Like i said, CX and XY loved each other since they were kids but CX wanted to be king, he chose power over XY. He pushed XY towards jing and Fenglong inorder to get that power. Later XY and Jing will get back together and when they finally set a wedding date, CX will try to kill Jing. At this point CX is already king, so he doesnt need the Tu Shan clan's help anymore. When XY finds out that it was her own cousin who killed Jing, she will try to avenge Jing and kill herself. She will poison him and herself. When she poisoned him she still didnt have the heart to kill him and forgave him as she was dying. He asked her if he held onto her after they reunited with no chance of Jing getting close would she have picked him? She told him when she was locked up by the 9 tailed fox all she could think of was him, all she missed was him. When he didnt recognized her she still used her life to save him. Back then there was no Jing yet. Then the author narrated that when XY told Jing her heart had turned cold into stone, but CX remained the most precious treasure that XY kept deep in her heart, in the softest most secure place. When Jing said he would give first and trust first to try and win XY's heart, XY had aready done the same for CX. Although she didn't like politics and care about the greater good, she accompanied him back to Xiyan Mt and always potected him.

Since CX picked power over XY, XY will fall for Jing. Jing will try to prove his love for her over and over again until he breaks the hard shell around her heart. When he does XY will shift her love from CX to Jing. She will marry Jing in the end, i think that will happen in the drama. Everyone think XY loves CX like A brother, i also thought that too, but in the book towards the end the author explained XY's feelings for CX. Anyways i wrote when and why below, but theres some spoilers so i checked the spoiler tag. Read at your own risk. 🫣🙂

i don't mind typing it for you. =) i tried summarizing it for you but sometimes i couldnt, well i took alot of the details out, you can read them in the novel.

When CX woke up, he had temporarily lost some of his memory and was in pain, these were the after effects from the poison. His memory came back to him after asking Xiao Xiao a few questions. He then asked about XY and his doctor, Yin, told him she stopped breathing but had a faint heartbeat. Yin told CX they place XY in a seashell with blood magic on it, brought by AN.
CX asked yin if he could wake XY up and Yin replied he didn’t have that ability. He told CX there are 2 people who can, the royale mother and the person who saved her the last time.
After hearing this he brought XY to Jade Mt and pleaded with the Royale Mother to save XY and wake her up. When the royale mother saw XY in the seashell with the blood magic chant written on it, she told CX to toss the shell into the lake. He picked up the shell and took XY to the lake. When he returned he asked the royale mother when will she wake up. The royale mother told him she didn’t have the ability to wake her up but that XY might wake up in 20 to 30 years or200 to 300 years.

When CX returned to Chenrong Mt and the yellow emperor raged at CX. Telling him how important he was to the entire would, if he didn’t care then why pick this path! The yellow emperor gave him a choice and it was him who picked this path. The yellow emperor did everything in his power to keep XY from getting revenge, but CX delivered himself to her.

CX: “I know what I mean to the entire world. Because I believed in my heart that XY would not kill me to avenge Jing. Because I know that I am more important to her than Jing.”
The emperor pointed his finger at him shaking in rage.
YE: “you….. you…. You bet on your own life! You used your own life to gamble on whether you or Jing is more important to XY!”
CX: “And the truth confirmed that XY won’t kill me.”
YE: “But she also didn’t pick you! She would rather kill herself then stay with you.”
CX pursed his lips and said nothing. The Emperor took a big breath to calm himself.
YE: “This is the last time! Remember well, this is the last and final time!”

XL came to Jade Mt and rushed to the lake bit his tongue for blood and started kissing XY, feeding her his essential blood. Abi and Lie Yang thought he was hurting her so he attacked him. When Abi noticed XY getting better he stopped and stopped LY. When XL was done, he placed a sleeping spell on XY and gave her to LY. XL asked to speak to Abi alone and to have XY remain there, because of what XL did Abi agreed. XL wanted XY there so he could remove the Love Bug. He can remove the bug by killing it. XL picked up XY hand and used his finger as a knife to slice into the flesh of her palm and his palm back and forth until he drew a blood spell. XL join his bloody palm to XY’s bloody palm, so tightly that the blood flowing wasn’t clear whether it was his or hers. XL started to chant the spell and with it countless glowing blue dots appeared and flew around both of them. The blue dots lit up the night sky until it was an ethereal beauty of lights in the air and reflected in the lake surface. XL suddenly grabbed a real dagger made from ice and stabbed it directly into his own heart. When he was done he returned XY back to Abi and asked him to not tell her he removed the bug. Abi agreed and XL left.

