I saw until ep 24 today, Jin Chao and Gu Lan get along quite well. She doesn't harbor any ill will at all towards Jin Chao, more like depending on her instead. Like when she gave her a chance in regards to business.

Yeah i won't watch until sunday. I haven't even watched the previews yet for after 24.

Planning myself to probably rewatch "Meet Yourself" in the next days.

Yeah its a slow paced drama. I think the first like 20 eps are the slowest, after it starts getting really good. I don't remember the exact episode, but i can't really mention after which part either since it would be a spoiler

Hope So. Even when Jinchao got back, she pitied Gu Lan. Unlike in the novel, she isn't maliciously scheming. I see that Jinchao cares about her in the drama. Gu Lian on the other hand was childish and obnoxious in the novel and i hate her even more here haha.

I do wonder what Gu Lan ending will be. She's nowhere near as bad as the novel. Just wonder what will happen now with her going after Gu Lian fiancee as revenge.

In my opinion there has probably been a mistranslation or something.

She should be 15 years old in first ep. Since thats when you usually had your coming of age ceremony.

I forgot the name, but her paternal cousin(daughter of Gu Dezhao's brother) i think her name wa Gu Lian? was engaged to a man and Gu Lan seduced him and got pregnant. So Gu Lian married him as his main wife while Gu Lan married as a concubine. Gu Lan schemed and tried to harm Gu Lian. Gu Lan ended up taking her own life cause she got busted. So Gu Jinchao barely had to do anything after she dealt with Concubine Song. Gu Lan own action became her undoing.

Also Concubine Song and Gu Lan are far more evil in the novel. Unlike in the drama, they were rotten from the beginning and manipulated Rong far before.

No they arent. Shes still in her mourning period i think. It should end soon. But it will start properly in ep 18

really? he did eventually have a happy ending in the novel though with a wife who annoyed him. But i guess this ending is more impactful.

There isnt a translation but there is a scene from the trailer of the show. Where he confess his intentions towards Jin Chao to think of a marriage with him.

Yeah thats how it was in the novel in both her first and second life. He was always very gentle, patient, tolerant and protective of her.
