I am also rooting for SandRay but let's be real, Ray needs a therapist more than he needs a boyfriend. Ray loves Mew and Mew loves Ray but their love for each other is more than those of friends or lovers. They are each other's comfort zones, safe space and warmth. hence why Ray mistook it for lover's kind of love. Ray lacks love and affection from his family and he needs to deal with that along with his struggle with alcohol and drugs. Ray is in denial about his love for Sand because it is not comfortable, it pushes him to confront the very part of him that he drowns in alcohol and cements with drugs.

Not Mew getting cheated on and accidentally punched by the person he loves, at this point they must give him a new love interest. Top is just sorry he got caught.