When XY woke up, she was disappointed she didn’t die and didn’t know where she was. She cursed XL under her breath and started calling for someone. LY appeared and XY asked him who saved her and where’s CX. He told her CX left and flew away. Abi appeared and told her the royale mother found out her body can breathe under water so the Royal Mother sank her into the lake filled with Jade Mt spiritual essence and that woke her up. He told XY the royale mother doesn’t have much time left and to stay so she can say goodbyes. She went to greet the royale mother and saw her flipping thru discs of pictures with writings on it to find her replacement. The royale mother was about to flip to the next disc then looked over at XY and asked,
RM: “XY, have you thought about the future?”
XY: “What?”
RM: “Sometime the world is so big that anywhere can be home, sometimes the world is so big but nowhere to go and death is a release. Jade Mt isn’t a good place, but it is cut off from the rest of the world. XY, do you want to become the next royale mother and govern Jade Mt?”

The Royale Mother sound like she already knew everything. XY’s eyes started to tear up, the world belonged to CX and there was nowhere she could go to hide from him. Jade Mt is cut off from the world and the only place she can rest.
XY: “I do!”
LY: “XY, being the Royale Mother means you will never be able to leave Jade Mt for the rest of your life and must be alone forever. Have you really thought it through?”
XY: “I thought it through, the world may be vast but there is nowhere I can go now, being Royale mother is my only resting place.”

Since there were no objections, the Royale Mother proclaimed in 3 days an announcement will be made to the world that the new royale mother will take over Jade Mt. It also gave time for XY to think about it.

After leaving Jade Mt CX found a lake for XY to rest in. he summoned powerful being to build a mystic maze to keep the power inside and maintain XY’s state. When it was readied he went to Jade Mt to pick her up. When he arrived the place was decorated while the puppet servants and maids were busy. He asked if the Royale mother’s health has gotten better. The maid replied that she has chosen a new successor and all matter on Jade Mt are being directed by the next
Royale Mother. As CX went in to meet the new Royale Mother, he saw a woman in white leaning on the window pane staring outside. Then a gust of wind lifted the bead curtains and the woman turned around. CX froze. XY walked in and sat down on the Royale Mother’s throne. Gesturing to CX.

XY: “Your majesty, please sit.”
CX: “XY, why are you dressed like the Royale Mother? Do you know what that means?”
XY: “I lived on Jade Mt for 70 yrs, I know exactly what that means.”
CX: “The Royale Mother cannot step one foot off the Mt, she must be alone for the rest of her life! You are drawing your own prison cell until you die! Even if Jing is dead, even if you don’t love me, but your life is still very long and the world very vast, you can still find someone to spend your life with! Is there no one left in this world that is worth your staying for?”
XY: “your majesty please sit. From now on please call me Royal Mother, there is only the Royal
Mother of Jade Mt before you, I have no worldly name.”

CX grabbed XY’s hand to drag her to the royale mother. Jade Mt guards blocked CX and CX’s Guard unsheathed their weapon. CX was told that Jade Mt doesn’t interfere with worldly affairs and he couldn’t interfere with Jade Mt’s affair.

XY: “Jade Mt has no weapons! All the weapons of the world, no matter how powerful, has no effect on Jade Mt. If you want to fight then a tree branch is more effective here. You all sheath your weapons now!..... I woke up 2 days ago and the Royal Mother wanted to send a message to you but I stopped her. I decided that day to become the next Royal Mother and she was worried I was being to rash so gave me 3 days to think about it before announcing it to the world so I can change my mind. CX, no one is forcing me, this is my own choice!”
CX: “Why?”
XY: “CX, how can you not know why? I could have lived like an ordinary girl, marrying and having kids, living a simple life. You took it all away from me! I can’t kill you, I can’t kill myself, I can’t even leave! The whole world knows I am Chi Chen’s daughter, the whole world is under your rule – if I can avoid people trying to kill me, I still can’t avoid your forces to bring me back. CX, the world is so vast but you’ve pushed me to the point of being with you or having nowhere else to go!”
CX: “If you don’t become the Royal Mother, I can give up…..”
XY: “CX, I’m tired let me rest now.”

