Korea doesn't have no-fault divorce like the US, although that may change with project 2025.
Statements of fact about ongoing political crap in the United States is still political.
According to you, it's perfectly fine for viewers/fans on a fan site for Asian dramas (for the sole purpose to discuss dramas, movies, actors, and actresses and movies) to insert political terms such as Trump, Project 2025, Harris, Republicans, Democrats, and Harris, etc when none pertains to the intent of MDL.
How do you not understand any mention using terms regarding a country's politics is POLITICAL and shouldn't be allowed. If MDL allows intrusions such as this then the purpose of MDL is lost.
I hope MDL is brave enough to delete your comment, and mine, by saying P25 will destroy our democracy. You obviously challenged someone, anyone, to reply to your comment. You also, obviously challenged MDL to stick with their values and rules to delete any mention of political terms, which immediately constitutes discord on their site. Do you REALLY want to see MDL turn into just another avenue for public stumpers?
Since there's no mention of political terms in comments on MDL, I believe the overwhelming evidence is that viewers DO NOT want ANYTHING other than a place to discuss what they love.
Should I ask what is your political affiliation? Should we now start adding it to our profile page as the majority does on X and FB? Should we discuss Truth Social? Should we discuss immigration, etc here on this site? Should we debate P25 and other subjects re the United States? Are you going to be so bold as to explain the meaning of "although that may change with project 2025." for the viewers of international dramas and movies so they will understand your comment and be up to date on United States politics?
No one knows what I support away from this site, except harsher laws for sexual abuse perpetrators and how disgusting they are, and I haven't been timid in my view on THAT particular subject in regards to certain actors who have been given a pass/slap on the hand to continue to be cast in dramas. You have no idea, and no one else does, whether I'm Democrat, Republican, or an Independent BECAUSE this isn't the place.
Answer the questions if, as @Toot said, it's " not political, it's a statement of fact.". If not, then why not? I'm just issuing a "statement of fact", right?
Edited to add: I EXPECT MDL to delete my comment with all the political terms according to their Terms of Service. Under Rules and Conduct: "will not post or submit Contributions that: (i) are defamatory, damaging, DISRUPTIVE, unlawful, INAPPROPRIATE, offensive, inaccurate, pornographic, vulgar, indecent, profane, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, threatening, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable; (ii) incite, encourage or threaten immediate physical harm against another, including but not limited to, Contributions that promote racism, bigotry, sexism, religious intolerance or harm against any group or individual;"
If MDL becomes nothing more than a political garbage dump then, as they stated, they can "We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Website (or any portion of the Website), temporarily or permanently, with or without notice to you".
I'm all for free speech, @ayoo6767. You have no limits, unless it does harm to someone. Yet, inserting terms relevant to politics will hasten MDL's demise. Have you ever wondered WHY you don't see comments across MDL galvanizing political discussions?
Please rea the full Terms of Service that can be found at the bottom of every page.
I'm really sorry and saddened with what this guy is going trough. Still it was his choices that put him in the…
How asinine to assume "It's his fault.....and the well being of others. He knew what he was doing was wrong and apparently promoted drug usage to others too." Individuals have a mind of their own and can say no. "Promoted" suggests he used coersion. Someone in comments described this ludicrous stance below. And as far as your list of helpful suggestions, which is an amateurish response ...Yoo Ah In did do #1 and how would you know if he did or didn't do the other 5? Flippant remarks to change individuals has seen so many turn from their destructive ways 180 degrees, right, according to you. Research addiction, please, and leave it to the professionals.
Do your research. Marijuana use outside of ROK is unlawful for ROK citizens, as it is for inside ROK.
You Ah In's case is a 'ding ding' moment for me. SK is basically a baby democracy. They've chosen to use a strongarm tactic using the criminal justice system as a deterrent. If they treated it any other way, they'd have to look at their alcohol consumption issue, which is ironic and based on science. Asians have a nonfunctional enzyme that makes alcohol much much worse on their bodies when consumed compared to Caucasians. Too, they're notorious for their consumption because it's a patriarchal/elder culture and saying no is considered rude/disrespectful. SK is in the throes of the earliest stage.Treat all cases as criminal. It's easier to lay aside drug use than to reckon with a nation dependent on alcohol (as it is in other countries).
