I totally understand what you mean!! I think you are right it could be because of that. Maybe if it was in French it will be the same for me. I also read somewhere that there is also a lot of controversy about how they describe the monarchy here (even if its a fantasy) and also some controversy with the episode with Japan confrontation... As you said it looks like cheesy drama is not fancy anymore now in Korea (compared to drama like TWOTM of Itaewon Class)
I think also that people has so much expectation on this show (for a lot of reason: LMH come back, KES, huge success of Goblin before) that as soon as troubles arrived (controversy, slow start,...) people were super disappointing leading to very bad ratings....
The more I think of it, it looks like it was inevitable...
Episode 11 was amazing and the best so far !!! So why Korean ratings are still so low ?!!!! Between 5.2 and 6.6 today!!! Why ? Plus TWOTM is gone now !! But people are still not watching ? :(

I think it's on purpose, because she is really wearing a wig in the series. It looks like she was hiding her real hair on purpose (and she has quite long hair like Tae Eul)

I think this scene (first Hugging scene between LG and TE) actually took place the day before the Luna Year Day (aka before the day he face for the first Lee Rim that we saw at the end of episode 9). As soon as LG found about LR not getting old (the day before the confrontation LG/LR) LG decided to go directly tell TE and JY about it. But as we saw it before editing and cutting SUCKS and at the end its super confusing!!!! And this editing is not ruining only the first scene of episode 10 but also ruin the end of episode 9 and the beginning of episode 11.
Because again I am pretty sure the first reason why Lee Gon is coming back quickly at the beginning of episode 10 is to inform TE and JY that " Hey guys bad news Yi Rim is still young don't look after an old men". But for some WEIRD and STUPID reasons the director's team decided to cut this part of this scene to probably show it to us in the next episode 11 (like they did before.....). And that's why we are here just looking TE/LG hugging and crying each other for no explained reasons :( which is very confusing....

Actually I have a little theory which I hope its completely false because if its true its really sad: Last scene of the episode 10, the meeting between LG and TE has a really weird vibe.... The way he said "it took me a long to come because I had to come from far away" or "I just figured out I never give you flowers before or I never told you that I love you" and said he ends with "I have to go back now" The way she first step back when she saw him like she is feeling something is wrong or missing or maybe not completely recognizing him... Do you think the LG we see here in this scene is not the one from the present... but maybe the LG from the future.?!?! Why I have a weird feeling this is not gonna end nicely (please TE don't die......) and that's why LEE is also crying during this scene...