CX tightly held XY’s hand and pleading, “XY, If you don’t become the Royal Mother I will give you any freedom you want. Go anywhere you want!”
XY: “Gege, please I beg you to remember all we shared and agree to let me be the Royal Mother, give me a place to rest.”

Her expression was placid and in her dark depths there was no love or hate anymore, just nothingness. He remembered when those eyes reflected intelligence and charm, beauty and wit. Those eyes showed happiness and sorrow, would get worried and mad…. Even those last few days on Chenrong Mt those eyes reflected hatred. But now there was nothing there! it was like a dried up well….CX didn’t dare look into those eyes because it was a reminder that the XY who accompanied him the entire way and was never crushed by any obstacle was now dead to him. And it was he who’ve pushed her to this point step by step! XY got up and told the maid if CX wants to spend one night then tend to him well. If he wants to leave then send him off. Everything else according to plan!

That night XY sat on the beam with her legs dangling over the water as she stared in a daze at her reflection. Abi walked over and said, “The Black Emperor didn’t leave, but also didn’t say he was staying. He just sits on the mountain peak staring at the direction of Xiyan Mt, not eating or drinking, and not saying a single word.” XY told him to leave him be

The next day arrived, XY changed into her ceremonial robe and put on the Royal Mother peach blossom crown. Once the ceremony is over she will take the jade Seal from the Royal Mother and stamped it on the proclamation decree to the world then she would officially rule Jade Mt. XY walked towards the ceremonial stage with the assistance of the servants. She stared at the peach blossom forest and remembered when Jing proposed to her. She reached out her hand and caught a few peach blossom petals and smiled.

While waiting for XY to reach the alter the Royal Mother watched CX, his face starkly white and exhausted as he kept his eyes on XY without blinking. XY made her way to the altar without looking anywhere else, then Royal Mother asked, “As custom, I shall ask one final time – once you are Royal Mother you cannot get married or ever leave Jade Mt. Do you still agree?” CX yelled “XY-----------"with tears in his eyes. Blossoms started falling around XY, she seemed to have spotted Jing and tightly clenched her hand around the petals in her palm as she smiled at him and agreed to being the next Royal Mother. XY was led on stage and she knelt down as the Royal Mother took out the Jade seal and started reciting the succession pledge. As XY reached out about to receive the jade seal, when she heard the sound of a crane calling. Everyone looked up as the Royal Mother scowled “Today is an important day and Jade Mt is not accepting visitors!”

From the sky came a white crane with a blue robed man standing on its back refined and elegant. CX expression darken while XY stood up with eyes open wide in shock and her body shook in surprise. The man vaulted off the crane’s back and landed on the altar. He appeared to have just gotten over a grave illness, his complexion pale and wan and his figure thin. But his features were graceful and refine and his demeanor calm and composed. He politely bowed to the Royal Mother,

TJ: “Tu Shan Jin from Qing Qiu I’m here to pick up my fiancée. I heard from the servants that the succession ceremony was going on and should have waited but I had no choice to barge in so my apologies for the intrusion.”
RM: “Tu Shan Jing? You didn’t die?”
TJ: “XY, I’m back. I hope you don’t hold it against me for coming so late!”
He walked towards XY but was blocked by 2 guards. He didn’t want to anger the Royal Mother so stopped and said softly,
TJ: “XY don’t become the Royal Mother, you promised to marry me!”

she walked towards Jing until she was standing in front of him. She couldn’t believe he was standing in front of her. She reached out her hand to touch his face
XY: “Jing is that you?”
TJ: “I am Ye Shi Qi. Because you counted 17 leaves on the herbal branch, that is why I am called Shi Qi.”
XY: “You’re really back!”
TJ: “I’m sorry for making you wait so long!”
XY: “Jing, Jing, you’re finally back!”
TJ: “Don’t cry….. Don’t Cry…..”
XY started crying even louder.
XY: “I kept waiting for you, I kept waiting for you and didn’t believe you died. Every full moon I think you’ll come back but you never did! I waited for so long and thought you wouldn’t come back… I thought you really abandoned me… I hate you, hate you…”

