Seriously what’s with the sudden Cheng Xiao hate recently. Girl is just minding her business and suddenly is…
It's getting frustrating. Some people just love finding something to nitpick and disregard everything else.

She's not autistic.... Yeah maybe she finds hard to express her emotions but that doesn't mean she's autistic.…
Yes she's an actress. You can't expect every actress/actor to be talented right on the dot. And if she is on the spectrum of autism, what's wrong with still wanting to act? Should she stop trying to improve just because she's bad? She can learn and grow just like everyone else in their life whether it be for any type of career. If you have a problem with her acting, then just ignore all the drama/movies/shows she'll be in. It's that simple.

No one was disagreeing that she's having problems expressing her emotions. What people are getting affect with is how you worded your post. You literally making assumptions based on post someone made on reddit and judging someone's decision to pursue a career that they aren't talented/experienced in is what was the problem. Anyone who has no experience in a certain career would face the same. Expressionless? There are other actors who struggle with expressing too much or too little in acting too. And she's not the only one, have you watch other dramas? There are several other actors/actresses who are emotionless too. Even some well known actors/actress start bad and are now great actors.

My point is, everyone starts somewhere. Just because she started at the bottom in her acting being non-existent does not mean she should stop trying to improve/pursue a career in acting.

"You better be careful u don’t fail your course." You can't even decipher who was the one going to school for psychology LOL

help lol shes not autistic, its just she was still in her rookie acting years before, she hasnt acted since the…
You talk about expressing herself being so simple. You do realize there are other disorders or causes for people to not be able to express emotions properly that is not autism. Of course we don't know if she's diagnosed with any of these, but you saying that you read something online that she might have autism which may be the reason why she's emotionless is very naive way of thinking.

I agree her acting was cringy and subpar, but give her a break. She had no experience and her company did a poor job giving her leading roles she clearly wasn't ready for yet. She realized this as well, even taking a long hiatus from acting. But now she's even willing to take smaller roles (support/guest) albeit the couple main roles she's got lined up, she's still a secondary lead. She's trying and that's what matters.

Saying "u being a psychological student doesn’t mean anything."
Is the same as "I read it on Reddit that she’s autistic" ... but someone who is actually studying it has more knowledge than someone who just read it somewhere online LOL

You also said "what’s the issue if she’s autistic?" but said earlier that because of that "…so why is she an actress?" which is literally you saying because she's autistic and have trouble expressing her emotions she shouldn't go into acting if she can't express her emotions...

"she’s dull and expressionless." like you've never met other people who have trouble expressing themselves. Autism does not equate to expressionless. But being introvert can be a reason one isn't comfortable expressing emotion. Also get your facts straight, being introvert does not only mean they prefer to be alone. They simply prefer to focus on their own thoughts and ideas. They also can be completely comfortable around certain people. There is a spectrum for it as well. You should probably do your own research before casually using "Autism" and "Introvert".

You are okay with TJR's 62s screentime but you're not okay with CX's 14s screentime? CX came with connection?…
Whats crazy is that they keep talking about how "undeserving", "bad of an actress", or that "because of her company" and doesn't even say anything else solid. She then claps back by saying CX is going to get more screentime bc of GJM. But a normal person at that point should be hating him instead of her??? The hate is so obvious.

How do you know those people that are praising CDL are not bots?? For all we know you could be a bot for the spam you're causing right now. You're literally repeating yourself for every response you've replied to as of late.

"Undeserving" she may not be the greatest actress, but that doesn't mean she didn't work hard. She went through the rigorous shooting scenes with all the other actors under this controversial director.

Apart from her being from Yuehua, what other "undeserving" facts do you have against her and her acting? You talk all this negativity but don't actually hold anything grounding.

Bro are u frrr?? Like why hate i agree both the ml and fl should get more screen time but that doesn't mean u…
Even if she ends up taking more screen time, why put the blame for her? She's not the one that chose to take up more screen time. You're putting the blame on the wrong person. You keep talking about how bad CX is acting and how she got her role bc of her company, but what does that have to do with her possibly taking more spotlight than CDL??? They can't choose how much they show up on screen LOL

You blaming it on another actress who has no power over her role/screen time clearly shows your true intentions. Anyone in their right mind would blame the director for not giving their faves more screen time, not the other actors/actresses.

can Cheng Xiao manage to take any spotlight from dudu a real actress with her wooden block acting pushed by connections…
You know what? Thank you so much for thinking CX is a threat to your fave. Do you realize you're actually making CDL look bad as her fan? I wouldn't want you as my fan if I were her. If you don't realize connections/networking is one of the main reasons that people are able to get opportunities, then you must be inexperienced. This happens everywhere, not just the entertainment industry.

If your logic worked for every drama, there wouldn't be any other female in it except the FL. How does that make any sense? You clearly feel some sort of insecurity since you feel the need to externalize by hating someone else.

why did Cheng Xiao even get screen time in the mv she can't act and is constantly criticized for her acting dudu…
"if I see Cheng xiao who has no relevance to the plot or in real life on my screen more than duddu when this airs you won't hear the end of it from me ."

No one would even care about your complaints. Criticize her all you want, it's not going to change anything. People who put down another to put their faves on a pedestal just shows how little you have confidence in CDL. She can hold her own weight without needing to bash another person.

