Naksu/Mudeok can have reverse harem and people shipping her left and right but to me no one defeats Jang Uk not because he is main lead, but because they have a better foundation of relationship.
Naksu and Jang Uk started as like enemy, then a master/servant, then we started to climb a ladder with Jang Uk protecting her from Gwiyu then her putting both of their lives on the line to achieve their goal.
Now we have Jang Uk promosing Naksu to basically give back her old life. Make her be her old self. This is not just about taking her on top of the tree, itās about making her feel herself again. This is why she refuses Yul, the moment Uk had utter the words āwould you like me to take you thereā she understood, Uk meant to give it all so she can comeback as Naksu. She didnāt want someone to take her on top of the tree, she needed someone, to help her so she can take herself on top of the tree.
This is the beauty of their relationship, they have such foundation and not just mere moment here and there.
They did a great job building their foundation. I just hope to see a careful progress to their relationship. Slow but steady. Intense but not instant, and if they done this perfectly, the moment they get together, it would left such impact, and hoping they wonāt loose their momentum.
A lot of Kdrama or even Chinese/Japanese/Thai dramas that fail to capture the same intensity of these characters when the main couple get together, they turn stale and itās underwhelming.
I hope JU & MD would have a proper love story that even if they end it in sad note, the journey would overshadow the end state. So far, Iām satisfied.
First the romance.. Then the comedy.. And now the angst.. Hope this one will have the good angst that was missing from ZLS's last drama. I'm ready for YiShangFuFu to give me butterflies, make me laugh and break my heart. lol
And I just remembered Wanyin and Jiayin are here too, more reasons to be excited for tomorrow~
Just watched the trailer and Leo's emotional performance impressed me again. I thought he was one of the standout performers (along with Lusi) in "The Long Ballad", and now seeing him in this drama's trailer has me excited.