We communicated in gestures and I figured out that they found me unconscious in the ocean and didn’t know who I was or how to wake me. They placed me on the deserted island and fed me herbs from time to time. Luckily there are tons of strange treasure in the ocean and they accidentally chanced upon the right sea herbs to wake me up! I rushed back worried about you and only then did I learn 7 years have passed. The yellow emperor told me you were not on Chenrong Mt and told me to rush to Jade Mt.”
XY: “I want to go thank the mercouple that saved you.”
TJ: “Merpeople live in the vast ocean without a set residence. When I left and asked how I could find them again, they just pointed to the ocean so I don’t even know how to find them again.”
XY: “We can look for them in the future, take our time, but now we need to gp beg forgiveness from the Royal Mother.”

Well she only tells 1 guy she likes him and she only kisses 1 guy.

Yes, it was sad when he tried to kill Jing. Then XY finds out and it was sadder how her family all betrayed her like Jing !

I didn't write XL was in love with WXL when they first met. i wrote;

i didnt ask that question, it was _XingYue_. She said XL was also true to himself but i wrote if he was then why did he have to pretend to be Bei in front of XY. i only mentioned CX because of the love bug.

CXand XY did love each other. its in the book. here let me copy that part for you to see. After XY found out CX killed Jing. she tried to avenge Jing by killing her cousin. she asked CX to come to the phoenix tree forest and gave him some phoenix flower to suck on. After he sucked on a few they started talking. I wrote some of the dialogue below. i also copied some of the author's narration about XY's feeling for CX:

CX: “XY, tell me! If we could do it all over again and I held you close after we reunited on Wushen Mt, with no chance for Jing to get close to you, would you have picked me?
XY: “When I was locked up in the cage by the 9 tailed fox, all I could think of was you…. All I missed was you… when you didn’t recognize me. I still used my life to save you…. Back then…. There was no Jing yet…. “
CX: “XY! XY!...........” but he could feel only silence as her breathing ceased.

They buried and said farewell to their loved ones, they endured the pain together. Xiao Yao said her heart had turned cold into stone, but he remained the most precious treasure that Xiao Yao kept deep in her heart, in the softest most secure place. When Jing said he would give first and trust first to try and win Xiao Yao’s heart, Xiao Yao had already done the same for Zhuan Xu. She didn’t like politics and care about the greater good, but she
accompanied him back to Xuan Yuan Mountain and always protected him.

sorry its a really long one, i tried to keep all the dialogue so you can feel her pain. i cried typing it. so sad... i stopped at both being poisoned and if you want me to continue then let me know. ill give you more. =)

After hearing XL’s clues, XY started making a list, writing down names of everyone who could have a grudge with the Tu Shan Clan: The Fang Feng family, the Chenrong tribe, the Chi Siu clan, the Gui Fang clan, Yu Jiang. XY even wrote XL’s name down. Most of the names were wiped out because there wasn’t good enough reason for them to kill Jing. Then she paused at XL’s name, she thought he probably told her about the clues so that she doesn’t think he did it. Plus whatever she did will cause problem for CX and help Gong Gong. She even sent Left Ear to attempt assassin on these suspects to see if they can gather those top-notch guards for protection. After investigating for half a year all names were crossed out except for XL. She kept writing his name over and over asking herself if he did it. Then Left Ear one day told XY it wasn’t XL. He told her there was a powerful person she missed and that was CX. At first XY denied it because she thought CX has no conflict with Jing. Left Ear recited the meaning of Conflict. Then he tells her what kind of conflict a demon would have. He went on and on until he said male beasts will fight over female beast. She understood what he was saying but it still didn’t click. Left Ear continued and told her CX & Jing, both wanted her, if neither were going to give her up then they’ll have to fight over her. As she thought about it, it became clearer and clearer to her. She thought about all the clues she had missed and started to connect the dots.

CX came to visit XY because he heard she was down and was not eating much. He asked if she missed Jing. CX called for some wine.

