I Hope The Law Of Gravity Pulls Me Away From Shows Like This

This show is honestly just a mess, it's very short which I love but the shortness of each episode being 20 minutes long and it having 8 episodes in total makes the storyline messier and unfinished mostly when they try to do sort of a slow burn type of thing, it just doesn't play together. The chemistry isn't there, it felt like the characters just caught feelings from one another in a second instead of it building. And this goes for both main and side characters, I liked the side characters better and wish I had seen more of their story in more detail. The ending was just so bad, it felt once again very unfinished, and let's not glaze over the literal SA happening at the last episode too. Everything is just so wrong in so many levels. But honestly it's a Chinese BL so it's very hard to come across good Chinese BL. Anyway this is a solid 6. The quality of the show isn't good plot wise and it felt very low budget.

Cute, Funny, Soft Show

I really liked this show, it had its funny aspects, sad aspects, and romantic aspects. Everything plays well, it's a very non-serious show but at the same time somewhat serious? I really like the whole story and how each episode has its little funny moments and it's not constantly depressing or serious all the time. Its definitely something worth watching if you just want something very chill, the plot wasn't crazy and it had its flaws, main flaw about the story that I just kept thinking about almost every episode was how Junior (Penguin) didn't feel hot like constantly, I mean he seemed to grow up in a cold environment so normally he would be used to the cold and be bothered by the heat, which is what we saw in the beginning, but afterwards he kind of just was ok with the heat and instead would feel cold at times too. Maybe he's one of those penguins that can adapt to different climates and adapted to the hot weather making him more prone to getting cold and feeling cold, but idk much about penguins, its just a silly thought that kept racing around my mind each episode. Anyway, I rate this show a 8.5/10 super quick fun watch, for once in a while I didn't feel like skipping through and watched till the end.

I’m Gonna Keep This Review Simple

-Weak plot
-Highkey boring
-Not captivating in the first episodes
-Mediocre acting
-Highkey boring… oh wait I already said that
-Good production but doesn’t matter
-Dissatisfaction
-Disappointed
-Dropped

Hurts me to rate this lower than a 7, but on the very rare scenarios where I rate dropped shows lower than 7 even when the production is good and stuff, I will have to say the motivation to finish this is low and it’s getting LOWER every second I watch.

6.5/10

I Can't Stop Thinking About The Museum Statue

Before I direct my attention to the plot of this BL I just wanna talk about that statue, it's so powerful and beautiful the way it was made to speak so loud yet it will never say a word. I honestly don't know if its possible to see that statue irl but if there is you best believe that's going in my bucket list because I fell in love with how beautiful and powerful that statue is. But anyway, this BL is pretty good, I didn't have many high hopes in the beginning, I thought to myself "another predictable Japanese BL" and even though it is predictable, I was still hooked. The chemistry was really good, and the tension was there. I really liked the scenes where Sei and Hagiwara would be together. I also like how different this BL is from majority of JBL where the plot is very very similar, in this one it's about 2 guys who are basically being held from having intimate moments with people they love and are just basically craving a moment like that which is completely normal, I like how this show normalizes the fact that wanting to be sexually active even if its considered "a lot" for some people is completely normal, everyone has a different sex drive. But it also normalizes people who may not be ok with being as sexually active or being in the spectrum of asexuality. Both are so valid and understandable, but in this show these clash and it becomes a conflict, I think even though Kaori felt this way she still could've talked about it to Hagiwara and come to terms together as a couple, or maybe if she had things could've ended better, I do believe she could've handled this differently and could have been a bit less selfish. One thing that is still on my mind is the fact that Sei basically got TW TW TW TW TW (r*aped) by Fuji, they literally went past that like it was nothing and so did the characters, like this isn't something you wake up the next day and say "Im sorry" like hello? And the fact that Sei apologized to Fuji too... this whole "friendship" was just toxic. I noticed since I first started seeing them that Fuji 100% saw Sei as a possession he can keep rather than a best friend/lover. I don't get why hide ur feelings when Sei is obviously also interested in Fuji. I did not get that at all. And then Fuji has the audacity to get jealous over Sei being intimate with Hagiwara even though I'm sure for a while Sei has tried to do so with Fuji but he just kept refusing. Again it's giving possessive and toxic. I hope after Hagiwara and Sei have their little happily ever after, I hope Fuji never returns, because he's not a friend, he shouldn't be near Sei. But yeah, I'm glad this was a short BL, made it so much easier to watch, I do hate when theres like 8 episodes and the last one is a filler episode, but for this one I just had wished we had a couple minutes more seeing Sei and Hagiwara happier together. But regardless I'm satisfied knowing they got together at the end, I got scared when I saw there was like 3 minutes left and Hagiwara was deleting Sei's contact and everything I was like "OMG plot twist" but no hehe. I'm happy. I rate this 8/10

