I liked that scene where he tried to open her mind's eye and moved forward and she backed away. When she asked if this was the only way to do it and he said yes, she was just ok with it. That was really cute.

It is quite different from TTEOTM. Aside from the obvious lower production budget the story and the characters are not as serious and dramatic as the former. At least for now. But overall a more healthy approach for the main couple.
In TTEOTM it was a lot of deceit, destiny, the fate of the whole world depending on you, not being able to do what you want, but what is expected of you. And to behonest that series was carried a lot by Bailu and Leo.
Here it is more like the main couple go on a quest together to get his body whole again. They get help, they help others, they get to know eachother, they become stronger and fight the villains eventually.
I'd recommend it. Try watching the first 4 episodes, if you like the tone of it and watch the outro for a preview of what's to come. It seems a lot.