XY: “I know that in your eyes, FL is much better than Jing. You’ve also looked down on Jing. You thinking he doesn’t have a grander ambition and only thinks about making money for the Tu Shan Clan, and he’s weak and too kind when it comes to dealing with Hou and YY.”
CX: “I did think that.”
XY: “You all think that I saved Jing’s life and he just glommed onto me but in truth it was Jing who saved me. When I was left in Jade Mt I was just a kid who knew nothing. Later I encountered all those horrible things, I only glanced over them when telling you and didn’t share all the details. I didn’t forget any of it, it’s just those tens of years of agony and shame are horrible for me to stomach. When I was locked in a cage by the 9 tailed fox, he would beat me and torture me and make me eat all sorts of disgusting things. I lived even worse than an animal. I hated everyone i could possibly hate. Hate them for abandoning me, for making me live a nightmare. I may have survived in the end but my heart and soul were battered. When I met Jing, he was dirtier than the dirtiest beggar. I saved him in a split second’s kindness and didn’t actually care if he lived or died. But when I discovered all the wounds and bruises on his body it reminded me of myself so many years ago. I suddenly had a strong desire for him to survive. It was like seeing myself get past it, if Jing could survive. I endured the same torture and shaming, so I know how it can turn a person extreme, cold, and suspicious, and how hard it is to be someone who is warm, trusting, and kind. But Jing did it! He showed me, proved to me, that no matter how others have treated us, we can choose to still be kind and good and forgiving. Gege, you might see him as weak and indecisive but you tell me, if one day I betrayed you in the worst possible way, can you just kill me afterwards?”
CX: “you would never betray me or hurt me!”
XY: “Wasn’t that what Jing thought about Hou? He was Jing’s most beloved brother. Until Hou did what he did, Jing was like you today, believing completely that Hou would never harm him. I thought Jing would turn cold and suspicious after what Hou did to him, and actions would be decisive and heartless, like both of us have become – but he didn’t! Gege, don’t you think that’s another kind of strength and courage? It appears different than us, but Jing is using his own method to defeat and overcome his suffering.”

CX was silent but agreed, someone like Jing who was so brilliant and strategic on political matters, how could he not know how to get revenge on Hou.

XY: “Jing clearly saw what kind of person I am. He knows I won’t give first, won’t take a chance, so he told me that he will give first, he will take chance when he said that, he already did so much for me. but I was touched then yet not believing in him completely. I thought it was possible to do it for a time but impossible to do it forever. People’s hearts change, today real is not tomorrow’s reality! But Gege, after what you went through, could you still say that you will give first, you will take a chance? Are you even willing to do that?”
CX did not reply.
XY: “You and I are the same type of people - we cannot do that! Jing kept trying hard to get close to me, but I never fully trusted him, and in fact always was ready to fully retreat at any moment, I never said it but Jing must’ve known it. Gege, maybe in your eyes I’m perfect but in truth it’s very tiring to be with a person like me!”
CX: “Perhaps he did a lot for you, but all I saw was you spitting blood because of him and YY.”
XY: “Yes, that was Jing’s mistake, but I wasn’t blameless either. I could have handled the matter with him but chose not to do anything, watching from the sidelines and forcing him to prove himself to me. Back then I didn’t know that love can be about one side giving, staying together requires both side working at it, we both made mistakes, so we both endured the punishment. It was the first time we both liked someone, so making mistake is normal. We were simply used by Hou and YY is all.”
CX: “Even if Jing is a million ways perfect, what’s the point of telling me this? No matter what, Jing is dead!”
With a bang the wine cup in XY’s hand shattered. CX took her hand cleaned it and bandage it. He apologized. He told her he was there to cheer her up and asked her to continue. XY started to cry and as XY cried CX panicked. Asking XY if she was hurting or needed a doctor. Then she asked him:
XY: “Was it you who sent people to Qing Shui town to help Tu Shan Hou?”
CX: “Why are you asking this?”
XY: “I want to know the truth. CX, did you send people to help Tu Shan Hou?”
CX: “It was me.”
XY: “It was you!”
XY thought she have experienced every type of pain in the world, but who knew the most painful thing in the world was the person you love taking a knife and carving out your heart. Every part of XY ‘hurt, her insides, her bones, her skin, her head, none of the pain she experienced in the past could hold a candle to this. She was in such pain she wanted to die.

