The last shot reveals that the spiritual chain is still attached to Gu cheon’s hand, showing that the deal he made with the gwi mae was not completely over. He came back to life, but part of him is still connected to the spirit realm (half ak gwi). In other words, he gained a second chance, but he still carries the burden and consequences of his connection to the spirits.
That ending left me with so many questions and theories. I really can’t wait for Season 2 because I need to know what this means for Gu cheon and whether he’ll ever truly be free from the spirit world 😭
