Although I was happy his APAN win, even I hadn't taken APAN seriously like Beaksang. ( inside joke of giving awards to those who attend).
Also at the time APAN award ceremony was held, Seyoung didn't attend & she was doing another drama with another costar.
As Junho is an introvert like me, I think it would be very awkward for Junho to thank Seyoung ( who was not appreciated for her performance by Juries ) who neither attended nor got the award.
From my point of view, (rather than thanking her) it would be like 'Mocking her'.

The reason the audience are crazy over their love story is (well as a viewer who love the series, I do think the onscreen couple has sizzling chemistry) while you are immersed in their onscreen love story, there were really evidences of Yi San's love in history whether you wanna call it 'love' or 'obsession'.
King Jeongjo's love over Uibin Seong was legendary as there were many evidences.

I do understand your frustration, but cause it is a story based on real historical events and its main viewers are local koreans, some well known historical parts are skipped over ,especially when MBC did not want to produce another long series since they already had 2007 Yi San Long version.

This is why this series is not widely popular to international audience who are not well versed in korean history though it has already got many accolades locally.

My current obsession is 'Lee Junho' who is Ok taecyeon's band mate from 2PM.
Current title holder of Baeksang best actor, and well, he did his solo fancon for 5 days in Korea & Japan like 2 weeks ago.

That's why k netz are trying to matchmake these two. But still no luck,because both of them are in sibling zone.

Some of the fans reading webtoon on Tapas neither know that the story is based on true historical events nor watch the drama yet.
They won't know the possible melodramatic ending.

If you don't like it by the end of episode 5 or 6, my advice is to drop it.

Most people ( including me) love it because of the perfect chemistry between the leads presented by poetic directing , with historical backdrop of the factual complex emotions between three royal family members,Yeongjo (The Grandpa king),Sado and Jeongjo ( San).

It is a historical drama based on real life historical figures .
This drama focuses on romantic love story of King Jeongjo and his consort ,Uibin Seong, but biggest tragedy of the century 'Crown Prince Sado's' can't be excluded in the story about 'Jeongjo'

The drama especially becomes serious in the later half, so if you are here to watch a fun series , it may not be for you.

I am reading the webtoon on Tapas, but it totally has a different vibe unlike the drama, also a bit different from the novel too.
Yeah, like others said, it is still my best drama after 7 months.

First, nobody knew the exact cause of FL death in history , some said poisoning, some said Liver cancer.
I thought Eclampsia too.

2.ML ( King Jeongjo) actual cause of death was seemed to be Spinal abscess.
You know, pre antibiotic era, life was shorter.

3 King Jeongjo passed away at age 47 , Uibin Seong death was at age 32.
And he was two years older than her , might be 13 years later.

4. ML's dream sequence happened when he was in limbo between life & death.
So this time, he refused to return to the life and decided to stay with FL.
May be it was a dream on his verge of death or an afterlife, it didn't matter. This time, he chose our FL and the moment became eternity.

5. ( in the novel ) FL's words on her her deathbed were acts of noble idoicy.
Because she was suspicious of everything after her son's death & couldn't do anything functionally after that.

She was afraid it might have happened to her husband ( though her husband was stronger than she thought) after her death, so she purposefully said hurtful words to him to forget her.

( It hurts , I know ...I am never a fan of noble idiocy)

Cause his great grandfather Sukjong prevented 'Concubines' from becoming a 'Queen' since Jang Heebin mess.

Also since Jeongjo was a king with high moral values, he would never dethrone his Queen without reasons even without Sukjong's degrees.

Both are MBC dramas, they are the same place

Hong sisters are mixing things from Harry Potter, Wuxia and Anime .
I don't know what the final product will be.
Hoping they write a good ending ahead this time.

The romance is not awful, it is (the most) poetic (in my mind).

For the story, there is no disturbing love triangle.

Also there is no true villain in the story, they are made due to the time and I could understand them when I watched.

It is based on historical events,
most of the characters in this drama are real life historical figures, so their fates cannot be altered.

First half of the drama is about most tragic event of Joseon dynasty & how that event affects the ML and why he becomes attached to the FL.

The second half is about their love story.
But the love story is not sugar coated . It was told in a melancholic way by mentioning 'how women were restricted in that era'.

If you are looking for a sweet romance love story with happy ending, it may not be for you.

I rarely think cameo as a project. But Ahhh...fine.
Something is better than nothing.

But as your word, I am a fan who is never into BL, but I neither spam on BL's page nor go around to say 'The drama deserves 0 score' on every BL drama page.

Because I respect everyone has their own likes or dislikes.

It is based on history, and the real life historical figures had tragic fate.. so it can't be helped.