Super Cute

I really liked this show, I thought I wouldn't like it much but it was very cute and wholesome a lot of the times. Ofc it had its dark moments but at the end everyone got their happy ending and everything was good. I really liked every character and the couples, I love all the chemistry that was shown. I think for a show that was aired in 2023 it's not bad, I've seen worse made in 2024 or 2025. Ofc it has its flaws but they're honestly so easy to just ignore and still enjoy. I really like how realistic the characters are at acting like teenagers, mainly Kanghan, he was so back and forth with his decisions and sometimes they made no sense but that's literally how teens act mostly in very difficult situations that are hard to understand or process. I do wish we had seen more of certain actors like Guy and Nawa, I know we got some scenes with them but not until the end did they lowkey just confess and start dating, but I liked their enemies to lovers relationship. Another one is Saifah and Name, I can't tell if in the show they were trying to perceive them as possible lovers or just really good friends but regardless their relationship/friendship was really cute and I wish I had seen more. And lastly its Max and Auto, Pimfah and Napdao, I feel like these are also pretty confusing as to if they're were trying to perceive them as a couple or just really good friends, I think maybe Pimfah and Napdao were eventually gonna become more than friends but I'm not too sure about Max and Auto, I think they were just good friends but I repeat myself from another review I had made, I would love to see chubby characters main in a BL show or at least have a BL relationship even as a side character I feel like that would be so cute, they're always seen as the funny characters or being bullied etc. But we stay dreaming. Anyway, it was a nice show! I really enjoyed it and I recommend it.

Not Bad!

Okay so at first I was getting scared, I thought to myself “Oh god it’s gonna be bad” because it started off very slow, there wasn’t anything eye catching for me or anything that kept me wanting to watch more but I still gave it a try and continued cause I thought the story could be cute. Thankfully I was patient and continued watching, and it was worth it. The story got better, things escalated, we got shown more emotion, more chemistry, more drama, more action. The part that did it for me, and it just made me go “wow” was when in Episode 9 Jian Shao Peng’s mom collapsed and he was crying in the hospital while explaining how frustrated he is to Yang Zi Xiang, he showed the emotion of helplessness, sadness, anger and frustration so well in a couple seconds, literally amazing acting god. After that the story was very in the middle, we got some action but also cute moments or plain moments. I won’t say this is the best BL show ever, or the best Taiwanese BL show, obviously it lacks a bit, but it wasn’t bad either. I would fix a couple things or add/remove a couple things. I really liked the representation towards people who can’t hear, I really love shows who do that. But I feel like it was a bit over dramatic in some areas and also it felt like the background story of the characters had some holes mainly Yan Zi Xiang’s, I’m the type to not like super long background stories to the point I know every single detail ever, but I feel like for this one it was a bit necessary for some parts. But overall great short show to binge in a day. 7.5/10

