Same here, I've been waiting for years for her to finally have lead roles again. fof was such a bait. She literally had the same amount of screentime as a support or even less.

I mean with all those other characters, I can believe that. FL has like 7 suitors and there are the other sisters too. Splitting screentime with 10+ other main/supporting characters for 40 episodes will be tough. I just hope her parts are meaningful and important, I feel like after her brother arc in fof, she kinda got pushed aside. I'm hoping its not the same case here.

I agree! I really liked Lai Weiming, but they didn't exude CP vibes in the bts, but if I had to choose one Yanan would be first. They didn't interact much, but it left such a lasting memory to the point that I go back and rewatch their performance every now and then!

For the princess, I don't think she's inherently bad. It's just that the person she loved before her husband is bad (the 5th Dou Uncle iirc), and I guess there's still some feelings there. I think she genuinely likes the FL and the ML.

I can accept you saying "she's terrible" cus that's an opinion but when you start comparing different experiences/roles from different timelines and saying this is because of that, then you're doing a horrible job supporting your claims. We've already told you the difference, whether it be here or the FOF page.
Her "bad" acting as Tongyao in FIYS was due to her lack of exprience. And her cold character as Pei Sijing in FOF is because of the actual character. Learn the difference. You can tell PSJ is holding back her emotions, and if you can't see that or anything else, then you don't have a good eye in judging characters.

She could have mourned her loss but had to stay cold because she's not free of the shackles that is holding on to her, telling her that she's not allowed to show emotions. She regret not letting her brother finish what he wanted to say before he passed. She's cautious and clearly displayed dislike for ZYZ at the beginning. She feels a close sense to BJ cus he reminds her of her brother. She cried when she realized the miscommunication between her and her brother. She cried harder when her brother passed again in her arms. How could you not see all of these complicated emotions?
And her brother? The flashbacks showed his youthfulness, hes naivety, and how he cared for his sister despite his flaws and weakness. After he passed, the brother we see is just an image of the original body. It's a puppet. What do you expect? Plus LWM literally just started acting two years ago.

We've been through this already in the comments below. FIYS was years ago. Why compare her experience then with now? At this point it's like you're dead set with "She's terrible" no matter what you see or what anyone says. It's clear as day that you're just here to make negative comments.
So far I think she looks great from what I saw! The clothes looked pretty too!
