you right the first time. But I believe everything depends on perspective. As I said before, I love him on "My imaginary cat" but his co-star in there has even less skills than the actual cat. She's terrible and her character is annoying so it had me wondering if he appeared good to me because she can't even be called an actress. But I know that's not the case (thanks to the rest of the cast). What I mean is, a dark shade of green alone is just that. You can't claim it's lighter or darker if not by comparing with another shade of green - it's relative. As is our perception of someone's skills. Alone, perhaps, he may be good, but compared to those who are better, he can be seen as bad. I also said I liked him in the last two episodes, he convinced me for once with his dramatic attempts and I was very happy about that.

I understand your arguments, love, but I'm not one of those people. You see, when I said "turn tables" I meant a metaphor and when I say the character is weak is because he has few things interesting about him imo - and to be quite honest with you I completely forgot about his ability. They made such a big deal about it in the first few episodes and then it wasn't even mentioned so I just.... forgot about that altogether? I didn't expect him to be smart because of his super memory but at least wary due his past experience and Law School alone should shake one up to reality (any 3rd degree course kinda does that if you're willing to sink that in and he doesn't miss a thing, now does he?) Alas, like everyone else, I want to see him... win. Because that's what happens in the end, we all know that's coming, yet we get frustrated anyway so, about that, I'm just whining. I like the down turns.

But the whole helpless thing as an excuse for his poor acting doesn't work for me. I realize he's sad, hurt, helpless. I know that. I respect characters that are different from my expectations, I barely set them up, actually. I expect a lot from actors, not characters. And if you recall, the first scene of him stepping into court implied that he'd beat the crap out of everyone. I don't care if it's hard. In fact, I like it. I see some people are complaining about that but that's not my case. I think he's a poor actor because (among several, several, several other reasons) a) when he's crying he quivers his lips a lot and his eyes don't even get red so it just screams FAKE! to me; b) when he's sad/surprised/frustrated he does that same puppy face he should no longer have now that he's a grown up, that same look he gives many people for several different reasons; c) when he met with Gyuman for the first time after returning you can feel Gyuman's killer aura towards Jinwoo but not even a good glare was shot by the latter and if we think he's facing the one who killed his childhood friend and framed his father, dude, that's a lot of cool for someone who can't handle his emotions well.

So my point is precisely the opposite. I know he's torn and shattered. He's supposed to be torn and shattered. I don't want him to play cool and kick people's arses, I want him to convince me that he's torn and shattered and falling apart and helpless. He's not doing that, he's not reaching me as an actor and the character is weak as in uninteresting to me. If all those mixed emotions were explored vividly in the drama I'd appreciate him a lot more because where you see brilliant, I see nothing. It's like it's all between the lines and masked up when it should be shining through the cracks. Gyuman's sickness is receiving a lot more attention from the writers as if he's the main character. We get to see what lies behind his madness and all that but what about Jinwoo? Flashbacks of happy memories with daddy, few tears here and there, puppy eyes to an extent I can hardly stomach and then flashes of him being overconfident when he's actually meant to be a quivering mess (according to you). He's no longer a child. He lost everything, went away with one goal and came back to seek for it - there's no room to make mistakes anymore. But I can accept that much. The story? I'll take it as it comes. I also like realistic characters, those cool guys who always get their way irk me (I can mention Angry Mom and my absolute love for it in here. The powerful always win, everything goes wrong when it can go wrong, I had a terrible time watching that and I love it because that's what real art is about, you know? I don't want to watch just another happy ending, just another romantic comedy - I want to feel damaged by how real the story is, get involved, cry, get angry, get happy when things finally work out or upset when they don't. My expectations about Remember are that high). My only real complaint here is whatever he does as an actor. Jinwoo could be anything as long as Seungho sells his image to me. And, honestly, I believe that vulnerable look of his is permanet because even when he's being serious, if you look in his eyes and ignore his words, he still looks like a beagle (which I find adorable and terribly distracting XD considering this is a serious drama).

Anyway, I hope he keeps on getting better from now on. This is indeed a challenging project and I haven't seen much of him but people say he's done better in other dramas and I believe it. But it seems like some take us for haters right away instead of listening to our arguments. We can't point out anything without getting glared at. XD Which is a shame because I love hearing counter arguments such as yours and I keep an open mind, always. I adore Seungho already and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him but as Jinwoo he just isn't getting there imo.

