I just love how the characters are so atypical from most xianxia series!
1. FL does not have a whiny voice and is CAPABLE and evenly matched with the ML
2. ML self sacrificing and angsty sacrifices YET not with the subplot of hating the FL through misunderstandings
3. SML and SFL are SHOWING MATURE EXAMPLES OF LOVE. It’s self sacrificing but this selfless love is for the greater good of their love interest. They literally do what the ML or FL leads would usually do without the jealous angst and stealing them away from their true loves. I know there’s a lot of Yumo haters but he’s really been a stable and guiding presence for YD and now TZ. I haven’t seen another xx where the secondary leads play such stable roles. ZL isn’t even mad at YD for not returning YM’s soul sacrificing love at this time (ep33) and YM is helping TZ get through his new emotions of love (ep34). Thanks some serious “maturity” on both their parts.

There’s still time. I think his character is important as a steadfast character to help BOTH YD and YY through this trial. He embodies patient and selfless love and acts as a contrast to that lamp lady

I feel like they wrote YM’s character so steadfast and loyal to YD that it will be difficult to believe that circumstances will allow him to fall in love with ZL later. He might end up ruling over the three realms with ZL as his empress while YD and YY/TZ somehow end up in the mortal world to fulfill their epic love story where they live HEA with a lot of squishy, mischievous kids! ❤️

Omg this!! I was doing some serious mental gymnastics with QM and Houchi! I mourned their love story and lost love even though they were just different iterations of the same person!

I literally can’t watch too many episodes of this show at a time BECAUSE OF LEO WU. I came for Leo Wu’s talent but he brought his A++++ game. I was unprepared for his eyes and how his body/face emotes. I literally need to let my emotions rest because he’s out here dragging my heart and emotions up and down the roller coaster each episode! What a huge talent and gift he shares with us…May his acting continue to outshine others for many decades ahead ❤️🔥❤️
