I don’t know why this particular 2nd cp is so not endearing at all. I like TianTian and all the advice she gives YMR with the analogies of how life is like a tv drama 🙃 but when TianTian is with the president then it’s a flop. All the things he does for TianTian should have been written into another series as things the ML did for FL
They have study abroad and it looks like she had to care for him during an accident! Apparently he wrote her 90 something letters. That might just be the last episode and they reunite for like 4 seconds at the end 😒
For those with no Chinese language background. Some of the show is lost in translation.
In episodes 7+ when they are in the village, the family starts calling the Professor by more personal titles: brother in law (this title first used by YMR brother which leads the others being more “familiar”), son in law etc. It’s cute how when they sit down at meal time or talk about Professor ZY he really has become part of the family immediately through use of this. As others have mentioned, YMR translates to beautiful person (Mei Ren) so she grew up with the “stigma” of not being beautiful and being bullied. Typical ugly duckling and lack of self esteem storyline to explain her insecurities about her looks and why she can’t move on/up from her school bullies.
the letter at the end is an application to study abroad
Oh no! Thanks for asking about the application! I think he does go. Maybe that’s what the last 1/3 of the show is about. I think in the trailer or first episode they show them writing letters to each other? I could be wrong.
