honestly, my feeling for them have improved so much since the start and it's all because of Q's personality change surrounding it. he feels so much more full of life after the entire situation with Toey started to settle and I love seeing how almost proud and happy he is. 🥺 they've honestly grown so much on me

it's tough imo because yes, they HAD a dedicated audience, but even as someone who was dedicated from day 1, this volume completely lost me and I know it lost a few others.
experimenting with longer storylines is fine, so long as the plot at least makes an inch of sense and people can still enjoy at least one part of it, but from what I've seen, the "dedicated audience" is frustrated, bored, anxious and annoyed by the entirety of volume 3, to the point that many have dropped it (such as myself).
volume 1 tested the waters, and volume 2 was a great place to start with a longer plot, rather than introduce a whole new plot and basically erase any previous storyline. volume 1 wasn't enough for build dedication. volume 2 started to see people get interested in the characters they already had, but still had its flaws, and volume 3 seems to have been the breaking point. I find it hard to see how this can be some sort of "longer arc" when the audience have no clue how long this will go on for and we have 0 confidence that the writers have a plot laid out, and that they aren't just making it up on the spot

I really honestly (and I don't wanna be rude about it but it's true) don't find it to be as big of a deal as others are making it out to be. while watching it, I didn't find it off putting or anything quite frankly. thank you for putting the thread here, I won't be reading it personally as I have no problem with the cinematography, and also I avoid Twitter like it's the plague. again, appreciate your thoughts, but it just isn't a big enough issue for me to bring my own attention to and then not enjoy a series because of. hopefully others can enjoy the read though and it can be a bit of insight for them :)

hiya, just wanted to say that on most devices you can manually change brightness, colour tones, and also colour settings. (certain for phone and TV, not too sure for laptops but it should be possible). It's an extra bit of work just to watch a series, but if you are really bothered by the colours then there is a way to fix or at least get around it to make it better for you personally.
I didn't have any issue with the colour grading personally but I also watched on TV in a dark room with the correct settings, so idk. yeah, it's their job to make the colours and stuff harmonious but if it is really putting people off then I just wanted to say there are other ways around it lol. personally I feel like this series is meant to be bright, especially in comparison to a lot of their other series that are for a more mature setting or have deeper undertones than this light hearted series. again. yes. I know. it could be better, however I really don't feel like it has taken away much from the watch value

I can't lie, I don't really understand the issue? on TV it was fine, on phone it looks fine with a warmer eye comfort setting, and on laptop it was also fine for me personally. I also don't have an issue with most cinematography because I watched far too many series on 360/480p lmao, I'm happy to be able to see anything at all 😅 I also like my series bright because I am blind AF (like, unironically, I take my glasses off snd the world gets darker level of blind) so again, all of this is very much for me personally.)

personally I'm not overly bothered about the cinematography so even when watching the first episode it wasn't something I noticed. it's also only the first episode so far and honestly camera and colour stuff isn't really the thing I look for nor is it something that I am overly bothered about lol 😅 glad to know that it doesn't seem to be overly different, but even then I enjoyed both versions of cherry magic so I'm not exactly picky 😂 not to mention, colour stuff (on TV and I think phone) can both be adjusted, and I think you can change it on laptop manually as well. yes it is a bit of extra work, but if the colours being too bright is genuinely an issue then there is a fix
what an absolute banger of a series. unironically, I think the last four episodes especially had me going absolutely feral 😭 I'm still a little confused as to who was telling the truth but honestly, I'm just so happy everyone got the happy ending that they deserved, if they deserved it. he has been quite concerned since the very start, which I always found was interesting but thought maybe it was just a close friendship, though now that someone else brought it up I wonder if there is something they know 👀 we have plenty of episodes to find out
because BL content is an IP and the actors/actress is expected to be a full round entertainer not just 'acting'…
I know they do singing outside of it and are great overall entertainers, but there are so many series now that have singing in scenes where it just doesn't feel necessary or it is extremely out of place. my question isn't really abojt why do they sing. they sing because they are trained to and it's a part of their jobs, I know that. I actually love watching their performance videos and singing as separate events from the series I am watching.
my question is: why have they not found a better way of showcasing this aspect of their career outside of series where the focus really should be acting. if someone can sing well but not act, are they more likely to get a role than an actor who can act but not sing? a lot of the singing scenes are honestly cringey, and I feel like a lot of BL characters are now being forced to be musicians rather than have some other interesting character traits to them. it isn't a huge issue I just personally don't feel many series use it well and a number of them actually suffer from trying to add singing scenes.
