Different plots and both good for diff reasons! LBFAD has a atypical XX plot and each episode is cliffhangers and the non leads kinda fade compared to the strength of the leads. IS is more typical XX plot but I think the veteran actors carry the love angst better. I love IS and LBFAD caught my attention more after Orchid goes to mortal realm

Essentially: DFQC knew it was a dream he was in (dream set up by her?) and Orchid begged him not to leave her. If he sacrificed himself for her to live while he dies, could he stand watching her marry someone else?! “I’m your wife!” She reiterated their promises and how they needed to be together. He broke down said he couldn’t have her marry someone else and he emotionally told her he would be back for her.

My bones started hurting from their pain and I felt so sick from the heartache I felt nauseous and the need to vomit. I’m sorry that was TMI but I pray Esther and Dylan were able to shoot that scene in one attempt because that seemed emotionally and psychologically damaging for them if they evoked such pain on the viewers. ^^^ 1000% part. TMOPB and Mark Chao was my golden standard for all XX genre. He carried the show and was unstoppable and that’s how I started following YM. I have never seen CY act prior to this but this coupling is legendary and IS will go down in history too. His acting is incredible and I already liked YZ From AoL. I created an acct on MDL after lurking for months so I agree with your analysis wholeheartedly. FJ and DHDJ were exhaustingly slow for me 😒

You will want to watch The Long Ballad with wu lei next. I feel like he was better in that ❤️
