Nah ,the character was badly written, nothing the actress can do
I agree the character was badly written. Even On-Jo from the manhwa is not really an interesting character at all so I don't know if I'll be disappointed or what. The actress did what she could do.
Can you tell mr story of youngest as i see the comment she is being pared with male lead??? I dont mind age gap…
I doubt this one will strictly follow the storyline of Little Women. Most probably this one will just be loosely based on it. Honestly, I do not think this will focus on romance, maybe just a little bit of romance in the background. Or maybe I could be wrong too. 😂 If WHJ will play the role of Laurie here, he would end up with the youngest but before that he was in love with the second sister based on the original.
Jung Seo Kyung is a great and very interesting screenwriter; her mind works differently in a very beautiful and interesting way so I'm confident we are in good hands here.
It's 2022 and people still have apprehensions about NJH's acting. I used to be an anti of his acting, but something…
I agree. People should give him a chance. I am also not a fan of his acting but I can see and appreciate his improvements and efforts. At least he's not a completely stagnant actor like some of those other well-known "oppas" out there. He's slowly trying to re-invent himself by taking roles outside his comfort zone. And please for those who unwarrantedly question his casting alongside KTR, he already played side by side other great actresses before -- Jung Yumi and Han Jimin (twice) -- so this is not the first time. He may not be completely on their level yet but I think he held his own just fine beside them.
Looking forward to this. Lee Joon Ik doing something that is set in the future ---- that is so NEW of him. I mean look at his works; those were mostly historical. I am so excited for this new Lee Joon Ik. Also, he's finally directing a drama. Yay!
Just started this one and I must say that this is really beautiful. I can't seem to think of a more appropriate word than that. This one talks about Math like it's poetry and I really appreciate that.
Ruby is not bad. She'll eventually be Yumi's close friend as per the Webtoon. I guess they'll follow Ruby's original…
Oh yes, Shin Ye Eun as da eun. Da Eun actually exists in the webtoon; S1 had been mostly faithful to the original so maybe (hopefully) S2 would also be in some degree. I really loved and appreciated Yoo Bi as Ruby here; she really became Ruby. 👏
Ruby is not bad. She'll eventually be Yumi's close friend as per the Webtoon. I guess they'll follow Ruby's original…
You're right, it's not going to be RubyxBabi. It's supposed to be different character. I really do hope they'll also adapt Ruby's special someone in the drama. Like Yumi, Ruby's character also has a very significant character development in the webtoon. ^^
Is Ruby good or bad and does she ends up with someone? spoil me I love yoo bi
Ruby is not bad. She'll eventually be Yumi's close friend as per the Webtoon. I guess they'll follow Ruby's original story line in S2. And yes, she'd end up with someone too. ^^
Hellbound was about a god's event which wasn't a god's event at all. It is true that the angels and executors…
I agree with you. Hellbound is so rich in allegories and metaphors. But Hellbound isn't only that, it is also a sociopolitical commentary. I think the key in understanding this richness is also enough knowledge about South Korea as a society or maybe just one's own sociopolitical makeup would do. I know some themes here are universal like religion, morality, death and such but some of things that this show was trying to tackle are exclusive to its origin society and its dynamics.
I think one of the reasons why people here were disappointed about this is because they've interpreted this quite literally. I guess they have certain expectations about this show and those weren't met. Personally, I think this show is brilliant and was surprised when I came here and saw people ripping this one into pieces because they couldn't find the answers they were looking for in it. The show doesn't provide easy and instant answers. It also didn't directly explain some things and a lot were simply implied. Honestly, I don't think this one was meant to provide viewers with answers --- instead, I think this was meant to raise more questions.
Overall, I don't think the purpose of Hellbound was merely to entertain or satisfy its viewers. If entertainment was the only intention here, then this one could easily be just about monsters, death, and its beautiful cast. I think this one was more about making people uncomfortable and disturbed, it's a sociopolitical commentary after all.
Loved it. As long as you dont have preconceived notions what this drama is about…then youll enjoy it. It is…
I agree this is not a monster drama and it is definitely more than that. I think part of the problem of this was how it was promoted as some type of a monster/horror show. People came to this expecting something else but was given a completely different thing.
I don't like the mention of Covid. Them implying that a drug for treating Covid is the cause of the infections…
I have a question. Did they imply that the drug is for treating Covid? Maybe I missed or misunderstood something but from what I could remember the drug was used specifically to treat pneumonia complications and not really Covid. It was also marketed as drug for common flu symptoms that was why some drugs were donated to homeless shelters and nursing homes. Then the drug production was discontinued due to side effects, and illegal distribution started afterwards. The said drugs are now being marketed as some type of diet drug by the illegal sellers as of ep 3. This is just from my understanding though. Maybe I'm wrong here or I forgot something that has been said. May I ask in what part it was implied that the drug was for Covid?
There are definitely certain unexplainable plot points that don't make sense, not only what you mentioned, haha.…
Yes, you're right there were many plot points here that didn't make sense. I also understand the used of a lot of plot devices here to make the story go forward but I find the one I mentioned "smart cop with strong sense of justice suddenly becoming the dumb cop" the most glaring plot device. Pil Do's character seemed to be just a giant plot device here; he was there for that purpose only. I would totally not mind Pil Do being a plot device here if only the execution was done well and if it didn't insult the viewers' intellect. I agree this one had a great flow which definitely made it binge-worthy. Honestly, I think this being binge-worthy is an advantage for this show because audience didn't have too much time in-between episodes to notice or ponder about its obvious faults. As for the fight choreo, I think I've seen too many shows that had the same level or even better action scenes to actually be impressed by this one. Though I really admire the huge efforts done by the actors in these scenes. The good actors were plus points too.
Why do they always make a competent and smart cop with a strong sense of justice suddenly become too emotional and then proceed to make him a dumb and bad cop who just let his partner shoot a defenseless suspect point-blank and suffer no consequences from it? I get that Gang Jae is a criminal but still that's definitely against the law. And for someone who didn't want Ji Woo to take revenge by her hands but by the law, I think that's hypocrisy. He obviously know that Gang Jae didn't die because he was stabbed but they make it appear like he died because of that.
The plot of this one started to go south when Gang Jae died. Characters started doing irrational things and plot holes kept appearing here and there. Too bad because this really had a good start but ended on a very bad note. Overall, this was entertaining but definitely not groundbreaking.