Not Bad, But It's The Same Thing Every Time

I've noticed a pattern between all SUKFILM BL's, like Blue Boys, Bad Guy and now Seoul Blues, they all have a very similar plot and it doesn't help that the actors are always the same, now no hate towards the fact that the actors are always the same like I have watched many BL's with the same actors as other BL's but the problem I have with this is how similar the plot is and how nothing seems to change, it's always the same with the girl liking the main couple and getting hurt and then is never seen again for the rest of the show, or the ex coming back to stir some drama into the newly happy relationship, and they are always in the same places too, the cafes, the apartments, I guess with budget things are limited but once again no hate towards things that can't be preventable, I just need more creativity towards the story and characters personalities. I will admit this one was slightly better than Blue Boys and Bad Guy for some reason, I didn't get as bored or annoyed as the other 2 but I will still not rate this any higher than I rated the other 2 because it still lacks, and regardless of being able to see the effort they put in a lot of things and seeing the quality it has in the sense of cinematography, I will still have to give this a 7/10 for the listed things they lack. Regardless I'm hoping for improvement from them, and I hope the upcoming projects are better.

Mhm..Okay...

Honestly this wasn't much, I don't even know where to start with this because a lot is lacking and it could've been way better. I know this was short with 4 episodes each being 10 min or so, but when you know you have this limited time then you work with it and make it fit enough for it to not be/feel rushed, and if you have the ability to make the show longer so things are well paced then do so. Theres so much going on in such little time, everything moved way too fast and I disliked that a lot, also too much drama from the start, a lot of these shows same with Blue Boys start with a lot of drama and it ruins the entire plot, but even so the plot isn't even strong and the characters are not realistic. Ji Un is constantly giving in, like as soon as Tae Ha says to do something he does it, sometimes with no hesitation, he puts no fight and has no self control, while Tae Ha is a wreck himself, doesn't even know where he's going or what he wants so he just does what he wants as they repeated in the show over and over and over. Like yes, we get it, Tae Ha always does what he wants, but man ur literally letting him do so too. Like Ji Un can't complain when he's letting Tae Ha do as he pleases. Poor Ji Un tho he looked like he wanted to cry in every scene, I couldn't tell when he was happy or sad anymore. But idk just these things didn't fit well in the plot and the characters and it's also the fact I saw the Uncut version too, so I can't imagine what the cut version must look like. A lot of room for improvement, but we lowkey got nothing . Regardless production was great, just a lot with the whole plot and characters need a lot of improvement, also I know probably budget is tight with these but they always start at the same cafe and they're lowkey always in very similar/same places. It would improve to see changes in scenery, doesn't even have to be something to waste hundreds of dollars in, creativity is key in these things. Not hating just trying to give my thoughts. Other than that I rate this a 6.5/10, waiting to see improvement in future projects.

Blue Boys Pt.2 Thoughts

{Blue Boys }

I gave this show a second try (I only watched Pt.1). It’s been months since the second part got released and I spent $10 on the membership just to enjoy the full thing and take it all in. IDK why I did it, I just got the urge to (I need help).

My Thoughts On Blue Boys Pt.1

It’s honestly not much different with the membership, yes you get to see them kiss for longer periods of time and it’s more heart throbbing but the plot is lacking so much in so many ways that having them kiss for a minute longer doesn’t do much of a difference in enjoyment. I can say confidently that if this show had ended with only Pt.1 I would’ve rated it super low. Now as I write this review I haven’t watched Pt.2, so I can’t speak much about the overall rating and how much I enjoyed overall. But so far based on Pt.1, with uncut scenes, my rating is 7. I rated it a 6.5 before when it had come out but I think the longer scenes definitely make the ratings go a bit higher but not too high. So 7 is a perfect score for this part.

My Thoughts On Blue Boys Pt.2

This part was definitely more lively than Pt.1, but somehow I am now shipping Choi Jae Min with Tae Ha, idk they seemed like they could be a cuter couple. But regardless I glad this show had a happy ending, this part didn’t have much even with the uncut so that was a bit disappointing but it’s fine. I rate this one a 7 too, still lacking a lot and could have been better. I feel like they had the chance to do more with this part but kept it very mediocre and lowkey. It was ok.