No problem, love. I adore friendly discussions. ^-^ Nonetheless, I've read your reply twice and I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean. Imo, Seung Ho isn't the worse actor here. I just poke a lot at his lacking dramatic skills because he's desperate to prove his father's innocence yet I don't see the despair there? Or at least it doesn't convince me. His puppy eyes are out eventually when he should be raged facing his enemies. Honestly, the character itself is weak imo so there's only so much an actor can do. I am a lover of complicated characters so the good guys are often boring to me (like Jinwoo and In Ah too). But never before I had this feeling of the lead being this absent, you know? He's good here and there, great sometimes, but mostly average or lower. I don't think anyone can be blamed for that. Let's take... Kill me, Heal me. I watched it recently. The lead actress annoyed me from starters with her constant obnoxious and senseless yelling. She wasn't great but she was there all the time. I saw no chemistry there either, but it didn't affect the plot so much. Compared to her lead actors I would gladly toss her in a trash bin but they worked it out alright. I compared YSH with LJS previously because of I hear your voice since the characters come out to be similar to me somehow. And while LJS made me swoon everytime he expressed any emotion, YSH looks like an injured puppy most of the time (damn those huge eyes don't help him but!!!). I think Jinwoo lacks strength from the frustration that comes with injustice. His father is innocent, is good, they have the closest relationship, he's also sick and dying in prision while forgetting about his own son and he knows everyone who's behind it. Isn't he too bland then? Just how does he cope with all of those emotions being so young and inexperienced? I didn't simply want him to play cool and win the trial, I wanted him to turn tables and bring sh*t down, huff and puff and clench his teeth while fulminating Gyu Man with his eyes (lol) but nah. I was highly disappointed. :( But please, if you think I don't get his character, do enlighten me. I adore YSH in Imaginary Cat and I'm not even embarrassed to say so. It's a cute mini show and I don't even like cats. But here... it just... nope. He doesn't convince me at all in this role and no one is more sorry than I am that he doesn't, trust me.

Odd... I never got that feeling. To me, on the contrary, he seems so natural that I'd be scared to go near him in real life. T-T That same feeling you describe I get from basically everyone but him, Sung Woong, In Ki, Hyo Seop and Won Jong.
I understand your point of view but since I can't possibly share it I'm inclined to think (pretentious as it may be) that's just a side effect of co-starring with a poor lead actor, as prior mentioned, so it may seem he's overacting when he's just being great like he usually is. In my perspective, it's the wide gap between their skills that gives the impression he's "trying too hard".

Let's not forget he was a teenager in a tricky situation with no one to go to for guidance. Young people don't live their lives hoping to be betrayed. Of course, to us, it's quite obvious and annoying to watch them screw up but that made perfect sense. What doesn't make sense is his current stupidity, 4 years in the future, after going through Law School and witnessing the intricate web that got his father cornered. That, my friend, is what doesn't make sense.

Alright... I just finished episode 10 and it seems my complaints have been heard because not only they gave it another plot twist (for the best, this time!) but Seung Ho made an okay job for once. He's absolutely cute and adorable - guys, I'm not a hater! - and he has a major problem with emotional scenes. Then again, events in episode 10 made me cry along. I stand in ovation for his improvement in the last couple episodes. Not quite great yet but... good enough considering he's being outshined by his heavily experienced co-stars.

As for what people are saying about Gung Min overacting... I sincerely disagree. He's playing a spoiled untouchable wealthy asshole with anger management issues, what did you expect? I recommend you check out his role in Sensory Couple (or even his brief appearance in Alice Cheongdamdong) for comparison purposes. I think he's right on spot as per usual and I'm not one bit biased.

I can't get over the fact Shin Eungyeong looks gorgeous in this drama even in HD. Not even Hee Jin could do much against high def. Such a goddess.

Just finished watching this and I feel funny. Wouldn't recommend this to the weak hearted (like me). This was touching, amazing but such a stab in the chest... now I need to calm down.

Excuse me. Last two episodes were intense?! I was bored to death!
Honestly. After biting my fingers off anxiety for the two longest weeks, these couple episodes were nothing but disappointment. I don't like where this is going after such a brilliant start. And the romance blooming there seems just so off topic and not okay. Also, Seung Ho's lack of acting skills is really ruining the whole experience for me at this point. After such a long time waiting, episodes 7 and 8 just irked the hell out of me if we are to talk about emotions.

Where can I watch this?

Episode 6 ending... D A M N ! This show is under my skin. Seung Ho really lacks dramatic skills but otherwise he's alright. Sung Woong and Gung Min though... nail it. Remember, hwaiting!

Hard to understand without a profile. lol But what would the world be without differences, bless those. I like Seungho better (so far) in MIC. I plan on watching his other dramas but I think people see me as a hater already. lmao His dramatic expressions are a no-no to me. Besides, I only like Jongsuk for his acting, he never fails to amaze me with those expressive eyes (though his nose bothers me to the ultimate levels and I don't even think he's handsome tbqh so I'm not really biased as I claim to be, just enchanted) and that's why I'm keen to watch his dramas. Just like Gun Min, Sung Rok (there might be a few others though I can't recall right now). I feel like people will start dissing and reporting me at any time now. XD I LOVE THIS SHOW, I ABSOLUTELY DO. But I'm not feeling teen Jinwoo. Hopefully all that is intentional and he'll put on a show on the next episodes. Hopefully.

FINALLY

Indeed Jongsuk's characters are all alike in a way so I get what you mean. I also studied theather and korea has so many talended actors I wasn't even expecting to be disappointed by a lead. Jongsuk gives me the impression to be a real life snob yet I always fall in love with his oh so sweet characters. In I hear your voice the emotions were all over the place and he nailed them all. I have only seen 2 episodes so far anyway so lets see if Seungho will convince me at some point. Too many powerful sunbaes outshining the poor baby.

Meanwhile i like him better on MIC. lol I can't agree. Tha lip quivering makes it seem like he's forcing the tears. All that about acting with his eyes... Can we talk about Jongsuk? He acts so smoothly I feel all his emotions. I'm watching Pinocchio and the way he stares at his brother... Some A+ acting right there and any less than that wont be considered great. But I am looking forward to seeing his other projects. He is very young and those big eyes got me but not those tears.
