really? he did eventually have a happy ending in the novel though with a wife who annoyed him. But i guess this ending is more impactful.

She is too weak and also she hasn't had enough screentime for me to feel an emotional connection to her aswell. Will feel it for Jinchao though when it happens. Sure hope she won't go easy on any of them.