XY’s silver bow began to appear and she pulled it back with him closed. She tightly bit her lips until blood appeared. CX took steps back until he was at the door but refused to step out. The yellow emperor heard all the noise and came over. One look and he knew XY has learned the truth about Jing. The emperor pulled CX out of the room and used his powers to guard against XY. He told CX to leave so that XY doesn’t kill him and herself. He ordered the guards to take CX away. Xiao Xiao pushed CX onto a winged horse and took off. CX looked back and saw XY open her eyes with blood dripping from her lips. Her hands were also stained in red with blood, while her dark eyes were ice cold, as if everything was dead to her, including herself. No matter how hopeless things seemed, XY was always by his side. Every time he looked back he saw her resolute and warm gaze on him. But now she was looking at him with the coldest most heartless expression and CX felt like his inside was being ripped to shreds. The pain was so stark he couldn’t even keep his seat on the winged ride and he collapsed on the saddle. He wanted to go back and demanded to go back. XX lassoed the wing ride and forced it to fly away. He screamed, “Xiao Yao!” his scream was willed with endless desolation and utter pleading, trying to convey that he would do anything to protect her and give her happiness. But XY didn’t hear it and released her grip and the arrow flew landing on the winged ride killing it instantly. XX pulled CX onto her winged ride. Another arrow flew and landed in CX’s hair top knot. CX hair was undone, his hair fanned around him and he stared in shock at XY. CX’s power was strong enough to avoid XY’s arrows but he didn’t do anything to avoid them. Then he thought of his mom, when she committed suicide and jumped into his father’s grave. He finally understood when love was just that deep, one really would rather die than lose it. He finally understood her choice. CX’s guards saw XY pulled back another arrow and they rushed over to kill her but CX yelled for them to stop and to not hurt her. The emperor blocked XY and took her bow and arrow away. He told her that CX made a mistake and she couldn’t make another. XY stared at her grandfather and knew that he knew. The only blood relatives she had left all lied and betrayed her. With pain in her heart and using all her power to shoot the arrows she toppled over and went unconscious.

The next day she woke up not remembering anything except for CX’s face. She then remembers shooting arrows at CX. When everything came flooding back she painfully closed her eyes wanting to sleep and never wake up. She actually wished the person she killed yesterday was herself. The Yellow Emperor tried to convince her that Jing is already dead and killing CX won’t bring him back.

XY: “you both are my closest dearest family, but one killed my husband and the other helped concealed it! What did I do wrong to deserve this?”

All XY thought yesterday was to kill CX and then she would commit suicide and end it all!

A few days later XY recovered, she found out that all her medicines and pills were all gone. All her equipment and supplies were removed. The herb garden she planted was plucked clean. One full moon night XY strolled to the phoenix tree forest with a lotus basket in her arm, while humming an ancient tune. She sat down on the swing and admired the view while picking the flower from the basket to suck on the honey. CX walked over, gathered the flowers and passed it to her.
In XYs heart CX was the closest person to her, so much that she didn’t differentiate between them. If he wanted something then she would give her life to help him achieve it. From Wushen Mt to Xuyuan Mt, from Xuyuan Mt to Chenrong Mt, whatever she had CX could have it including her life. She always thought CX treated her the same way, that if she wanted something CX would get it for her, that if she treasured something CX would treasure it too.
CX: “Xiao Yao!”
XY: “You know I want to kill you yet you still came alone?”
CX: “If you weren’t certain I would come, then why wait here?”
XY: “I thought I knew you well, but clearly I don’t anymore.”
CX: “Want to swing?”

CX pushed and XY raised her head to look at the flowers, both reminiscing their past. XY placed the basket before CX.

CX took the flower and sucked out the honey.
XY: “is it sweet?”
CX: “very sweet.”
XY: “When grandmother died , we vowed before my mom , your mom, auntie Ju Li, we promised them that we would always take care of each other, together and never apart. I did it, but you didn’t! Gege, you didn’t do it!”

The body guards may not battle but they’re exceptional at protecting. He once saw one in action and told himself unless his god father’s life was in danger otherwise he would never attempt to kill a Tu Shan Clan Leader. Hou’s men not only killed all the guards watching YY and Zhen but also the 30 top guards Jing brought along to protect himself.