I LOVED IT!

Guys… I’m so happy. I haven’t rated a BL show a 9/10 in a LONG WHILE. But this did it for me, like oh my god I just loved it. I’ve noticed I tend to like BL’s with a traditional setting more regardless of the plot, like it’s just a huge preference for me so I should definitely approach BL’s like that more often. But yeah, let talk about it! I want to appreciate the beautiful scenery in every episode, and the beautiful actors as well. They were all in a face card war cause Jesus they were all beautiful, mainly the mains. The outfits are absolutely stunning and detailed, it just made them look even better. The story was okay, a little confusing, but honestly it was a bit understandable once you reached the end more and more but still some questions. I don’t watch a lot of Chinese BL and I think this is my first traditional setting BL from China, because of the obvious laws in China, and I’m a HUGE physical touch person, it’s a bit controversial but it does make it more interesting to watch. I know this isn’t the most physical touch BL but I loved it regardless, the kiss at the end was worth it, and their chemistry was pretty good. I just loved the whole vibe. In other shows I would probably drop or skip through a lot because honestly the story was a bit mediocre but somehow it kept me hooked, idk what it was but I was hooked. I watched every single episode without skipping or fast forwarding, and that’s like so rare with shows these days, I have to at least fast forward in the last episode or last couple episodes. But here they managed to hook me in each episode, everything perfectly balanced. I really do hope in the future they have more traditional settings in BL’s it doesn’t matter where, either Korea, Japan, China, or Thailand. I know China has a lot of them but they’re very censored, but I mean a BL that’s something like this or even more would be the DEATH of me. Anyway, there really isn’t much to criticize here, other than I wish Zong Zheng Huai En and Jin Xiao Bao had a bit more of screen time being happy, a lot revolved around the drama going on rather than their relationship but at the same time it was enough, honestly a special episode of them just being together for like 20 minutes would be lovely, and last thing to mention is how Zong Zheng Shao Yu (The 2nd prince I think) had a VoiceOver in the show, he is Thai irl so idk if he was speaking Thai which explains why the VoiceOver did not match what his mouth was saying, but like they could’ve done better in that, it’s not super distracting, just something you can notice. But yeah that’s all, really good show I recommend it, I want more of them and I want more BL with a traditional setting and a HAPPY ending, can’t leave that out.

PLEASE SOMEONE STOP JIN XIAO YU FROM NOT LETTING THESE TWO LOVEBIRDS KISS UGH!!!

OK LISTEN LISTEN!

I was just going to comment under this show but I feel the need to review, because I just have to talk about how off the ratings in MDL are… or maybe I’m the odd one out. How is this show rated lower than Takara No Vidro? Like I literally watched this show after watching Takara and this one is way better in so many ways. Like Takara lacks so many things, it’s not horrible but compared to this one, Takara loses. Idk man, I just feel like this deserves better ratings, it wasn’t even bad. Like I enjoyed it way more than Takara, it’s not the best JBL ever but it’s really good compared to so many JBL’s we’ve gotten this year. It has chemistry, it has action, it’s not super toxic, a lot of the characters are super cute like Taichi, and overall it was pretty good. The storyline wasn’t the strongest but neither was Takara but at least Cosmetic Playlover made it work, while Takara literally gave us nothing. Not trying to be a hater, but it’s just sad/disappointing seeing actual good shows get worse ratings than mediocre shows or just trash shows.

Interesting...

