I thought her acting was going to improve 🤣no, it’s the same facial expression she gives to everyone so terrible.…
I saw your comment on FOF, you could have left it there. What's the point of leaving it on her page? To prove what point?
If you don't understand the foundation of her character, I don't think your opinions even make sense. Her character is supposed to be cold. She was forced to take the reigns of her family and be strong and not act emotional. Her character couldn't even accept the dress her brother bought for her. She had to kill her brother in cold blood. What emotions do you expect from such character background?
And when she found out what actually happened to her brother, what did she do? cry! Is that not acting?
Cheng Xiao can’t even act, she gives the same facial expression to everyone and every situation. I don’t feel…
Her character was brought up that way. If you paid attention long enough that's why she was able to kill her brother on spot and why she's always cautious even if those around her are kind and warm.
It seems like she did! Those coats were seen throughout the bts/shooting! She also bought Christmas ornaments…
Yeah, that's one quality why I love about her. Her resilience to continue to grow in her career is astonishing to watch over the years. I'm really hoping more people see this and appreciate her more too!
The hand that triggered the door to close didn’t look like the clothes she was wearing, but maybe knew it was going to happen that’s why she told ML/FL to go first??
I think that is what the format will be. Nothing wrong with that as many dramas with investigative style end up…
Oh I totally agree! It’s expected but I do think there are other detective style dramas that have executed better (even with lower budget, not as well known/experienced actors, and different story elements).
I didn’t really mind the comedy/humour. Sometimes it did feel forced and didn’t quite fit the situation, but I’ve just accepted that it’s a chosen style from GJM.
I also agree about ML having already knowing everything if not at least knowing the key figures behind the cases they’ve covered so far. I mean I understand he’s been alive for thousands of years and that would garner his abundance of information, but it kind of looses the reason for an investigation.
We're almost a third into the drama (crazy right?). I'm really curious what's going to happen next when they've shown us quite a bit of flashbacks/character developments already.
I will say, the cinematography and colour grading is really a stylistic choice not everyone is used to, but nonetheless I like the uniqueness of it. There are also some interesting choice of camera angles and/or cutting between scenes (not that I'm an expert), but despite that, the story's not as interesting as I thought (might change my mind as the story progresses). I'd say the characters are the ones that's keeping me reeled in atm!
I think the main flaw this drama has is the fluidity? or the transition/development of the story. It's as if we're going from A to B, then B to C, like a repetition. New characters come in the scene and then leave the next once their stories are complete. So it might get bland overtime.
There are leaks of CX filming a commercial with Xu Kai. Wonder for what it is? Maybe Fendihttps://x.com/mrxgch_/status/1851105040486010941?s=61&t=Yrnxdn_o0bTsrl4_ZPwY7g
Oh I definitely think it’s fendi! I tried to zoom in and even tho it was very pixelated it really looked like they were wearing fendi bags!
so we all agree that Zhu Yan has the other half ? I soon as Cheng said the token was in two people. Even in the…
During the scene in ep 6 when LL revealed to WX that she received half of the token, we can see the flashback, there are two floating light orbs. I almost missed the second one, but we see it moving towards ZY while the other towards WX. Idk if anyone else saw this but I really do believe he has the other half.
Neo 's character is number 1 and the FL character is n2 on that character ranking. I see people going crazy over…
As someone who's been following this drama since it was added to MDL and before it started filming (yes before the thousands of comments/photos), there were rarely a case where CX's fans were shading CDL/WX. And even when there were ones, they were not to the degree CDL's fans were doing to CX or other actors.
Plus, how are you sure those who are leaving those comments are CX's fans? For we know they could just be people who aren't a fan of CDL/HMH? Or just internet trolls in general.
Those comments about the chemistry did not even mention CX, they were directed at only ML/FL. Where did CX come from? Apart from those other comments pointing out that they see more BL/GL, I don't see how their thoughts of the lack of chemistry between the leads have anything to do with CX.
If you keep scrolling down, how often do you see a CX fan comment or any comment at all about CX/PSJ? Not a lot. CX fans aren't looking for attention and just usually appreciating her from the sidelines. A lot of the comments are about the ML/2ML and FL most of the time. Those negative comments by the so called fans you've seen are minuscule in comparison and you pointing it out seems to be more personal imo
She's not autistic.... Yeah maybe she finds hard to express her emotions but that doesn't mean she's autistic.…
And what happened? She didn't succumb to the hate/criticism. She took a break yeah, maybe rethink her decisions, improved in some way or the other. People grow. Just because she was bad acting in her previous dramas doesn't mean she'll continue to always be bad at acting. And even if she continues to display poor acting, it's on you to make the decision on how you use your time.
She's not autistic.... Yeah maybe she finds hard to express her emotions but that doesn't mean she's autistic.…
I literally replied in one of these replies that every actor/actress start somewhere. For her case, her company made the mistake of giving her main roles when she clearly wasn't ready yet. Which is why she literally took a hiatus in acting (2+ years). Now she's in another drama and judging by the trailer, there are improvements.
For FIYS and all her other roles during 2019-2020 (which was when they were being filmed), she displayed poor acting there. Maybe no one told her she needed to improve, maybe only after they were filmed/released was when she understood that she didn't act well. Either way those dramas still ended up being released regardless.
China has a large industry pool. Talented or not, there will always be people who get roles even if they can act or not.
Even if she can't act, so what? People who don't like her acting don't need to watch her act. People are still hiring her, she's still getting roles, at the end of the day, as watchers it's out of our control what she wants to do and what those around her tells her to do.

You do realize you assuming that every actor/actress should know how to be able to express emotions on screen isn't as easy as it looks. She lacked experience which is normal, yet you originally easily blamed it on her possibly having autism. You also questioned why she was an actress if she can't even express emotions. With that logic should people stop pursuing their careers if they're bad at it??
She's not autistic.... Yeah maybe she finds hard to express her emotions but that doesn't mean she's autistic.…
Ah, of course you won't. At least read my point that no one was disagreeing about her not good at being expressive, but that shouldn't stop her from trying to pursue and improve in a career she wants to do.

Still, I think it's quite enjoyable to watch!
