I didn't realize that Choice was a C drama. I try to look at the drama itself instead of where it came from. Good point Nanoush and thank you for bringing that difference out!

Comparison between Best Choice Ever (on IQ.com) and Queen of Tears (on Netflix):

I am currently watching Best Choice Ever (ep 16/37) and Queen of Tears (ep 12/16).

Queen of Tears was excellent up to a few episodes but the last few episodes, IMHO, have gone steadily down. (from 8.8 to about 8.2).
If it weren't for the excellent actors to save it, it would be just another K-series.

However, Best Choice Ever is becoming my number 1 choice (at least for now) between the two series.

Just watch toward the end of ep 16 of Choice. Beautiful camera work, great acting, and the beginning of a relationship between the leads and the wise grandmother are exquisitely done.

Some might say that the FL's mother is the problem with the series. Yes, she is. She is awful, intruding, and controlling. I hope her issues just go away or maybe she can go away, quietly,

I might change my mind about Best Choice but for now, it is my number one pick.

Actually, I find PSH the most interesting character of all the characters in this series.
I liked him so much in Into The Ring. He is multi-talented because he can take different roles and play a different person.
What is strange for me is that PSH looks different in each series he plays in.
That takes talent.

I have watched up to ep 10 and I am enjoying every minute of it -
No dull moments, It's a nice drama -
Drama queen mother, beat down father, two obedient children (adult), and some interesting office maneuvers.
I can see romance in the air. Only 1/4 way through.
Fun!

Without YAI, I am not watching it. Cowardly Netflix.

Yes, I think the ending felt unsatisfying. Why the one-year skip? Otherwise, it was a lovely series and well-acted.

I agree - the FL abused him in all sorts of ways and he took it.
When a man abuses a woman it is awful but the other way is just as bad.
I felt her character was obnoxious, rude, and loud - yes she may have meant well but she was hard to take.

Agree with you. I am watching the ML in Queen of Tears. A completely different role and he looks quite different.
I like his acting very much and a very nice looking man besides.
The ML in this series was overrun by the FL who was over the top in her actions.

At first, she was entertaining but it kept on going so it lost its fun a bit!!

I hope so too. The story had great possibilities - Besides the 2 main leads, I feel that Park Sung Hoon adds some interesting mystery to the story too. Yes, he is hateful but interesting too. The nutty aunt who loudly cries and cries, really annoys me and too much time is spent on her temper tantrums. Begone Aunt. Let's see what happens in just a few hours.

Both Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won's screen time seems limited.
Soo Hyun was fantastic in It's OK Not To Be OK and Ji Won was also great in Liberation Notes but this series, although it holds a lot of my interest, doesn't seem to bring out the best talents of both leads. Not enough screen time for them. Only 7 episodes left and hope there is a lot more screen time for both.

I agree with everything you said but what gets on my last nerve is the Aunt who cries incessantly, nonstop. She is annoying. Otherwise, very enjoyable and well done.
But as you said, more time with the 2 main leads.

The ending, with the phony bridegroom, was extra silly. And no family was there. Oh well, next drama - no rewatch I checked the box.

Liked him in My Liberation Notes. A really good actor.