((MAJOR SPOILERS))

First things first I want to applaud this show for being probably one of the few that actually has me hooked till the end in these past months I’ve watched BL, it wasn’t that hard to finish, I think the fact that it has 8 episodes which is a perfect amount plays a part too, because god… 12 episodes is so much and a lot of shows have that amount so they really stretch out the story to the point it gets boring midway. But this show had me hooked, I think the way they made each episode flow was very helpful too. They made sure to confuse the fuck out of everyone in each episode enough to make you wanna continue to the next so your questions can be answered, and trust me if you’ve watched till the last episode, all of your questions will be answered. So there really is no reason why people should be confused. But if you still are, I’m going to explain what this story was about in my words. If there’s anything I misinterpreted or missed then I’ll take the blame lol. But so far what I got was in the first couple of episodes it shows Great and his experiences, at first it shows him living that 4 minutes life, but in reality he’s really in the hospital having a near death experience, then between the middle it shows more info about other characters and then it shows the reality of Great, so basically what Great actually experienced, where he actually runs over the girl and all that. Towards the end it shows Tyme and his near death experience, and he was also experiencing the same thing as Great in the sense of the 4 minutes and such. Then at the end they recover and live happily. So what is there to unpack here? This whole show was based on 2 people who were experiencing a near death experience, and once you’re dying I guess you just relive what you’ve experienced, any guilt or regret you have will transform into the opposite in your brain, that’s why Great could see 4 minutes into the future and basically fix his mistakes, and that’s why Tyme had a whole different life with Great during his 4 minute experience, he had a good relationship with Great and they were dating. But in their actual reality, Tyme didn’t have the best relationship with Great and he treated him pretty badly, so when Great got shot, that guilt stayed with him. And Great regretted running over the girl, and also “helping” or not doing anything to stop Title from killing Dome and more interactions or decisions. So this whole near death experience was a way for the brain and body to cope with the regrets of life and they kind of created their own reality that’s why both Great and Tyme have a whole different view/perspective on how they met and the experiences they had together, but the reality isn’t even close to what they both created. Thankfully both survived and lived to what seems to be happy (YAY), everything seemed to be resolved. Sadly Dome, Korn, and Tonkla passed away. Honestly, they all deserved better. And the fact that Korn killed himself after Tonkla died makes this an even more depressing love story between them. And poor Dome, he was so innocent and kind based on what we saw. He didn’t do anything. And the cop Win, idk I did ship Tonkla and Korn but I first saw Fuaiz (Tonkla) and JJay (Win/Cop) in DFF (Dead Friend Forever) and they were a couple there so this is what I was kind of hoping would happen here too. But I guess in either shows do they have a happy ending T-T. Poor JJay. But yeah this is pretty much it, I also have to applaud those NC scenes, omg… it was giving KinnPorsche. But nothing beats KinnPorsche. Anyway, the only things I would switch about this show is probably making it a little less confusing for the viewers, I like the fun in looking forward to the next episode but they really had me confused for a couple episodes until the end where I was like “OHHHH”. And I guess include a little more romance in it, I know this is a specific genre and the romance is there, but just a tiny bit more would make this show a little more enjoyable. But overall pretty good. In my opinion, this show is good to watch once, I probably will never rewatch, but to give it a try, I will for sure recommend.

Idk How To Feel, But Listen

Ok so, I’m honestly very stuck on how to feel about this BL, don't get me wrong I loved it, I feel like a lot of us loved it until the end. But even with the ending I want to have an open mind on how it ended and try not to bring down this show because of it. I know some people on the reviews and comments have said how it’s not necessary to have such a sad ending and kill off the ML and I agree, but maybe because a lot of the BL I’ve watched have happy endings and I barely watch on purpose or come across a sad ending do I feel like having a sad ending once in a while is refreshing. It sucks and it's not what the majority of watchers like but it's more... realistic? Life is not always happy and life doesn't always have happy endings. So I feel like this story having this ending is in a way refreshing regardless of how depressing it was. Since we have no other ending it’s good to just accept it as it is and try to look at it in a different perspective and maybe that way we can enjoy the show more. I know I sound like a dumbass making this deeper than it is but I like to see things on a deeper level most of the times. And this show was honestly really good, the tension the main couple had and chemistry was unmatched, I haven't felt this way about a BL in a while, the way it made me feel was something I haven't felt in so long with BL since these days BL's are all pretty much the same. But this one was different. And it does hurt a lot that we didn't get that happy ending, and god Xi Gu deserved that happy ending. But I guess that's just how life is for some of us, unfair. And I like that realism. It's beautiful, it's real, it's unique. And yeah. As for the second couple, I hated it, it was so cringe and bad and the age gap................... normally I wouldn't mind age gaps but like you gotta have good chemistry for that to slide with me, these 2 were like so weird. I didn't feel anything with them and at times I felt disgusted. If I could choose, I would make the second couple go through what the main couple went through instead of them. Cause seriously every frame those 2 were in, made me wanna ball my eyes out. Horrible chemistry. IDEK why Zhi Gang even likes Bo Xiang, like? A lot wasn't established and a lot of details were missed. But whatever. Overall good show, wish it had a different ending but that's all we get so might as well make peace with it. I feel like this might be impossible, but I’m hoping for more BL shows In the future with Wayne Song and Huang Chun Chih as leads, and if it does happen, pls... happy ending.