"it would be better to give Cheng xiao's mv screen time to dudu"

It's not like CX is purposely taking screentime for anyone, is she the director? Does she have the last say? Get your brain out of the gutter and actually think logically. She has the least screen time in total. CX's is also one of the main characters. It makes sense why she's even part of the MV.

At this point, I recommend you to just not follow or watch the drama if you're complaining about something you can't even change.

Was she only a guest? How come she’s not filming anymore episodes if she’s considered a regular member?
Do you know if there will be reuters or any leaks of some sorts? I've been really curious about her next main role, especially this one!

Wish she could have filmed the variety show tho! Would have been fun to see all of them in the same screen again before the drama airs!

Ohh okay thanks for the correction! I've just been roughly following what's been circulating but that's good info!

I also actually watch BFTB and TSL and I didn't know that! I would have thought TSL had higher budget!

He definitely deserves the best for how hard working he is! Not to say everyone else wasn't as hard working. But I def can see why GJM, being controversial he is as a director, is being hated. Its clear as day that he's playing favourites.

I'm surprised by the comment section. I haven't seen any trailer, Idk anything about this director or the actor…
I'm replying with what I know! Hopefully it's enough to answer most of your questions:

The story revolves around the four main leads (HMH, CDL, TJR, CX). In a formal setting, you could consider HMH the main protagonist of the series, but the other three hold almost the same amount of importance to the story, hence why they're all considered main characters. But if we're talking about "billing" HMH is first, CDL is second, and so forth. Which is rather important in the industry since being billed first means you should be getting the most if not majority of the screentime.

Apparently this is HMH's first time getting billed FIRST. So you can see where a lot of people are complaining from.

I'm honestly here for CX and don't really have much opinion regarding all the talk about the trailer because its a TRAILER. I think it's going to be different when the series is out. BUT, people are speculating it might translate over due to favouritism from the director. Especially knowing what he's done in his previous work (My Journey To You).

I don't know all the details, but a lot of things happened with MJTY (his previous work) and how he has a habit of ruining the two leads (ML/FL) and putting the spotlight on the secondary leads. He might also have favouritism in this case as well with TJR since he was one of the characters in MJTY and also the fact that TJR is being managed under him along with the second lead from MJTY--so you can speculate why he favoured them in the first place.

A few things also happened during the filming of this drama (Fangs of Fortune) and the actors had to readdress them (I think HMH had to put out a statement at some point). There was the whole CX hair situation. The director also got them all to go on an extreme diet. There were cases he'd make HMH and others wait hours until their turn to film (so they'd get ready only to wait several hours until their turn to shoot). Shooting days also took crazy hours . I could list more, but he's controversial because of his work ethics, favouritism, and the tendency to make drama/controversies out of his own casts whether it be for marketing or I guess clout.

I guess what I said could have been misinterpreted.

I didn’t meant that ppl/budget = success. What I was trying to say was that even before the drama came out, it was already expected success and that’s why they had higher budget + PPL. And since it had all the essences of what previous successful dramas had (famous actors, high budget, well known scriptwriter/directors) it only made sense that it would do well once it airs.

While LR only had True Beauty screenwriter and KHY attached. And of course the infamous boycott.

I didn’t even watch the promotional vid. But I knew about the boycott. I also only watched it right after it finished airing. And I only started getting active on MDL bc of this drama. But as someone who’s constantly watching drama as a hobby, I definitely see why this got the hype.

That’s especially why I said timing. This probably had the best timing to air especially with all the publicity it was getting whether it had been due to the boycott or simply being.

They're both the talk of the country in South Korea atm. The drama aired right after QOT which was the most anticipated drama at the beginning of the year and when it ended people didn't know what to watch. But in comparison to QOT, Lovely Runner didn't have a lot of budget/PPL so it wasn't expected to be as successful.

But to everyone's surprise, it exceeded a lot of people's expectations. Both the leads sold their acting and generally many loved the chemistry between the leads as well as the supporting characters.

One one hand, KHY (Sol) is a renowned and trusted actress in SK. Most of the people watching were more likely watching it for her. BWS (Sunjae) on the other hand is a rising actor, with this being his first major role (male lead).

So I guess, imho the popularity was due to timing, a well balanced story (esp after a story/ending from QOT), and good acting (+chemistry to the point ppl be shipping them irl).

I can’t believe the misogyny in entertainment industry and fan culture. Every time KHY’s drama becomes a hit,…
Sadly, this is quite common in SK and the industry in general. I think the reason the male leads tend to do better after a successful project is probably due to the fact that most of the people watching it are females and they tend to gush over the male leads. Not to say their acting was not the reason, but A LOT of the fans usually translate from their visuals.

In KHY's case, she's a renowned actress for her age group, no doubt about that. A lot of the Korean viewers literally watched LR because of her. People trust her choice in projects because they know her skills in acting.

I think BWS really gained a spotlight due to being unknown until LR and KHY really helped him portray SJ really well. IMO he probably would have gotten popular at some point in his career but KHY + LR really skyrocketed his current popularity. Which I'm happy for him.

It seems SK and other companies are finally taking notice of her. She's getting more exposure with brands and other opportunities. I hope her next project will be another leading role! It's only up from here!!
