Maybe he took those roles to be the opposite of how he really is.
Quite a few comedians in the US have done very serious roles and they are remarkable.

Those videos are really fun to watch. I was not familiar with him before mostly watching k/dramas and j/dramas. He seems like a lot of fun and so does she.
I've recently read quite a bit about him.

I actually think it is a cute smirk - it is different from his usual stone face.

Yes, he did say that but it was almost like a little kid saying "yes mom".
However, I think he got a strong message from his mom whom he respects highly and he will do the right thing.

I wouldn't blame her for being wary. He's given her so many mixed signals that she has to pause a bit.

We are getting closer to the end so I doubt that NZ will play games.
He saw them on the rocks near the water and I"m sure he got the message. He will probably tell her what happened to the ex.

Yes, there is a self-satisfied smirk that was there!
He knows he's been discovered and now he knows he has to do something about it.
His mom was wonderful - not invasive but persuasive.

I also loved the scene on the beach of both leads sitting on a rock. He was so relaxed and easy on her - poor thing, she doesn't know where to turn to.

ML's relaxed performance on the beach was wonderful to watch. His hand on her shoulder, his "if you don't rest, you can't co-pilot with me today..."
and while NZ was watching.

Yes, their hands, his glances, her eyes.... that is all we have to go on until a few days from now.

Does CX know that he has feelings for her? I wasn't quite convinced of that.
It goes back and forth, teacher/student excuse but in ep 30 it showed that he really cared when they sat on the rocks near the water. That was lovely - he didn't look so up-tightl

Well all GNT has to do now is listen to his mom and listen to his heart.
NZ is out of the way and the same for Yu Heng. So GNT has no excuse to postpone his decision.
He is a fine man, honest and caring. He just has to be honest and caring with himself.

I watched it for Tan Seven. That's all.

Which series did ML play that he did a decent job?

I didn't know he even existed - so I would like to see him in a decent role.

He's a good actor, fine to look at but gosh, they could have used CGI to replace him :-)

Ok, enough - we need to find some really good series that doesn't consume our time and have good writing.

At this point, I agree with you. In the beginning, I really liked this drama but the problem is with GNT's one-dimensional personality has become pretty static.
I thought he would change midway, at least a little.

Yes, GNT is very nice looking and CX is also very pretty but a series needs more than that to advance at a normal level, not having 34-45 episodes of the same and finally a resolution.

I think some of the problems with this series, as much as I like the two main actors is that GNT is too one-dimensional. He has no highs and has no highs and no lows.
And CX doesn't ask enough questions to find out what GNT is all about.
That does not make an interesting part.

I think the romance is coming too late. I would have preferred it to come around ep 25 or less and then have the CPL as co-pilots.

We might have to wait for 6 more episodes I understand. That is almost till the end.

GNT was too one-dimensional. That would be my biggest complaint.
