During the five years time jump, the writer fell asleep, went on vacation, didn't show up for work. He should…
QAS - I am really laughing out loud at what you said!!!! I guess you were too!! Ep 39 really needed rewriting - if it hadn't been for one of our MDL members, I would not have understood that the main couple was still together during the 5-year leap. She clarified it pointing out the montage the FL showed to the college audience that the main couple were still together.
The writer snuck it in during his/her vacation :-)
They were together for those 5 yrs, i think its implied during the montage where she discusses about the danmin…
Thank you for your explanation. The FL made a presentation to a large group of students. After that 2 students approached her and wanted to be connected to the ML.
When you use the word 'Montage", where they look at each other lovingly, implying that they were together, when did the Montage occur relative to her presentation to the college students?
I must have missed something - you are really good at spotting things. I will go back again (!) and watch after she and the ML hug each other in the hospital to see if I can spot what you are saying.
Thank you again so much - !
Yes, the ending was a bit patchy, but this was a wonderful series to watch nevertheless.
@love movies Lol dnt feel lost we all were lol... they wer together for 5years busy with their lives... the writers…
Being an American, I was used to American movies. I wasn't too happy with them. However, 10 years ago I subscribed to Netflix and began watching movies/series from different nations. But then I slipped into watching Asian series/movies and I completely switched to that genre. Little did I know about the difference between the J, C, K, and T/dramas - but little by little I became more focused on the K series, enjoying them more and more. Recently, I started getting really interested in the C series. I feel that K dramas, in most K dramas recently have lost some of their significance, for me. Still, the C/dramas keep waving their flag but they are more interesting subject-wise. I loved Road Home, and many of the recent C/dramas shown. Interesting that C/dramas have some very pretty OST also.

Jo24, you said it so well. I must admit, however, I'm getting more interested in C/dramas than K/dramas. I never thought I would say that. There has been a lot of improvement in the story and the actors. The problem is that C/dramas are still too long, whereas K/dramas are mostly 16 episodes and J/dramas are even fewer.
Yes, the 3-year delay release created a problem with its exposure. I hope, as I said, that they act together again but for me, only modern dramas, not historical ones. But that is just me.
The camera work from the director was excellent too - the close-ups of the 2 main leads, especially the ML were well done in particular.

So true - as I replied, that I had forgotten about the 2 students who looked so eager. I have to look at it again - but you are right BreezeC. I guess I just eagerly wanted more time to watch them both after they reconciled. I just want to see the main couple in another modern romance series. I like both leads so much.

Thank you Jo24!
Makes perfect sense Jo24. The writer filled in the SML's happy moments with their child but did not fill in the main focus on the main couple, Oh well, I didn't read the book but if I had I would have been more disappointed. I still have to say, I enjoyed this series a lot.

OMG!!! I forgot about the 2 students and their conversation with the FL. That is right - they did say that he introduced himself as her boyfriend. I guess, greedy me, I wanted more conversations between them from when she left the hospital to the proposal.
The proposal was perfect - I wish those two would act again in a series, but a modern series, not historical. They are perfect!!

I agree, he is adorably precious! Thank you for the reply!!!! I watched the ending twice and still could not find continuity. Were they together or what? I wish the writers would have given us some glimpses of the main couple after she left the hospital. When she was giving the lecture, he should have been there as support, then we would have known that they were still together during the 5-year leap.
Not asking for much, just better writing at the end.
I loved this series, the actors, the story, and everything about it was well done- I scored it an 8.5.
But, On Ep 39: There is only one thing I have a question about - the 5-year leap - what happened during those 5 years? Did the couple see each other and share time together or what? Or did they go their separate ways?
Then we see them meet at the FL's grandmother's old house that the ML had purchased and they make their vows and kiss but again during that 5 year leap, did they even see each other?
Does anyone have any idea what happened in the 5-year leap?
ep 36 where yunshen started sobbing while sending voice messages to zhu jiu... cried during that part... can really…
He's one of the best I've seen of the C/drama actors. Watched ep 39.5 which is a summary and comments from the leads. Yunshen in interviews is quite different from the Yunshen in the series.
80% of the Show: Love Story of FYS and ZJ: Car accident, spanked, slapped, asphyxiated, stabbed.19% FYS mom and…
I agree with everything you said. What I found annoying is the last episode 39 where there is a time skip of 5 years.
Why did they have the time skip where nothing was shown during that period of time? That made no sense.
We get very little of the FYS and ZJ after the FL was saved except for her mental state. Then we see a presentation that she made before a student audience which made little sense. Where was the ML?
And then a short HEA ending -
I still enjoyed the series but for me, not a rewatch - too much angst and not enough main couple togetherness.
Well the story is great, the series is melodramatic but its quite likeable. The other thing which I want to say…
We are watching it because it is so good despite being so melodramatic. It is hard to watch but the acting is so convincing - really excellent. Well said Sidann!!
I guess you were too!!

Oh well, thank you for your humor - and truth!
YOU WERE RIGHT!!!!
Now I feel better about the ending. Thank you so much for clarifying it for me.
On with the next series.
