Where can one see this Vincenzo: Special? I can't find it on US Netflix. Thank you!

He was tops in Burning - my most favorite movie of all times. It's on Netflix, and Viki.com. Also Chicago Typewriter - wow.

Besides the excellent acting in Vincenzo, the classical music selected is really outstanding and all add to the performances and suspense, I thank those old master composers - I bet they never thought that they would be playing their compositions in a Mafia-Korean drama!

I read the same thing. Language teachers can be treacherous :-) Interviews with him are interesting - he's calm, thoughtful, and no ego. I wish there were more on youtube.

Italian is my first language so when SJK messed it up a bit in earlier eps, I super cringed but on Ep 18, it came out clear and exact. In an interview he said he had never been to Italy - would be a really interesting YouTube travel piece of him doing that. He's a perfect actor - incredible.

He's one fantastic actor - with his cool, cold handsome face, he really pulled it through on 17-18. Even his Italian got better towards the end :-)

I think there was too much of the town ladies in CLOY but it is the same here. However, in Vincenzo, they are kind of varied in a way, all looking for the gold. I'm saving both of latest episodes for tomorrow. Then I'll see one after the other :-) I'm wondering if they have removed the "romance" between the ML and FL. Now really curious.

You said it so well! I agree with you, starting from the main leads to all the others. What do viewers expect? We are not going to get a Parasite type dramas because that was one movie not a series and it broke all records. However Joong-Ki did a marvelous job as Vincenzo - and he never even visited Italy! Jun Woo was remarkable too. The story, the acting, it deserves some awards and so does Netflix for taking, a chance on Vincenzo.

I think the tenant side scenes are interesting. They give a certain amount of relief from the tenseness. Remember CLOY where the writers gave a lot of scenes to the town ladies, actually more than what I wanted at the time. However, in retrospect, it gave a lot of depth to CLOY and I'm glad they did that. Same for the tenants, let them be there!

It was a fun16 episodes. ML was charming and good looking, FL (from CLOY) was interestingly real and different - but in a positive way - I wouldn't miss it - ending was nice too.

Memories of Alhambra was excellent but strange ending - needed Season 2. Human too was perfect, even the ending.

I use Viki, Netflix and IQ. And many times Youtube (using ads free app) )dramas. That's my entertainment especially with Covid, we have not been able to go anywhere. But still, Asian dramas are the best. One day, when the spirit moves me, I'll try to write a list of my most favorite Asian dramas/movies and why! Spirit not there yet. Yes, foreign films in general are much better.

Korea made two sci-fi dramas that were excellent: Memories of Alhambra and Are you Human? However I don't know what their budget was for either.

Remember, the big American money movie machines saw Parasite's success and now they are going to Americanize Asian movies. I agree, episodes are too long (except for Japanese ones) and the second male or female contest is getting very annoying. There are a few things that should be changed, just like the holding of hands for 30 or 40 year olds, not too realistic and rather submissive female leads is another problem.

I've watched Western movies/series for a very long time. I discovered Asian movies/dramas and I've dropped all American movies/dramas. One problem is the female roles are still usually submissive or indirect with few exceptions. That is still my hangup but all in all, I have not watched a Western movie/drama in a long time.

Thanks for the suggestions and I've watched Flower of Evil. Although the amnesia at the end was useless at best. FOE is one of the best series I've watched. Thanks again. Yes, Song is amazing especially in Vincenzo. His stoic face, eye expressions, fantastic!
