Poor Niaoniao 😢. I couldn't help but feel heart broken from seeing her so crushed. If i were the mom I would embrace her and teach her so many life lessons.. But that's just me haha! Anyhow, her character is so relatable.. As all children even as adults always have this deep need for love and approval from parents/guardians. It is just so sad to see her so misunderstood and neglected. Hope things get better soon for her.. Great acting from everyone so far and the dad was adorable! 😂
I like the story, the plot is slow but always makes me curious. No problem, i know such colossal dramas. So far, i'm really enjoying! Especially for the cast :) CSS & LBY love it! ⭐🌛
How the unloved Shaoshang interpreted ling Buyi’s praise about her as opposite/ the worst. Ling Buyi will break through her guarded walls. He’s gonna be very possessive n obsessed with Shaoshang too. 😂 Ling Buyi loves how Shaoshang is absolutely different from other girls. Untamed. Snow ferret. Looks innocent but cunning n smart. Yishang fufu, the strong heads.
I like the characters so far, no black n white or perfect character like other dramas, all gray like real life.…
Actually I never thought a gray shade for a FL . I always imagine that Fls are sweet and kind type but this one is really surprised me. I am loving this more than anything. The way she don’t take crap and being selfish is actually very practical. I am also loving how it is so acceptable given her conditions. The only thing I wish was the director should have added more childhood scenes in the drama for in-depth understanding. Other that I am loving it so much.
I watched all four episodes today & I really like CSS. I like her tenacity & her unwillingness to back down from anyone. She’s like a quiet storm but is more blatant in her actions (compare to MingLan). She's not meek and acts accordingly to her environment. She’s a literal child who suffers from parental neglect & obviously abuse so it’s very much in character why she acts the way she does. CSS isn't a perfect filial child to her parents when they didn’t even take care of her. Is she suppose to greet her parents with open arms & welcome them wholeheartedly? It would be unrealistic. It’s her scheming aunt & grandmother that raised her so she won’t be the kind of daughter her parents, specifically her mother, wants CSS to be. She wasnt taught proper etiquette or reading so she isnt like her cousin YY.
My only gripe would be LBY's character so far but maybe it's moreso WL's acting. I found him monotonous in The Long Ballad so hopefully it isn’t the case here. I think more of LBY's presense will warm me up to him. Hopefully we get to see more of his personality in tomorrows episodes. Visually, he looks great.
I like ZLS here! She suits CSS. The costumes and hair is really nice. The directing is good, not quite distinct but it's not bad. Im glad we get to hear the leads actual voice.

Having read the novel thru google translate was not easy . Watching the 4 episodes made up for my lack of understanding about the family relationships and dynamics and gave me a better understanding why she has become the person she is. Being abandoned, abused, and lacking unconditional love in any stages of life~ but esp children translates to mental health issues. I am so excited to see how ZLS and WL will translate CSS and LBY coping skills. I am expecting the adaptation to become very interesting esp when she meets LBY. Besides the great romance, it is so deep and intelligently written, full of deep love, loyalty, revenge and mystery with blood shed. I trust the director to guide WL and ZLS with their interpretations.
CSS maybe scheming , manipulative, but this only way how she know how survive, its actually very accurate and realistic when you see how grandma and aunt treated her. Its only in dramas, FL who was bullied all life, still perfect kind innocent persons. CSS has huge trust issues, she didn't trust her parents at all (I don't blame her), so she also try use her method of communications for them too, if you worked with real life orphans who was adopted in quit old age, some of her behave very accurate, but her mother only see her manipulations and didn't see what behind that. Her parent also aren't villains, her mom wants to make her good lady, that she can marry someday and has good life, because it was that time. Be good daughter and wife was main purpose of royal woman life. And especially in conservative Asian family, where elders, no important how bad they are, always right. I personally hate her mother now, even more then grandma who just ignorance person, but I understand story and why she act like that, and I think later we will more understand her family.
