this is based on a typical male oriented novel. he has a harem. see Parray Zubeyr's post below about his relationship chart. Since it's adapted to the screen, they usually don't get as extreme but I can already see 4 females that are attached to him besides his main love interest.

fu jiu yun who appears in ep 24 is more creepy and slimy than mysterious. hard to imagine he's the lead in one of the other novels this show is based on

yeah, she's very naive and i'm at episode 24 where she met some rando because she thought it was yuanzhong asking her out (i'm like no girl, does he look like he would do something romantic). but replying to point 1 you raised, she actually knew him as a child when he was a good boy. Also the whole time she was snooping around on the airship, rumors were about what a good samaritan he is and she only saw him acting nice (to make up for the bad karma after trying to kill her).

there's so many other shows to watch and no show is perfect for everyone so treat yourself well and move on. Also, I read a couple of spoilers and don't think i'm up for all the deaths that will be taking place.

yeah, i made it past the ridiculously done first episode but I might drop it after ep 3 due to inconsistency. In ep 2 they said the hundred eye demon can re-cultivate after giving up his demon core and in ep 3 they said the divine bird demon is dead since her demon core was taken to forge the demon sword.

no way! she was one bad ass character and there's only a few other supporting characters who had more presence in the novel. I dare say she outshines the only potential love interest of kim dokja (and no, jihye is a high schooler with no romantic pairing in the novel). That's why the above article said her character couldn't be left out of the film.

I agree with most of it except for General Chu. He was a hypocrite even before the FL took over the body and got him all confused. There was one scene when they were children where he said something that was totally bullying behavior. And when he abandon his "friend" and even tried to stomp him while he was down yet expected him to come save his ass shortly before the timeline started. During an early episode, Nan Heng disguised as Li Shiliu had recounted to Song Yimeng about how Chu Guihong never came as back up when he was expected during a battle that took place 4 years ago and another one that took place 3 years ago. He had no right to expect backup and then feel all gut hurt and betrayed.

I watched it too. I believe fortune writer benefited from the shorter format. I knew from the get go the Song Yimeng is most likely going to be a drag as is a common fault with these transmigration types. They had to stretch out how long she is dumb for in order to fill 40 episodes. At least she's not Bakarina from "i reincarnated into an otome game...."

it's pretty interesting. It shows the ML's thoughts since he's a transmigrator. FL is reborn after being killed by ML's cousin and her half sister. Horrible subs on youtube though. It kept talking about high school but it's actually about the imperial exam. He passed the first level of xiucai when he was 12. He's asking for a reward from his wife which is not at all well translated but he wants the consummation of their marriage aka wedding night.

hard to imaging how they'll fit everything into a 2 hour movie and not have it be a mess. or do they plan on several movies?

i'm on episode 6 right now. it could use a bigger budget and better editing but it's surprisingly good

you're already over halfway. For a drama about palace intrigue and family infighting, it wasn't even on the deep end for frustration. I think it started picking up around ep 28??? or you should at least watch the last two episodes to wrap it up.

yes and in episode 2 she goes back in time to when she's 7, and then I think it spends two episodes go over events of her childhood and her trying to change it

yes, a happy ending for the leads but i definitely think we needed more fluffiness or how about those steamy kisses ;)

Also wanted to say that even though the synopsis sounded like Vin Zhang's other drama "song of the moon", it's way better. I tried to watch that one twice and stopped at episode 10 both times. Could not get past the FL being so stupid and the misunderstandings. Anyway, this drama is filled with smart people and misunderstandings are not the underpinning of this drama.

Just finished the drama and it was pretty awesome. I thought the part with Pearl & Zhao Ming could have been shorten by two episodes and then we could have had more time for the climax and ending. Wahhh! the producers are so evil. After putting us through the wringer, the epilogue/wrap-up was only 2min!!! I needed at least 5-10 minutes, either of explanations or fluffy time. I'll take either.

I agree. After all, another 10,000 years is a long time for him to figure something out. Or something like multiple personalities and his original is no longer wanted since ah Zhu is gone so he let xie xuechen's personality dominate

pretty sure he did kick it purposely like a warning although not sure if he intended the ball to land on their group. I guess this is fair play since second sister does physically abuse his cousin. I'm not saying the show is toxic although I will see how episode 5 goes. Just finished episode 4 and it was upsetting. Not because of the attempted rape (because s*&# happens) but how they were handling it

Just finished it on Netflix. That was a unique twist at the end that was well executed. I was prepared to not like the show at any moment since drama adaptations are usually inferior to the written novel but not only was it on par with the novel, that ending actually made it better than the novel. I haven't really seen people comment on the novel but for anybody else who read the novel, there are some small and some big changes. I would say the most significant change besides the surprise ending would be: 1) her age which was 18 or 19 in the original novel and her "in novel character" being 15 years old was changed to a working adult in a novel character approx. 18yrs old which made her silly personality appear extra stupid, 2) Ziqi's relationship with his adopted sister - he no longer had a rift with her in the drama because she accepted him instead of spurning his real identity for a short but significant time frame
