Depends on what you're looking for. Its got an amazing plot, excellent acting, wonderful music. I'm sure we could go on all day. But those are reasons why it's a great drama. Why it's so highly rated? Because most of us here fell in love with it. If you're wondering whether you should watch it, no harm in giving a try and finding out for yourself what you think of it. It's definitely worth a shot since you're here already. Only advice is to give it a few eps at least before you decide. Hope you watch it and like it xD
Speaking of the younger generation in TU (referring to @SuibianX's MV and @CqlisMdzs's comments below) when I read the novel this time around - it hit me fresh/anew how on point the acting from them was. Sizhui, Jin Ling, JingYi and even ZiZhen. I love WWX and LWJ but we know that there are slight differences between some situations presented in the novel and in the drama (necessary differences from the drama angle and ones that I love no matter what) but that was not the case for kids' roles and this makes me feel that while comparing the two versions, the younger generation characters in both were so much more in sync with each other. I hope I made sense.

Wow - thank you so much for this. I ended up reading everything down to the hashtags! There's so much more I want to comment abt this - but that'd take more space and time after which ppl might still not get me ... I'm not even confident yet that I can put it all into words.. but you have to believe me when I say that this has reinforced several of my thoughts and still offered more food for thinking. Most importantly, it's made it clear of another reason why TU is magical!

I had that thought too actually - since she didn't actually say anything mean abt the drama, did she - or do I have selective amnesia? So I thought she was just actually worried for us and wanted to give us a heads up and help us by giving us something to talk abt. Thanks to her, looks like nearly all of us including those who were not so active in recent times, got together. Like @CqlisMdzs said - it's like an anniversary gift(even if I did join like a couple of later compared to you guys). How else would we have this get-together?

On second thoughts, maybe popularity shouldn't be completely ignored... how many users have we had .. coming all the way here to say that they don't like this drama? Actually I'd be happier if they said they don't like it. Most of them go straight to questioning the fans as to why we should like it when they don't... Negative comments still count as popularity rt? We don't go a week without one of these.

I've watched it....and let's even go so far as to say I agree with everything you said (hypothetically)... So what? So LMH is more popular, ok! So you have more comments, ok! Kdramas are popular than Cdramas, can't argue with you there either. I started with kdramas myself and my list has more korean than chinese. Because korean wave maybe has reached out to international viewers more. I'm also a fan of Kim Eun Sook, though her dramas starring LMH are my least fav compared to her other dramas. It's not like I don't like LMH - I liked his drama, Legend of the Blue Sea, just like any other fan of the drama. So what? What does that have to do with the price of tea in egypt? I don't see any point of yours that is valid and says TKEM is a better drama than The Untamed, so I don't see the need to refute and start an argument. Also, the most basic way to compare would be ratings (even that's not entirely accurate) - but you've already refused to believe since you think we are paid to rate it. So what else do you wanna use to compare? Popularity is not a valid argument - even if it is... after all these years, if LMH has to compete with a completely new drama with new actors, then I can't say much there. You would be better off comparing the kpop band BTS popularity - since I remember XZ had to compete with V on a poll. Did LMH even make it to the poll? Does anybody know?