Poetic

I don’t even know where to start. I thought I wouldn’t like this movie, it’s not usually what I like nor what I look for to watch. So, when I started watching this I didn’t know what I was getting into much. But I can say it’s a very good movie, so beautiful, so heart wrenching, your emotions will always be on edge. You will feel a lot. Me personally I get deeply into shows/movies to the point I feel like I’m in it. So when I tell you I felt all the pain and anxiety and everything else that was portrayed in this movie. I just don’t know how to put into words how this devastating poetic masterpiece is. It was just so beautifully portrayed, mostly the ending. The ending is what lowkey took my heart. It was just so… beautiful. So much was constantly going on. And at the end it just ended. But the small details make this movie so much better. The fact that in Hong Rim’s last breath he turned to look at the king. I just thought that part was so freaking powerful. Like omg. And how in the end it shows them basically being happy together, how it could’ve been. Now, this movie can be viewed differently by people, depending on how you think and how you perceive things. I do think the king was in love with him but he had toxic love towards him. I do think Hong loved the King and the Queen equally but he just couldn’t have both. I also think in a way this was like forbidden love. I don’t know. It’s kind of confusing for me to interpret how I see this movie as. But all I can say with reassurance is that is was absolutely beautiful and a masterpiece. Truly poetic.

DID Representation In A BL?!?!

It’s very common to see many mental disorders being represented in shows and BL’s such as Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar etc. But I never thought I would see a BL representing DID. In general DID is not something commonly talked about mostly in movies/shows, most movies or shows that have any sort of DID representation, represent DID in the worst ways and also incorrectly, portraying actions, feelings, emotions and more that aren’t accurate. I know a few things or so about DID since I had known someone who had it and learned a lot from that experience. With that I can say this representation is not that bad, the acting like a whole different person aka having a different personality when an alter has switched is accurate. Also the protective alter (Noah) being triggered out during moments of stress for the other alter (Yu Shi) is also accurate since that’s what they’re meant to do, protect. Changing the looks to make others around aware that you are a different alter can also be accurate since every alter can have a different aesthetic and interest. A lot of things are very accurate and on point. Therefore I give this show props for representing the LGBTQ+ but also the DID community. Now… where I’m a little confused/conflicted is that Wu Zheng is technically dating Yu Shi aka the 5 year old? While Noah is 28 and they did share intimate moments and obviously are dating as well which also confused me a bit because it’s not uncommon for an alter to not find the same person another alter finds attractive but it’s also not super uncommon. But that’s off topic, I just didn’t like how Wu Zheng had a sexual relationship and just intimate relationship in general with an alter that’s apparently 5 years old mentally. Not really sure what they were trying to do and that made me confused and also feel a bit disturbed. Since alters are their own person with their own thoughts and feeling, I find it odd how the alter who was supposedly 5 mentally didn’t react differently to being approached like an adult and treated as such romantically. But at the end of the day this was a show and it’s not gonna be 100% accurate with how it should work and more. But regardless good show, just would change a couple things and would do more research on DID for better representation. But other than that 8.5/10, I recommend for a quick watch.