Other countries grappled with the growing drug use 'problem' with imprisonment for the lowest personal drug use to the dealers, to the suppliers. Laws have s.l.o.w.l.y changed according to the level of abuse, the science behind the substances in question and public demand to deregulate accordingly (talking marijuana). Many see it now as a 'mental health issue', which quite frankly I disagree with because it doesn't take into consideration the contributors (poverty, etc), nor users treating drug use the same as consuming alcohol. No where have I seen alcohol consumtion as strictly a mental health issue. My own state in the US incarcerates low level possession of marijuana as a crime/prison sentence, even though 38 of 50 states have medical use allowances and 24 states have recreational use laws. The laws for alcohol consumption are regulated for driving motor vehicles. Governments/territories haven't ever known how to cope with its citizens needing substances to handle their everyday dismal existences. Fixing the predicament is too insurmountable, and it's been ongoing for a long long time. People will abuse one way or another and it doesn't always include drugs or alcohol (overeating, striving for exhorbitant wealth, etc).
S Korea shouldn't be expected to be the forerunner for other countries when our own and others haven't been, and despite that we say "they're backward", blah, blah, blah. It's useless to outrage AGAINST S Korea as a whole regarding drug use when our rant is for One Example/Scapegoat. I'll outrage until SK's laws for sexual abuse equals at least that of other countries, seeing it as more harmful (it's a LIFE-LONG infliction upon victims/survivors) than mere alcohol abuse which is usually confined to individual instances (beating of a person, killing another while driving while impaired, etc). My own country generally gives diminished sentences for such compared to the offense(s). It infuriates me as a SA survivor, but it's becoming a very public issue and hopefully laws will be changed for harsher sentences IF those making the laws begin to see it as a life-long infliction and not a one & done type of offense. Thank you for letting me bluster with this long comment.
Yes, I've reflected on this and my opinion has been subject to change. I can't condemn any particular country, when every country has their faults concerning drug use by its citizens, as much as my mind tells me I would really really like to see real justice for one man. I'm not their judge. Ranting about his mistreatment is productive. It relieves the heart most times, but disparaging the country doesn't offer any solutions.
In some ways, SK is still ancient Chosun. Power is misused more than it helps the people lead an abundant life.
Loved Mal-Mo-E: The Secret Mission. It's listed under Malmoe: The Secret Mission if anyone is interested. Oh, and thank you for the mention as I hadn't added it to my Completed.
Have you nothing to say about the Doctor/s who prescribed the propofol? "Yoo Ah In was indicted for habitual propofol…
I think I got the gist. I learned 31 years ago during my own '15 minutes of fame' with the media in an article, and law enforcement in an initial report, that what we usually read are full of mistakes. It was pathetic for a regular citizen to see just how incompetent they were. It's worse now in 2024 with the grandization.
To me, none of what's been 'reported' has made any sense, or people like me wouldn't be asking these asinine questions. And yes, after my comment, I rethought it. It was stupid. If the legality of the docs weren't in question then my only assumption should've been that law enforcement AND subsequently the media shouldn't have reported anything other than the marijuana use outside the country which is breaking the law inside ROK.
With a background in law enforcement, my thought is the entire investigation shouldn't have been put forth before the public until it was completed. If the info regarding the use of propofol, 181 times, hospital, sleeping pills, prescriptions, or alternate names (which could've been his birth name), etc found by LE that Yoo hadn't broken the law in that area then there was NO reason for it to be publicly known. ONLY the marijuana use should've been publicly known.
BUT should've, would've, could've is living in lalaland.
I agree on stopping the telepathy nonsense. Disparaging how a Korean pronounces english words shouldn't be on…
Thank you for the non-hate filled comment, which is usually kinda expected lately. When I first started to watch Kdramas years ago it did get on my nerves a bit every time I heard someone say passa instead of a patch (pain patch) but as time went on and I tried to learn their language it didn't bother me anymore. Did you know the Korean language is the hardest to learn?

Yoo/Uhm is a scapegoat. He's a warning.
